I do.

It's my neighbours across the road. They garden together with their little baby 'helping' aswell. I'm single and make no secret of the fact i would like to have someone i could do normal house and family stuff with but seeing these 3 out together working as a team brings me so much (unexpected) joy that i actually wonder if i'm a bit weird.

Does anyone else have something simple that brings you joy like this?

Such a great thread!
For me:
Snow falling and treading into virgin snow
The quiet of really early mornings, when you feel like you're in a secret world
My dogs snoring in tandem or sunbathing out in the garden
My DH when he loves the food I've made (maybe I'm a feeder?!) Grin
Large, loud family meals
Crisp and sunny winter days
Walking through fallen leaves
The sea
My DH
Having patients who 'get it'
Seeing bumblebees in flight

A floppy-eared dog with its head out a car window.

Flowers in a vase.

Spring (any day now!)

Hearing my four year old son bumping down the stairs on his bum.

All of us singing in the car.

My eight year old cracking up at silly jokes.

Haven't done this for years and years, but lying on the grass under a tree on a warm summer day, gazing up through the branches to a blue sky.

Fishing my knickers and odd socks out from behind the radiator with an old wire coat hanger. Just done it and truly it's better than sex to be honest!

For the last few weeks I have woken up happy, because I've solved the problem of the duvet slipping down inside the cover overnight. I hated that 9 inches of empty cover every morning.

When my cat leans on me.

Chatting to my daughter when she's in a really good mood.

Watching the sun set over the mountains near my parent's farm (this is summer, believe it or not it's lovely and green in winter ) Smile

The sea
A clean house
Clean, line dried bed linen and a freshly made bed.
Summer mornings when it is going to be hot.
midway through a long run when you feel like you are floating and it is all effortless.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 26/03/2015 15:00

Oh yes, getting into a clean, freshly made bed after a hot bath - have loved that feeling ever since I was a kid Grin

Allstoppedup · 26/03/2015 15:08

Gah, stupid pregnancy hormones! Your OP made me cry!

How lovely.

MeerkaRIPSirTerry · 26/03/2015 15:59

It's just so nice

Apatite1 · 26/03/2015 16:51

My twin cousins even though they are all grown. I remember my mind being blown when I first met them as a kid, I didn't know there were going to be two!

A clean bathroom

Clean sheets

Cashmere socks

Snow

Being on the ocean

Putting spoon into a big tub of ice cream

Hot shower after a workout

Speculoos spread

Tempura

Pink flowers

I love secretly ear-wigging conversations between little kids and their parents. In the doctor's waiting room the other day:
Little girl: What are we doing after this, Mummy?
Mum: We'll go to the shop for a few things, then home and have a cup of tea.
Little girl: Oh good. We'll make tea, and then you'll sit down and drink it, and you'll say "Ahhhhh, tea!"

Also, getting into bed when the electric blanket's on and I've just changed the sheets, and the cat jumps up next to me and settles down all purring :)

DameEdnasBridesmaid · 26/03/2015 20:23

A line full of washing (especially whites)
DH unexpectedly holding my hand (rarer than hens teeth)
Watching DD and DS chatting (still amazing to an only child)

I was walking my dog one day this week in the beautiful countryside where we live. The sun was shining, the dog was cantering, I could hear a woodpecker - I felt blissed out.

In my car yesterday I was ridiculously happy when 'Steppin' Out' by Joe Jackson came on the radio. Haven't heard it for years but I knew every word.

Small things.

Lydiand · 26/03/2015 20:27

'Steppin' Out' Now that would make me happy, love it.

Getting into bed on a Friday night knowing I don't have to get up in the morning.

Bringing the wheelie bin in after it's been emptied and realising it's just been cleaned by the bin cleaning people, that makes me beam.
