hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 19:10

another benefit of being pissed is you won't remember what you've said, which can help

Snapespeare · 18/08/2013 19:13

OWW Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin ! yay!!

Pomegranatenoir · 18/08/2013 19:17

Mmnnnnn no call yet! I said after 7. How would you interpret that?

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 19:19

well I guess it is after 7? But not yet half past? :/

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 19:22

give him until 7 30 then forget it

Bant · 18/08/2013 19:29

The point was to give you a topic on which he may wax lyrical and worry you or give you a common framework. It doesn't matter what you talk about, just if you can talk

Pomegranatenoir · 18/08/2013 19:29

He has got one minute!! I've got his number but I'm not calling him!!

Bant · 18/08/2013 19:30

I talked to derby for at least half an hour last night about flight of the conchords. We're both fans. She lived in NZ for a while. Worryingly connecting

Pomegranatenoir · 18/08/2013 19:32

Thanks bant may all be irrelevant now because I think I have been stood up for a telephone date by a man with 5 children and that only ticks few of my boxes but did make me laugh - by message. Oh Jesus Christ. What have i become??? I have to laugh.......... Otherwise I will cry!!

Pomegranatenoir · 18/08/2013 19:42

He is calling me in a minute - was waiting for me to give him the okay to say my kids were asleep!!

Pomegranatenoir · 18/08/2013 19:44

Sorry for being so bloody childish. The whole dating thing makes me turn into a teenager.

OhWesternWind · 18/08/2013 19:46

Pom if someone said after seven, I think I'd assume any time after seven would be okay. Don't despair, I think it's just a misunderstanding.

Ooh Bant she's sounding very good indeed!

Holiday is summer holiday with dc - possible Alpha holiday isn't til next June ... He's been over on his motorbike which was a great hit with the dc - he spent ages with them letting them climb on and off it and rev it up - lots of curtain twitchers having a gawp with us making a racket on a sunday tea time. Shock horror. Dd has told me she likes him better than LM so that is surely a good sign.

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 19:51

Bant I think I connection over geeky stuff is often very binding...

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 19:52

*a connection! bah typing

Bant · 18/08/2013 20:06

Fotc is not geeky. It is uber cool. You have been told

T2710 · 18/08/2013 20:08

Hi all.

Apologies for being such an absent poster of late, life has been hectic and dating not great :-s

Anyway, I just wanted to ask any of you on eharmony or those that have used it previously how subscription works? I got a special offer email so have tried to subscribe through that three times and its accepting my card details (and when I log in they are showing on my account) yet it's still not showing me pics etc and is asking me to subscribe. Does it take a while to go though? Utterly confused by it.

Bant · 18/08/2013 20:25

T - I haven't tried subscribing to EH as I heard it was a fairly godcentric website - Juliette looked at it a while back I think? It doesn't allow you to contact people it thinks aren't a good match for you, like a tutting auntie.

I think OKC might be better maybe if you haven't tried that already

Djangounhinged · 18/08/2013 20:35

Evening all,

Lots of Grin to all you happy daters! You know who you are..... Smile

OWW please keep on with the gushiness, it's so lovely to read!

Pom I hope the phone chat went well!

I'm still on for a second date with the footballer, lots of good chat yesterday. Think I'm so taken with him, though, and so trying to convince myself that it'll only be a fling at most, that I'm gaily ignoring red flags.... Is it ok to do that? Or am I setting myself up for a fall?

Loved reading your thoughts about good-lookingness above... I am very looks-driven, especially on OD when you can't see cheeky twinkles in eyes or good senses of humour. This one is way the nicest looking guy I've met OD - maybe that's another red flag right there!

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 20:41

Geeky IS cool. In my universe at least

scrazy · 18/08/2013 20:42

Django, the men in my area look unappealing and they just look boring. Like I could never get along with them. I wonder, can you tell this from a photo or am I being lookist? When I've though this before but given someone a chance I've usually been right.

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 20:42

Django you are right there about the photos not being representative. In RL I have fancied fat bald men because they had a certain something, yet the same guy I would have rejected from a photo. But you can't date every potato that rears its head.

scrazy · 18/08/2013 20:50

I'm chatting to someone now. My age, very local to me and his profile sounds adventurous but I don't know again, not sure I could fancy him from the photo. He might be worth a meet up if he asks.

Djangounhinged · 18/08/2013 20:50

I think you can get a feel from a photo combined with a profile, as to whether they are boring. But I guess quite a few decent folks will slip through that filter, because they didn't have a decent pic when they signed up, or haven't written about themselves in that way before so have written a poor profile....

But I totally agree, life is too short to try to date all the spuds just in case!

JulietteMontague · 18/08/2013 20:52

T what Bant said about EH. I found it dire, they select for you, you don't get to see anyone else. once they run out of suitables they match you more and more randomly based on they're idea of it. they sent me a man who hated his ex wife and another who was surprised that not all Italian restaurants serve pizza. plus a lot of players who thought they were in the sweet shop Hmm

JulietteMontague · 18/08/2013 20:56

I dated a lot of spuds just in case and they were indeed interchangeable spuds.
