Yes, I tend to message people - making sure to write it fresh each time so it doesn't sound C&V'd, and picking out something from their profile / asking them a question so it's not just a statement.

Had 1 reply so far, but that tailed straight off.

thanks OWW Smile glad things are unfolding beautifully with alpha

  1. graphic designer, very cool looking (also asian chinese which is a bit of a novelty for me as i mostly have to date outside of my ethnic group normally. (sigh))
  1. italian architect, also very cool looking.

both of them good with lead up, no fuss

designer e-mailed first, we swapped a few film/art recommendations, then i offered him my number told him to give me a shout if he was in my city and fancied coffee, bang on he texted and we set the date last week,

i sent the architect a "hey your profile looks great. where's that scene in your picture? do feel free to look at mine." soft sell e-mail

and he then responded with an invitation to coffee so i gave my number. he texted today saying "like to meet tomorrow but we'll set another date if you can't make it". of course i said yes Smile

so 2 coffees tomorrow with no red flags whatsoever.

also i'm quite glad of the change from the "hardcore gordon gekko corporateness" of the european. you eat what you kill and all that including your dates

erm just looked back at my post and that looked like i put "sigh" after "date outside my ethnic group normally".

what i actually meant to put in before that was a line about "often get first messages from men who tell me they've been to thailand on holiday and love the women there"

Well FoF and I have been texting and speaking on the phone every day .. We are trying to organise a trip to Ireland with my DD in October to see the family that I met on holiday in July .. He is coming to dinner at mine and a sleep over while DD is here tomorrow night ( he will leave before she is awake in the morning) as we couldn't wait until Wednesday when we were both child free .. Everything is great .. No red flags .. I think both of us are thinking of using the L word but just now 'smitten' has been used and the l word is used a lot (I.e. I love spending time with you, I love kissing you etc) .. Eek!!

Sorry not been able to keep up with goings on .. New house has had the shell ripped out and now the new kitchen has been fitted , bathroom and flooring and decorating this week .. It's all go !!

This had made me realise I could never have a long distance relationship.

And thank you OWW, I'm not really but I will be. I've suffered too many passed-on-by-children bugs to get laid low for too long! I'm meant to be sleeping right now but you know how it is - when the opportunity presents you rarely manage to get any kip
