I appreciate everyone warning caution. Trust me, I'm using this place to rant and rave and swear and all that,... at the moment I haven't done anything. And even if I do manage to locate him (with some first class help!) I might not necessarily do anything with that information just yet. But I would just like to know, that's all, instead of driving round looking for his car all the time,.... Just this knowledge will make me feel a bit more empowered.

All advice on here is very helpful - the calm, the practical, the hysterical, the funny, the 'been there done that', it's all amazing and I value all of it.

Would just like to add, when my uncle left my aunt for another woman while lying and saying it wasn't a sexual relationship just an emotional one - until their child was born that is she was utterly devastated. Fast forward a few years and she is a different person - more bubbly, funnier, confident. People who knew her before she was married say that she has got her old personality back. Men can suck the life out of you without you realising it. It sounds like you too will now be free to blossom as an individual Lou.

Hoping Mr&Mrs BabylonPI are doing okay. I think they are on their mission now! If they manage to find where Chutney Twunt is living, it gives knowledge (and power) back to Lou.

PS I have way enough experience of academia to promise you that the average male academic can spin out any old crap to justify himself if he is of a selfish disposition (boring you rigid in the process).

ps I have some year old chutney myself, seriously. I moved it here during my recent move because I was so distracted woth h's infdelities last year I never got time to use it

I honestly would change the appointment date, though. If he turns up it'll probably be more embarrassing than confrontational and you could end up letting him come in rather than having to explain enough of the history to a member of staff not to come over like a lunatic trying to keep your DH out of the appointment. I know you won't be alone but why give him the satisfaction? It is nothing to do with him when you have the scan.

On the note of chutney, it was HE who was into it, not me. I'm quite happy with some Branston's sandwich pickle. Why do you need anything else? He was the one with about 12 jars of roasted peppers, tomato and cumin, mediterranean medley blah blah. I think when this is all over I'm going to buy myself one big jar of Branston's, put it in the pantry and just think 'Aaaaahhhh'.
