Have just noticed that dh has set up a camera and has been videoing our room. I think it is to see whether I have a nap. Apparently I do nothing all day. I have 3 DC so am literally running round all day. Am I wrong to think this weird and also very creepy?

Good lord. Get out. Now.

This is creepy and controlling verging on the frightening.

lurkedtoolong · 14/08/2012 14:17

And if you did have a nap? What would he do?

Strange, controlling and scary behaviour from your H. If he doesn't have a bloody good excuse the next thing he should be seeing is you packing his bags.

Debeez · 14/08/2012 14:17

DP has chimed in. He has experience of this through a friend finding out the same as you. Check for other cameras. If there is one in the bathroom call the police, voyeurism and often catches other people and children on it too.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 14/08/2012 14:20

Oh my god! That's just wrong!

And as said, very controlling begat would he do if you were doing something he didn't approve of (such as napping).

My DP is always telling me not to do too much.

StuntGirl · 14/08/2012 14:21

WTH? That's creepy beyond belief. I'd be having it out with him.

How did you notice it? Is it very well hidden? How long do you think it was there?

squeakytoy · 14/08/2012 14:22

I would be tempted to lie on the bed with a book (shades of grey would be a good one) and occasionally look at the camera, wave and give it the v sign..

on a serious note, I then would sling the fucker out, with his webcam.

Paiviaso · 14/08/2012 14:25

If this is a serious post, then that is sooo controlling and creepy. My first thought was, "There are probably other cameras if this is to monitor what you do all day."

PandaFoot · 14/08/2012 14:26

Leave now and don't look back. How disgusting and awful for you. Is he very controlling usually?

WorraLiberty · 14/08/2012 14:28

Hold on that's a big leap

What actually makes you think he's secretly filming you to see if you have a nap?

Maybe he just left the web cam on by accident?

Unless of course there's some sort of back story?

AmberLeaf · 14/08/2012 14:28

That's awful.

I'm guessing this is only the half of it.

Hulababy · 14/08/2012 14:30

Is the webcam separate to the computer?
Can you see what it says ont he computer? What he has actually videoed and when?

Thumbwitch · 14/08/2012 14:30

Is he normally very controlling and suspicious? Does he perhaps think you're having an affair and is hoping to catch you out? Or maybe he's secretly filming you both having sex together?

Whichever it is, he's done it without your knowledge and it's creepy and quite worrying. Can you find out what he's filmed?

And definitely look for other cameras, especially in the bathroom!

Trazzletoes · 14/08/2012 14:30

Creepy creepy CREEPY! Definitely call him up on it. God only knows what else he might be 'filming'! And as others have said, so what if you have a rest? It must be exhausting looking after 3 DCs!

MaisyMooCow · 14/08/2012 14:31

I would definitely have some fun with that before you confront him.

Just out of interest, how did you find it? How was it concealed?

WorraLiberty · 14/08/2012 14:33

Sorry but this thread is hysterical given the minuscule amount of information the OP has given so far Grin

At least let her type a bit more before having him down as a controlling sex pest who's soon to be homeless....

MissTapestry · 14/08/2012 14:33

Odd behaviour Confused

redlac · 14/08/2012 14:34

I agree with Worra!

redlac · 14/08/2012 14:35

Do you have some paranormal activity that he is trying to capture?

MaisyMooCow · 14/08/2012 14:36

He may not actually be filming, he may be logging in remotely from time to time.

LemonBreeland · 14/08/2012 14:37

That sounds awful. What a prick. I would be furious.

Hmm it is creepy but need more info really.

nokidshere · 14/08/2012 14:44

He might not be filming all the time and he might not be a controlling sex pest, but if my husband had a webcam set up in the bedroom without my knowledge I would be beyond furious.

There is nothing justifiable in filming your own bedroom without your partners consent. nothing.

WorraLiberty · 14/08/2012 14:48

nokids for all we know it might be a laptop...left in the bedroom by accident, he might not have 'set the cam up'...the OP may be unaware it came with the computer etc...

There could be many reasons...of course one of those reasons could be that the OP's DH is a pervy little control freak.

But based on the limited info so far....maybe not?

crystaldash · 14/08/2012 14:58

I only noticed because he logged in remotely so screen flashed up. He was scrolling through the recordings. I told him it was weird and turned the camera round . He is controlling but not a sex pest. Is convinced I sleep all day. Apparently the fairies must come round to clean
