...apart from my dad.

They really are.

For a long time I lhave ooked at their positive sides, but all men will turn out to be bastards in the end.

Sometimes men can be quite nice I suppose - especially the younger ones, who are not yet tarnished by some degree of masogyny and cannot perve over of women twenty years their junior.

What happens to them when they reach 35? They all turn out to be sad little leacherous fools.

It's their fault that the divide between men and women just gets bigger as we all get older. Because they don't mature. Women improve and men just become gross.

I'm finding it very hard to like them at all to be honest.

...apart from my dad.

Sorry you've had a bad time life.

But I am afraid you're wrong.

My DH is 42 and still utterly gorgeous. Not a shred of bastard about him.

MrGin · 15/09/2011 15:00

What about Trolls ? I think they're bastards whatever age or sex they are.

mumsamilitant · 15/09/2011 15:00

Oh dear. What's gone on?

Anniegetyourgun · 15/09/2011 15:01

Hmm, have you ever considered that your Dad might, in fact, be a woman? In disguise, like.

mumsamilitant · 15/09/2011 15:02

Think the OP has just had a bit of a rant. Maybe she will calm down in a mo and tell us a bit more.

pictish · 15/09/2011 15:03

Oh dear.
Utter tosh of course....my husband, who is 42, is no sad little lecherous fool.

I'm sorry if you've had a hard time OP, but you're insulting a lot of people who don't warrant it, there. Lots of posters' husbands and brothers and friends etc.

TrillianAstra · 15/09/2011 15:04

No they aren't.

TrillianAstra · 15/09/2011 15:10

If a man said that he had had bad experiences with his ex-partners and had concluded that all women are bitches you would (rightly) lay into him.

Please don't let a few assholes put you off an entire half of the human race.

Punkatheart · 15/09/2011 15:23

My OH was indeed a beautiful person and I loved him very deeply. Gentle, honest and everyone's friend. Twenty years together. Then he left me with cancer and his child, telling me he cannot cope and he wants to be free.

A terrible terrible shock but I will never think that all men are bastards. I may not trust easily - but not all men are weak. I am glad that some here have lovely OHs. I was just unlucky.

ChildofIsis · 15/09/2011 15:26

Punk at heart I too was deeply in love with my gorgeous, wonderful H until he left me for another woman.
I thought eh was the last man on earth who'd do that, but he did it.

However I will not tar all men with his brush.

HairyGrotter · 15/09/2011 15:44

My dad is a bastard, but all men are not my dad Grin thank fuck

PeppermintPasty · 15/09/2011 15:49

Grin at HairyGrotter.

My Mum's a bastard Sad

We've all got it in our lives one way or another.

Oh....SOD THEM, FUCK THEM OFF TO THE FAR SIDE OF FUCK OFF! as someone wise once said on hereSmile

mayorquimby · 15/09/2011 15:49

think you will find there is a fair share of bastards regardless of gender

ShirelyKnotSHIRE · 15/09/2011 15:57

Of course they're not.

My boys are FUCKING AWESOME

lifeisbetter · 15/09/2011 16:01

Okay, maybe it's a little bit OTT to say ALL of them are. But they are going down in my view rapidly as they (and I) get older.

And, it's not my DH who has insighted this sudden outburst, but blokes at work and other men I come into contact with.

It's what they discuss when they are together. Men I thought were nice and then I see how they act when they are away from home etc. They can be very disrespectful about women.

notherdaynotherdollar · 15/09/2011 16:03

so what, women can be extremely insulting and harrassing to men, try working in a factory ....

pettyprudence · 15/09/2011 16:03

All Dave's are evil.... or does that come under the same heading?

Pan · 15/09/2011 16:03

Oh so misinformed.

I have recently been informed by a woman (no inter-personal relationship involved) that I am indeed "awesome". As is probably TiggD, Snorbs, BelfastBloke and any other number of dads round these parts.

Now the woman who usd to be our HR officer wan't very nice at all.

HairyGrotter · 15/09/2011 16:04

A lot of that is bravado though. I give it all the charliebigballs (I'm female BTW) showing off in front of mates, having a giggle.

HairyGrotter · 15/09/2011 16:05

pettyprudence has a point, all the men I've encounted called Dave, are, in fact, total bastards. Prove me wrong folks, prove me wrong

mumsamilitant · 15/09/2011 16:07

I used to work in an "all male" environment, had a ball - gave as good as i got Wink

lifeisbetter · 15/09/2011 16:07

I think on the whole women have a capability to be more discrete and dignified over everything than men - especially over their relationships with men.

I don't know of many respected women who lie and cheat to men and think of them as little more than their little f**k toys.

And then go and slate the nice girls who they have just happened to get lucky with down the pub about how good or bad they are in bed.

OP posts:
HairyGrotter · 15/09/2011 16:09

I've used men before not proud of it, and had the shoe been on the other foot, these men would have been branded arseholes/bastards.

We are all capable of unacceptable behaviour towards others, regardless of gender.
