The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Giving Up Booze For Lent.

Hello.

I'm Mouse.

We are a Bus load of posters with various relationships with the demon booze. Some are sober, some are not and some are inbetween.

So come say hi and meet the rest of The Babes, there's always plenty of room on the Bus, the doors are ALWAYS open.

No judgy pants are worn on this journey, pants yes and even the odd Tena Lady but always of the non judging variety.

Morning Babes

Well, what a bloody morning! Builders finally arrived only to discover that we had not removed the wallpaper....... they didn't ask us to.

Queue mad rush around the village to ask all the neighbours if I could borrow a steamer. Got one, brought it to them, it's still sat in it's box in the hall - Grrrrr.

Then the builder hit a live electricity cable in the wall and tripped the entire house, plus nearly killing himself!

I had a meltdown and thought it best I go to playgroup with Nemo leaving DH to deal with it all.

Get back a few moments ago to a crumpled looking DH who tells me that there is no power in the lounge, not at all, what are we going to do, do I know a spark etc....

I lean over and turn all of the sockets on, that I'd turned off when the electricity tripped, and what's worse is that I told him I'd done it! Or even the fact that he didn't even check!

Problem solved! Bloody men! It's enough to drive you to drink!

JWN - I'm pleased that your beautiful DD is slowing down too. I'm not sure why, maybe because everything seemed to happen so fast?

Thank you for the fairy dust etc for Nemo last night....... he did have a bit of a better night but was very hard to put to bed last night..... more trauma dreams I think

Hydrotherapy for me and then the docs.... what a busy day.

Not too bad a day today, guys at work were a bit more upbeat, they find out tomorrow if they have a job or not.......?.might have been mild hysteria setting in!

1/2 a day to go then I'm off for a week, first holiday this year so can't wait. Lots of spring cleaning planned (sad or what?)

Things ok here; back to day 2 after drinking on Tuesday night for no very good reason .

Got a tricky weekend ahead in terms of being sober. Am going to use the Lent excuse, as it's slightly more in character for me to be giving something up for Lent, than it is for me not to be drinking...

and walked, and walked and walked........
Am seriously weary. Still no sign of teen DD's who apparently went out together last night . this is UNHEARD of!!!. Getting some garbled messages about Margerhitas which probably doesn't bear any further investigating......
Hope Thurso and Venus are having a good meet up - so wish I coul dhave been there.....

Trist - can I just say, don't put too much pressure on yourself to not drink. Don't make it bigger than it is this weekend IYSWIM. Enjoy yourself, go with the flow, just try not to project and worry about the ifs, buts, and maybes.

Maz - I hope that tomorrow goes in the right direction for you and work. It's never a nice thing to go through or to watch.

Well, I'm officially broken according to my GP. He's put me on morphine for the pain and referred me for an MRI and to the Pain Management Clinic. It's only taken 2 years to be taken seriously about how much pain I'm in every day.

Let's hope that things are better now that someone is listening to me!

If I may be so personal, what is the cause of your health issues? did you break something or suffer some trauma?
Going to bed soon - drinking wine tonight and really have to get a grip again!!!

my second night. Cleaned the house, ate dinner, having a bath now then some more work before bed. H is out with bil, he did ask me to cometo the pub but I said no.

Weird experiance earlier - thought someone was following me. Still freaked out but it might be booze paranoia. He got on 2 buses with me and satclose (next to me on the first when the bus wasn't full- tres weird in London) then I watched when I got off to see if he did too. He didn't but watched me walk away and rang the bell to get off at the next one. I ran to the train station and hid there. V freaked out.

By the way, if anyone is reading here, Thurso and I had a lovely evening. She is a wonderful lady - bright, attractive , funny. I doubt that anyone looking at us in the restaurant could have guessed at our shared 'interest'.

It was also really good to face something so odd and a bit unsettling (and I don't mean HER ) without having to resort to a bit of 'dutch courage'.
