The One Before

And All Others Before That

So, this is The Brave Babes Battle Bus.

All are welcome, regardless of your background, stage of sobriety, or anything else. Smile

I'm Mouse and have been here since June 2010, and in control of my drinking since August 2nd 2010.

You will find unconditional support here. Always.

Whatever you feel about drinking (or not), we've been in your shoes. Some more than once.

So, come say hi, come grab a seat. There is always an open door and a warm welcome on this Bus.

Hello.

horribletruth · 02/03/2011 11:46

Hello.
I had a drink last night.
I am so annoyed with myself.
I understood in February. It was my mums anniversary, my DS dad died. But yesterday was the 1st day of March and I really wanted it to be a new beginning. Guess the new beginning will have to start today.
So so so angry with myself.

Hello, I am venus, I was a problem drinker, and I am an alcoholic. I am not drinking at the moment, but I don't think that stops me from being an alcoholic because I know that all too easily if I started drinking again, I fear I'd be back to drinking the massive amount that I used to.

So for today, I choose not to have a drink Smile

dementedma · 02/03/2011 12:34

I am Demented Grin. I am on about day 12 although there has been a glass or two along the way, but a vast improvement on the bottle or 10 it would normally have been over that amount of time.
Until now I had been drinking every day for years [shame]. But now I don't.
this bus is the best place ever - I now have new friends,a healthier liver and hope.

bafanatheSober · 02/03/2011 12:54

Hi all, my name is bafana, and with the help and support of this bus, I have not had a drink for over 3 months.
I am a problem drinker, at I now don't drink Odaat.

Hello Smile

I'm Threesteps, a serial lurker and possibly still in the sidecar I asked to be installed on Gerald!

Although I'm not a regular poster, I've read invaluable advice and support on all these threads and the lovely bunch of people on it!

I've not had a drink since Saturday and for the last month I've not had a drink during the week which, for me, is massive progress Grin

Zanywany · 02/03/2011 16:29

Well done Threesteps, I remember the side car Grin

Momentarynamechange · 02/03/2011 16:40

Thanks Zany and well done you for cutting down recently, you're doing brilliant!

Am wearing plenty of thermals as it can get a bit chilly in the sidecar this time of year Grin

dementedma · 02/03/2011 16:54

nice and warm in here Threesteps. Sure you won't climb aboard? sounds like you've made huge progress

Mouseface · 02/03/2011 16:58

Hello Three

Hey Ma - how a things? x

OP posts:
Momentarynamechange · 02/03/2011 17:21

Aw, thank you Smile I may climb on board, but I may climb off again...

I'm still deluding myself that I can turn back into a normal drinker and until I've accepted it I may be doing a bit of bus hopping!

Sorry I don't post much but I do lurk and get so much help from the bus, thank you all xx

MissPerrier · 02/03/2011 18:56

Miss P reporting in! I love this bus and everybody on it. It feels really good and very empowering to share our journeys. Alcohol is a sly old bugger, but knowledge is power and I have learnt so much from this thread, a lot about myself that I simply couldn't see before. Smile I'm happy to say Today I will not be drinking

BBwannaB · 02/03/2011 20:28

BBwannaB here, not able to break my battle bus habit, I'm always lurking and don't often chip in but just about 5 months sober now, thanks to the help and inspiration I draw from this thread. If I can do it YOU can do it!
JWN Bloody well done on 9 months, you are a true inspiration and a friend in times of need XX

Rubyredlips · 02/03/2011 20:33

Hi to all my fellow passengers (and those in the sidecar).
I'm Ruby and I've got a problem with alcohol. Rightly or wrongly (depending on your view) I am trying to control it and have been doing so successfully for approx 10 weeks now.

The people on this bus have been an amazing support and inspiration.
I intend to stay seated cos I've got my ticket for the whole journey Grin.

You may not always know I'm here cos I like my quiet time but if you look closely you will see me with headphones in ears and nose in a book.

Rubyredlips · 02/03/2011 20:35

Hi BB. That's a brilliant achievement Grin

BBwannaB · 02/03/2011 20:58

Thanks Ruby congratulations on your success as well!

Keep going Isindie it is early days and you are doing exactly the right thing to protect yourself from the major temptation of 'wet' places. It is hard work but you are building your own success. Eventually you will be better equipped to deal with the temptation and then you can decide whether to risk the train or a stay over.
