TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 15/12/2010 13:51

Hello

I'm Mouse.

Welcome to the Brave Babes Bus - Gerald! Blame Silver for the name! Grin

We are a group of MNers who post about our relationship with alcohol and how drinking it, or not, has an effect on our day to day lives.

Come and meet the other Brave Babes, say hi, take a seat or just read.

Here are the threads so far

Noteven - Deep Breaths. Lots of them. So sorry you're not well. I have always suffered with horndous nosebleeds.

Anyway, ignore your mother, she'll be pissed off that you aren't showing your face it 'being Christmas' and all. High expectations are the main issues with family at Christmas.

You need to rest and get plenty of water or dioralyte inside you if you have any.

And maybe take something codine based if you have anything to slow your bowels up until you can get to a chemist.

Be gentle on yourself xx

Thank you Mouse. Am going to try and eat and have a nap with a towel on my pillow, and be here for my beautiful girl when they get back, whenever that is. I need a different plan for next Christmas, might start saving to go away!! Mouse, I hope your day was all you dreamed and hoped for.

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 26/12/2010 13:22

We had a fab day thanks.

I NEVER share Christmas Day with my mother. I'm nearly 36 years old. I am married with children and a mortgage. In the eyes of most, that makes me an adult. and therefore able to make my own decisions.

Hope you are feeling better later when DD get's home. Try not to let your mother upset you with 'you should have been there.......so and so asked after you' type comments.

xx

Afternoon Campers

Had a lovely stressed day yesterday but today am full of a cold/flu and feeling like crap - BUT at least I got out of going to the Panto - small mercys and all that

I am enjoying some lovely peace and quiet - DP gone to France again (I know I know) - DD at Panto with rest of family - Brother gone to see his daughters - just me and the cat - BLISS.

I am so glad that this will be my last Christmas as a drinker.

Roll on AA tomorrow [frin] xxxx

GoodChristianaRejoice · 26/12/2010 14:10

Happy Christmas everyone

We had a lovely time. I did have some fizz and some Paulliac but was all in control and fine.

No more drinking from tomorrow here either silver

venusandchristmars · 26/12/2010 14:56

What a different christmas I am having.. This morning we went for a lovely long walk (all except one stroppy teenage niece). In previous years I would have stayed behind with the pretence of prepping lunch, but in reality getting started on the booze. This afternoon instead I am sitting here relaxed eating a slice of chocolate log and drinking a mug of tea.

I wonder at the waste of time that my drinking years were - when in reality not one single thing was made better by being pissed.

Happy Boxing Day to all the lovely babes. Use colds and illnesses as a reason for being positively self-indulgent, for eating good things, for taking care of yourself, for curling up with a good book and for getting an early night and lots of sleep. Use pain in the butt family members as a way of contrasting your own good judgement. And use a special moment to retain your sobriety and to be glad for yourself.

Rubyrednose · 26/12/2010 15:58

Happy Boxing Day to all you lovely brave babes. It seems many are having a different christmas this year. I'm having a lovely, quiet and relaxing time with dh and dc's. Still having the odd drink but haven't been pissed. I so don't want to go back there again. I was a monster. Thanks for all your support. What an amazing thread x

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 26/12/2010 20:29

venusandchristmars · 27/12/2010 09:41

Icy here but for the first time in weeks, I can see grass! Must be a sure sign that more snow is on its way. We're off to visit the inlaws for a couple of days.

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 27/12/2010 11:58

We were forecast snow last night but we got rain so all of my lovely thick snow is melting.

Have a good time venus

Ma - how about thinking of things to do with snow? Erm, like erm, a snow man/woman/children? All lined up in the garden?

An igloo?

A castle? Snow sculptures? Snow ball fight with all the neighbours? Snow angels?

Xmas Grin

Hi Trinity welcome back.

Mouse I have never felt soooo ill - because i don't do ill - i never get sick - worst part is all my plans for meetings are out the window -for today at least - hoping to be a bit better tomorrow - very good meeting on but I wouldn't pass this flu on to my worst enemy - and I may well still be in bed.............ah well..........just have to see how I am [frin] x

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 27/12/2010 13:32

thankyou mouse and silver

there is something wrong with me

I so angry at myself

Silverbaubleonatree · 27/12/2010 13:38

Trinity it may just be a hangover but there are also a hell of a lot of bugs/flu around - can you take some paracetamol, drink some orange juice and get to bed? No point beating yourself up when you are feeling this bad. You need to look at the situation with a clear head so for today ,just try and be kind to yourself and get some rest xxxx

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 27/12/2010 14:53

Silver - Sorry you are still so poorly lovely.

Trin - how was your Christmas and how are the DCs?

Why are you so angry?

dementedma · 27/12/2010 16:00

I'm Ma, or Demented, whichever you prefer and I ride this bus because I can't control my drinking. Nice to "meet" you

thursomuchhappinessin2011 · 27/12/2010 18:41

Hello babes,

Happy Monday to you all.

Hello Trinity, I think I remember your name from just before I joined (October), we will support and help you in anything that you want to do for yourself.

Well, I had such a bad night's sleep last night. I stayed up until 1am to watch "Love Actually", for the 10th time!, and then couldn't get to sleep for hours. Very confusing as my Dh looks just like Hugh Grant (love him or hate him, I love him, but think that Colin Firth is better looking), and so every time I turned over, I was half hallucinating that I was back in the film Grin.

Then DH got up at 6am to watch the bastard start of the cricket and woke me up. I did go back to sleep, and tried veeery hard not to be a drama queen today, as I think I have started to be a bit ungrateful for all my blessings lately.

Mouse how has Nemo been over the holiday.
Venus did you manage to speak to your daughter in India at all?
Wasindie did the DT's get excited or will that be next year, do you think?
nomore, noteven, silver, jwn, ma,red, christiana, milflaw ruby and anyone and everyone else that I may have forgotton, have a good evening, and thankyou again for being a lifeline, and such good company. xxxx
