Hello to all and a Medal for those of you that stayed over all 16 pages of the 'It's all about him' thread.

Since it has gotten so big and since I will most likely going to be droning on about this for a little while I thought it would be easier to just start a new thread.

Must say I prefer the new title Xmas Grin

For those that didn't read the mammoth previous thread, in a nutshell it's about me dithering to leave partner of 8 years. No sex life for a year, he's very self centred and unmotivated etc, no future to speak of, fed up.

Finally told him I want to split up last night so am now using MN as my lifeline to ensure I really do get out of this excuse for a relationship.

Thank you all again for letting me do this and your support :)

No to the mulled wine but your spot on with the presents on the 24th for Germans.

Yes please to the wrapped gingerbread, thanks very much, what a lovely thought!

If only I had some white icing! Never mind.

DP's family are German and they have had all their things tonight. My parents ask what they do on Christmas Day then, and TBH I don't know! What are the German Christmas Day traditions?

And how calm and peaceful and Christmassy are you feeling?

BibiBlocksberg · 25/12/2010 01:16

Stille nacht, that takes me back a bit!

Christmas day is very similar to English traditions, ie family come over (the ones you didn't see on 'heilig abend ( translates to holy evening)

Lots of food etc, games, play with presents you got the night before.

The day after is then like boxing day here - vegging out in front of Christmas films, more food etc.

I remember all the shops being shut for 3 solid days over Christmas when I lived there. Unimaginable here isn't it :)

Feeling ok about the whole event this year had a few wobbles earlier but now mainly v tired.

Am going to round up the furry toe biters and hit the hay.

Lovely talking to you as always, sleep well and hope santa is good to you in the pressie stakes later :)

Happy Christmas everybody else, too. Aren't we lovely.

BibiBlocksberg · 25/12/2010 01:34

IAmReallyFabNow · 25/12/2010 11:31

Merry Christmas Bibi!

How are you today?

BibiBlocksberg · 25/12/2010 12:18

It's Chrissssssstmaaaaaas

Hello, thanks for the messages, they're just what I needed. Had a long lie-in and am quite happy pottering around contemplating what time to put my turkey crown on to cook :)

Did have a bit of a wobble earlier thinking that if he can't be bothered to even send me a text at Christmas then he really doesn't give a shit about me does he.

Over that now and enjoying the freedom to watch the silliest Christmas film going without any huffing and no stupid noises from his playstation either.

Find it amazing to think that people on the other side of the world know my story and are also cheering me on. Thank you porcupine.

As mr holder says, Merry Christmas everybody!!

ItsGraceAgain · 25/12/2010 15:55

BibiBlocksberg · 25/12/2010 16:48

Hey, I'll thank you not to give away my REAL dinner choice AF :)

Never thought about the turkey flavour crisps actually, dang that would have saved a bit of money and effort Grin

I am stuffed now, I do make a lovely roast dinner even if i do say so myself :)

It's just weird because I usually don't bother doing nice things just for me. I blame MN. Terrible influence to look after yourself this place!!

BibiBlocksberg · 25/12/2010 16:57

The weirdest thing just happened - just sat down ready to chow into a big box of Christmas choccys when there's a knock at the door.

Opened it and there's a little boy id say he was about 6 singing we wish you a merry Christmas Xmas Confused

His dad then appeared behind him and the family cat who the boy told me had followed them from home for a walk.

I was so stunned i gave the boy £1 and wished him a good Christmas.

The dad didnt say a word and just seemed to want to rush by pretending he was a stranger. Until the boy said that's my dad and then he proceeded to hover behind the boy looking 'thuggish'

I mean really, who would take their child Carol singing on Christmas day??????

OP posts:
Katisha · 25/12/2010 19:02

That does seem a bit bizarre. As if trick or treating or something...

BibiBlocksberg · 25/12/2010 19:06

I know Katisha, still puzzled about that one! Its one way to recoup some of the cost of Christmas I suppose :)

It's not something I would agree to do with my child on Christmas day.

Weird!!!

OP posts:
Katisha · 25/12/2010 19:10

OK talk later - just making the DSs go out carol singing...

They'd better not come back without twenty quid each.
