Well, this is our tenth thread so we are throwing a little party!

Everyone is invited! No booze of course, soft drinks and mocktails only!

I'm Mouse, hello. Smile

There are all kinds of drinkers on board the bus. Come and join the journey, whatever stage you are at, drinking, cutting down, wanting to stop or sober already.

Everyone is welcome to post here. Come say hi.

The journey so far is below.

witchety - lots of water, paracetamol at hand and please jump back on the bus. Think of tonight as the reason for trying again tomorrow. Hope you sleep well.

witchetychicky · 16/10/2010 22:39

Thanks whitenapteen -heading for the water now, but I deserve not to sleep - own stupid fault.

lucilastic · 16/10/2010 22:48

The founder of this thread and all the other 9 threads has sucessfully stopped.
There is hope and inspiration to be found here.
I wish I had more time to spend on the bus. Two toddlers, outside stresses, RL problems that need addressing.
I wish I could be here more. When I am I always feel stronger and appreciate the tough love when it's delivered.

Off to bed now. DP (geek man) watching some complete shit on the Horror+1 channel.
Night night (again) everyone. X

Whitenapteen · 16/10/2010 23:04

Luci tomorrow you can choose to not drink for the day and be your own inspiration. Sleep well.

Witchety try not to be so hard on yourself. You have stopped drinking for tonight.

Pumpkin good that the difficult time is under control. I hope the urge to drink fades as the DVD and mango sorbet take over.

ExD I too appreciate the clear headed mornings.

Diabolik Difficult when DP is drinking. Just focus on what you need to do for you. Some on here have found that DP has become more supportive of 'not drinking' by joining in as time passes. Hope GF might be one.

Off to bed - if I can rouse DH! Night All.

notevenaghostie · 17/10/2010 07:29

Up since 5 and a lot in the night as DD has chest infection but is also wheezy and I am really worried. I drank. And I have had a little top up this morning. Oh God. What a screw up.

TheAntiChristi · 17/10/2010 07:37

exdrinker i'm going to buy that book. In fact dh has been given a kindle so i can get one right now
i stopped smoking that way so why nit try it with ddrinking Confused

morning all. Had two glasses of red last night but no more. Really pleased i didn'r want more

hope everyone ok

TheAntiChristi · 17/10/2010 08:12

gah it's not on the kindle store. Hmm will go to waterstone's later

noteven my daughter was wheezy last week. Is your dd struggling to breathe when sitting still? You should call nhs direct right NOW if you are worried. You don't need me to say that drinking now is dangerous to both her and you and counter productive.

MorticiaPerrier · 17/10/2010 08:18

*I've been up ages...AGAIN! no DH to cuddle Sad One man/boy out. Stayed at a party, this is all new to me. My boys are growing up, mind you I've already had a text to ask when I will be picking him up. Other man/boy won't emerge for hours as he and his friend were roaring with laughter at you tube till the early hours!!!Angry.
Diabolic Run boy run!!! Grin

MorticiaPerrier · 17/10/2010 08:23

noteven How is that little "top up" going to help your DD's chest infection??? Come on deep breath, think it through. Ring out of hours GP, sort her out first Smile You can do this x

Whitenapteen · 17/10/2010 08:29

neam you want to be there for your daughter. Make tea, clean your teeth, sit her by you and put DVD on and cuddle.
christi you sound positive this morning. Hope Waterstones has the book.
Perrier we haven't quite reached the 'out til late/all night' stage yet but recognise the taxi service! Have a good day - hope your men/boys sneak a quick hug from mum.
Diabolik good luck again! Hope GF is OK this morning.

Hello everyone, well despite my poclaimations of how much I was looking forward to a dry weekend - I didn't have one :(

Long story but ended up getting leathered with a mate on friday night, then last night had 4 beers t take the edge of the hangover.

I had a surge of panic at 10 t 10, knowing I had no more beer left and that the shop shut in 10 mins, but managed to resist and opened a can of coke instead.

I'm s glad now that I ddnt go for more beers as I had to be up early for various different reasons and I have so much to do today(yesterday was a totally wasted day - spent most of it in bed)

I feel so mad at myself, but am just going to start again from now and try to be stronger, I don't want to be like this anymore.

dichotomy · 17/10/2010 09:43

*proclaimations

Whitenapteen · 17/10/2010 09:56

dichotomy - be prepared, have plenty of soft drinks ready and waiting to tackle the drink devil when (and it will) it nexts whispers in your ear. You know what you don't want - hangover, wasted time, guilt, anger. You know what you do want - clear head, positive outlook, no alcohol for today. You can do it.

morning indie, thaks for the support whitenap. I really want to do this, so many things have been affected because of my drinking (the house for one, is in a terrible state and I hate living in filth it depresses me)

Thinking of a postive drink-free future fills me with hope, but the reality of the situation I'm living in swings me right back down to the depths again.

It's so hard to try and keep hold of the positive attitude - but I am trying!

MorticiaPerrier · 17/10/2010 10:24

Wasindie How are you? Did the Echinacea work? Hope you got some rest, last week sounded tough! Smile
