Ah yes that Party. Nothing happened yet, at this stage DCs have not jumped at opportunity. But maybe tomorrow.....

On the snake front, really Starting, Shock, you are lowering the tone

Patienceobtainsallthings · 04/09/2010 00:23

Do you do snakes on the second date ?im so out of touch its been 16yrs since i was out on a date Confused

startingovernow · 04/09/2010 00:25

Blush I know Blush. It's not even really true, I just couldn't resist the good old snake joke Grin. Trys to recall which dumpling it was that started giggling asking a man for a sausage at a market stall last year. Tis the lack of sex.........Grin

Patience, think the majority adhere to the three date rule but really I guess it's anything goes & each to their own etc.......

Don't think I'll be doing any snakes tomorrow night though........Grin

Hope everyone is cool and funky !
My pants are all ASDA 3 pairs for £2 so need to work on that dept too!

teaandcakeplease · 04/09/2010 08:01

Nice shoes Starting! Very nice. Patience sounds like you dress like me, I'd wear that top and cardi myself. Nice.

Right better start cleaning.

startingovernow · 04/09/2010 11:20

Oh God wasn't showing off as I'm a really grounded person as you'll see from meet up. Those shoes, bags etc were from the days I had to do a lot of socialising with xh. My days of buying designer clothes are well & truly over but it's nice to have opportunity to pull some of them out again, as they're not exactly suitable for the school run Grin

gettingeasier · 04/09/2010 11:55

Starting you sound so glamorous ! When you said clogs my mind went to my new pair of basic old fashioned style clogs and then I clicked on the picture and pmsl at how I could have been so stupid Grin. I agree we dont get much chance to dress up so make the most of any opportunity.

Patience how are you feeling about your date now ? Any luck with the pumps or are you having a rethink after seeing Startings shoes Grin

Speaking of dates party man and I have finally got it together to fix a date next friday its 7 weeks ago we met so it could be very awkward evening. I would love to look drop dead gorgeous but none of my really nice stuff fits so I will just have to do my best !!

Well I have just cooked a meal for dc so feeling very pleased with myself , I have found it quite difficult to get back into routines of the household . Last night I had some awful dreams amd woke up feeling quite freaked out so its an effort to do anything.

I am meeting a friend for a coffee in town later on but otherwise the weekend is stretching ahead looking emptySad. My dc go off doing their own thing which is great I am glad they have their friends but today I am feeling a bit lonesome. Not helped by speaking to exh earlier and asking him if he was at home (needed him to look for something dd left there)and him saying no and it was obvious he was at ows house. Well of course hes going to be there but I suppose I have never thought about it and it made me feel sad that he has this whole other life meanwhile 8 months later I dont.

Anyway enough self pity hope everyone is enjoying their day

I have quite wide feet so struggle with heels but i could wear them Startin'I have heels very similar suede mules i think but m&s 10yrs ago ,i just hardly wear them .Just love this thread because you get some much random info but it inspires me in all depts .Tea how is the wee one ,did he have a good nite ?
Ok trying mammoth clean up done 2 washings so now clothes everywhere as well .......

Patienceobtainsallthings · 04/09/2010 12:19

Getting what about goin out for a run?Weather lovely here !Enjoy your meet up with friend, can you go onto a film or something ,i highly recommend toy story 3 x

gettingeasier · 04/09/2010 12:46

Patience M&S and New Look do really nice wide fit range , my feet are v wide too !

Its funny I am at stage with dc where dd goes off on her own into town etc but at 11 I need to be on hand in case something goes wrong or for when she decides to come home so its quite limiting iyswim ? Still I know in a couple of years she will be ok out and about and I am certainly not wishing the time away!

There are loads of things I could be doing (like that f***g outgoings list Grin)but I am just not in a positive mindset today so of course I find myself on MN looking for things that resonate or support !

Toy Story 3 was great I love animation

Getting, don't feel sad that you don't have the life your xh has, you really wouldn't want that for yourself. There's a price to be paid for dumping your family & jumping into something. Why not pamper yourself this weekend. Or just enjoy brousing MN. Your date is interested in you & will be impressed regardless of what you wear Smile

I love heels & wear them most days, even for school run Grin. These are similiar to ones I wore for first date my shoes

Hi everyone

Well, a pleasant Saturday so far.

And a bit of sport and guitar this afternoon will help.

Starting I am in Shock at your shoes, all lovely but I just could not walk in anyone. I will be looking for a sporty bloke I think so that we can wear flats.

Patience, you're right about the thread giving inspiration. And MN generally I think. Some may think we're a bit bonkers but actually I learn so much stuff on here about all sorts. Style and Beauty is always good for a dabble, so many on-line shopping sites I would never have known about otherwise.

Tea, hoping DN is ok today.

Getting, your life sounds very much like mine. In some ways I have it easier as DCs are older but what is strange is that they don't need you most of the time (or want much to do with you often unless it involves lifts or food or money!) but you do still need to be around and to work hard to make sure you do have some good times together. My DC's spend a lot of time out but I need to be around to make sure they eat properly and get what they need. If I went out all of the time like they do then we would never see each other at all.

For all the fashion lovers my most extravagent ever purchase which was after I took xh back last year & was a consolation gift to myself for trauma suffered mine is floor length. Still sitting in wardrope with labels attached so will be off loading it on ebay one of these days.

Also purchased this & have been know to wear it doing school run or gardening Grininsanity Shock

Tbh Patience I'd stick to flats if that is what you are more comfortable in. I am most comfortable in flip flops (only flat shoes I possess) or heels. My fav outfit is jeans, heels & casual top like the one you posted Smile. The other clothes were only for attending functions with xh. I buy most of my clothes now in next etc & tend to only buy stuff that's at least half price. Bought these last wk in light brown colour & they are fab & so comfortable shoes again!
