Come and join us lovely lady x

Armbow I would go skinny jeans with that top if you can get away with them but remember your top must always cover your widest part so if for example I am all tummy and arse so
my tops come down to mid thigh to cover my bad bits x

Have just got in am just going to sort out my bits for tonight and will get on the case what happened with the maxi dress?

armbow · 10/08/2010 15:56

I have a maxi dress now but feel self conscious in it Hmm i wore it yesterday (do i get a gold star? Grin)

armbow · 10/08/2010 17:05

hi mumfun hope everything is well with you

startingovernow · 10/08/2010 18:15

Still haven't had a chance to catch up on thread but will do so over next few days. My dog has come back from kennels with the worst case of fleas you could imagine & what appears to be kennel cough. Have washed her twice & tried to brush out as many as I can but am really upset. The owner of the kennels is a friend of mine & runs a rescue centre Shock. Does this sound normal or am I over reacting?? This seems unacceptable to me.

armbow · 10/08/2010 18:41

no this does not sound normal starting.

i would be cross about the fleas. i know the kennels we used to use insisted that all dogs who were to use the kennels were vaccinated against kennel cough because it is so contagious.

hope your dog is ok soon. sounds awkward though if it is run by a friend of yours.

Patienceobtainsallthings · 10/08/2010 18:52

AB love you have found a big old tree ,i bet he is handsome and very chunky, did you give him a group hug and feel his energies ?

Patienceobtainsallthings · 10/08/2010 19:06

Starting ...hedgehogs and stuff are covered in fleas so a bit like kids getting lice i think, terriers are bad for sticking their noses in things so we are used to it here ,i use frontline for ticks etc but ask the vet cause fleas can cause worms ,Got to vet get a thorough service ,LOL... get dog a thorough service no harm getting vet stuff for fleas and might need antibiotics, vet will check temp heart and lungs x

Patienceobtainsallthings · 10/08/2010 19:14

Candle stuff arrived so will experiment later ....well done AB re writing .
Waves to Jem x
Nursery visit went well today both kids didnt want to leave,
Goin to email more folk re premises had some new ideas ,
All good ladies,
also started reading lundy bancroft book again it makes me go to sleep but it is a very good book ,i think it is all very tiring emotionally if that makes sense, can only manage a chapter at a time, big hugs everyone,
ps wots wrong with spiders everyone ?

Loved that black dress AB have you bombed it out ?

startingovernow · 10/08/2010 19:15

I can understand that the kennel cough (if that's what she has) can just be one of those things that happen. However I can't understand that the dog was covered with hundreds of fleas & nobody noticed or treated her.........

Patienceobtainsallthings · 10/08/2010 19:25

Mmmm bedding could have been infested but we had a JRT crawling after 1min of hedgehog investigations, pain in the arse i know ,car house etc will have to be treated .

beebers · 10/08/2010 19:33

starting if you have them in the house the council can come and de flea for you. its quite cheap too.

startingovernow · 10/08/2010 19:36

Oh shite, have kept her outdoors since I realised but have been wondering about house & car (she was only inside briefly as I noticed straight away). What do I need to do to treat house & car??

Patienceobtainsallthings · 10/08/2010 20:02

Get stuff from the vet i hate mega chemicals in the car but better than fleas x
have you started scratching yet Grin sorry not funny ....pain in the arse TBH

teaandcakeplease · 10/08/2010 20:26

Right finally caught up

Happy - thanks for your lovely post, I will never ever be as articulate as WWIFN and I can only comment on situations I am familiar with really but I truly love getting alongside other women on mumsnet and telling them what I learnt the hardway Smile Probably why I've been absent so much from this thread as I'm elsewhere trying to support and encourage all these poor women who've suffered the same as us Sad

AB - I did my tax credits application all by phone and it was processed super fast. Can't you call them and "lay the smack down?" Wink

Pink - yes my settings are continuous, I love it! I flip threads if I want to read them the otherway round without masses of mouse scrolling required. IYSWIM?

Starting - glad you had a lovely holiday, why do you have to repeat the first year of the course again? Can they not start you on the second year instead? What's the course? I'm starting an OU one in Sept as I've mentioned, at least I hope I am, haven't heard much since my application.

Getting - it was your e-mail that made me decide to sort it out and catch up on the thread Smile Really loved hearing all about your holiday adventures Smile

Jem - how are you love?

pinksmarties · 10/08/2010 20:40

Hello Jem and welcome to this lovely thread.

Armbow......can't stop looking at that model with the black dress.......stunning.

Starting, I'd be really peed off about the fleas. We sprayed the house once with something called acclaim....was very expensive.

Flea bites are SO ITCHY.

Hope you're ok Mumfun.....you sound very busy.

Enjoy your time without DC Getting, before you know it they'll be back.

You ok Happy ?

Think I had PMT today, hard to tell though, was in crap mood......had a nice snooze for an hour. Ok now. x

armbow · 10/08/2010 20:47

patience - no could not hug there is a massive fence around it and a sign saying 200 year old tree !!! Grin not ruled out the black dress but am planning to check out the returns policy just in case Hmm

wonder how beebs is getting on and if she is being successful hiding her bitten boob Grin

Patienceobtainsallthings · 10/08/2010 22:31

I want that black dress Smile
We could all get one and wear it to "meet up" LOL with designer shades Grin
Pity about tree hugging AB but how lovely to have an ancient arborial friend so close to home.
Spoke to soon to be XH and felt dis connected in away i havent felt throughout all 16yrs of my life with him. Will now be strictly business...... maintenance and access .

beebers · 10/08/2010 23:58

i am back was not unsuccessful bitten boob was not an issue.

the fucking spider is now working its way up the stairs where do i find a conker at this time of night.

pinksmarties · 11/08/2010 01:19

Oh Beebers.......it's much more frightened of you than you are of it.

Can you throw things at it to make it bog off........or have you got a big glass saucepan lid or something that you can put over it.

It really doesn't want to be anywhere near you.

Smile
teaandcakeplease · 11/08/2010 07:34

I'm a bit late to reply really but the first time I caught a spider myself after being very brave, I was quite proud of myself, although I felt seriously itchy after disposing of it! You can do it Beebers!

armbow · 11/08/2010 08:01

morning ladies the rain has left today and the sun is shining !!! Off to park with dcs and a friend this morning.

how's the spider beebs?

beebers · 11/08/2010 09:13
