getting and starting glad that you both had good times on your hols - this past week seems to have gone by really really quickly.

starting - its always those words v. actions that catches them out every time - or so i am learning.

LC - it is awful when they just roll over isn't it - all i ever wanted was for h to fight for us but he never did.

patience - i went for a lovely walk in the park today with the dcs and we found a 200 year old copper birch tree - it made me think of you Smile i stood under it for a while and thought about what that tree would have seen over the years.... could be i have found myself my own tree like yours - it is about a 2 minute walk from my new house.

ooooo beebs good luck with your date Envy
i too had my first practical dumpling test tonight - ds1 got a pea up his nostril and i sorted it on my own Grin ...kids gotta love 'em !!!!!!

hope you are ok tea

waves at party, happy and all other dumplings

startingovernow · 09/08/2010 23:55

Waves again to all.....

pmsl at pea up ds's nose Armbow Grin.

Beebers, I empathise fully re spider as I really really hate them & dread finding a huge one. The only practical advice I can give you is to suck it up with hoover, leave hoover running for awhile & then just to be sure to be sure put hoover locked in a room your not using. I do this & seems to solve prob. Am also reminded that 9 times out of 10 when xh tried to catch a spider he usually managed to drop it & spider would then escape never to be seen again.

armbow · 09/08/2010 23:55

need opinions on

this... are horizontal details bad?

armbow · 10/08/2010 00:00

starting - he was demonstrating a scene from toy story 3 where one of the kids gets a bit of mr. potato head stuck up their nose - i have to admit he did panic for a while but it eventually worked its way free.

startingovernow · 10/08/2010 00:01

Armbow dress looks really fab. I love dresses like these but always need to try them on first as if fabric is too elasticated it makes my bum look huge. . After holls & maintenance being cut need to keep focus on essentials such as paying my well overdue bills & obtaining food..........Blush

beebers · 10/08/2010 00:02

Remind me - What size are you because that will cling to every little lump and bump. going to bed now but I need occasion and budget and tomorrow will find you lovely outfit that wil make men weep at your beauty x

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 10/08/2010 00:03

Well up again as DS appears to have been sent home from sleep over! By the smell of him they must have decided that they didn't want a house smelling like a fag shop!

Well Beebers I can hardly see those stripes. Nice dress but needs an excellent figure I would say to carry it off. And I'm sure you have one ! X

startingovernow · 10/08/2010 00:05

Beebers, I don't need the outfit but would be most grateful if you could find me men that will weep at my beauty.........Grin

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 10/08/2010 00:06

Oops sorry now realise the dress link was yours AB - same comment applies!

armbow · 10/08/2010 00:11

right yes horizontal stripes not good - I have a large rear Grin

the best way i can describe my figure really is by likening it to a famous person - i have davina mccall's shape (heavy bottom half) - but am 5'11'' and a 12/14.

i can see now that this dress may not be for me but i don't suit a-line dresses or skirts either .

occasion is another night on the tiles ... don't want to look like a mum this time.. want to look effortlessly chic, i like simple styles and clean lines.

will carry on hunting and coming back for opinions !!!!

armbow · 10/08/2010 00:12

off to bed now x

Patienceobtainsallthings · 10/08/2010 00:38

Dress looks good AB ,good underwear and you'll be cool
FFS Startin hoovering up spiders how to you catch the damn thing all sounds a bit like housework to me.Now rats i dont like them but mice i can cope with.

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 10/08/2010 06:50

AB suggest dress over jeans type look

Think would be good as you are tall and best to avoid anything waisted if you have a larger bottom half. But then maybe that's more for daytime

littlecritter · 10/08/2010 08:12

Apparently, spiders hate conkers.

armbow · 10/08/2010 09:41

i do like that look Happy

teaandcakeplease · 10/08/2010 10:12

I'm hopelessly behind on this thread now as I'm lurking and posting elsewhere at the moment but Starting you need one of these I've known of spiders climbing out of hoovers again Shock

armbow · 10/08/2010 10:16

this with wide leg black trousers????

armbow · 10/08/2010 10:17

morning tea hope you are well

jeminthecellar · 10/08/2010 10:19

Hi can I join this thread?

My husband left 2 months ago. My son is staying with him, which is hard, the 2 girls are staying with me. I work part time. He has moved next door to my best frind..again this is difficult, we keep 'bumping' into one another.

teaandcakeplease · 10/08/2010 10:22

Hello Jem welcome to the most supportive thread on mumsnet (I like to think) for dumplings Wink

armbow · 10/08/2010 10:30

Hi Jem

Of course you can join, this is a great thread I joined it about 6 weeks ago and the support on here is fantastic feel free to let it all out and talk to us about your story and we will try to help as much as we can.

how old are your dcs?

armbow · 10/08/2010 10:32

lc - pmsl at spiders hate conkers is this a scientific fact? Grin

teaandcakeplease · 10/08/2010 10:33

My mum puts conkers in her rooms in the corners too.

gettingeasier · 10/08/2010 14:19

Welcome Jem -what armbow said !

Well my dumpling power enabled me to keep back my tears until after the dc were picked up and taken away for 12 days . I have never been away from them for longer than a week beforeSad. I am sure they will have a lovely time though and thats what matters.

Hello Starting I am glad you had a lovely holiday too . I liked your "keeping my side of the street clean " phrase thats what I want to do again after a brief flirtation with rude unhelpful bitch ex wife which I actually didnt enjoy [hmmm]

Pink how are you today ? Have as much of my elation as you need as its currently in abundant supply Grin

BB you are having a time of it with your tits and toes !! You and armbow are inspiring me to start thinking about making more of an effort with my clothes again . Dont want to end up the dowdy dumpling Grin

Ah there you are Tea I thought we might have to send a search party .. hope you are ok

Spiders and conkers ? What happens when it isnt October ?

I am off to meet the only dumpling I know in RL and I think I might look around the shops a bit (avoiding horizontal stripes)beforehand. As I cant change the dc going I am determined to put a positive spin on it and focus on the freedomn and no cooking angle Grin

Waves to Patience Happy and any other dumplings
