Oh no Pink ! I am guessing from your tone and panic its not something that can be replaced ? Keep looking you never know .. also can someone help fresh eyes and all that ?

Starting when you get a minute tell us again how to move around pages without losing what you write - I am sooo hopeless with these things.

teaandcakeplease · 27/07/2010 21:58

Ahhh there you all are!

Finished making DD's cake for tomorrow and saved it into my pictures on mumsnet.

Still a shed load to do before the party begins at 3pm but H is coming over so he can watch the kids whilst I run about. He's useful for something Hopefully he'll manage watching them without getting too stressed!

startingovernow · 27/07/2010 22:01

Waves to all...........

Doha, come in & join the fold .

Pink/Getting, ok my way is that as your typing your message & then want to flick back a page hightlight what you've written then press "ctrl & c" to copy, move back page & then press "ctrl & v" to paste back in whatever you'd already typed. Tea however say that if you go into your mn settings you can set your settings so that it will be a continuous thread without pages so that's prob easier option for some .

Getting, you're not a stalker at all it's only normal to be curious about people's stories. I never actually had a thread myself & only joined MN when this thread started. You can do an advanced search of the poster's name to bring up all their posts. I only started posting in Nov when this thread started up. If you ever need a laugh go back to our Dec posts which are completely hilarious but somewhat for me

Beebers, so sorry to hear about your toe, I know it can be a v painful thing & v awkward with shoes etc. Enjoy the new wardrope & hope you're doing ok.

Tea, hope you had a lovely party today.

Patience, am visualising money attached to you

Pink, oh sorry to hear you've lost something precious. Did you say a prayer to St Anthony?? (can't remember if you believe or not). Or do you believe in angels, if so ask them to help you find it. You actually don't need to believe in the angels for it to work. A few times after spending days looking for something I'll remember to ask & it's actually worked more often then not. You need to just quietly ask then to find whatevers missing to give you a clear message as to where it is. If you don't get an answer right there that min go off & make a cup of tea & ans should come later. I know at this point a lot of you will think I'm certifable insane but believe it or not this has worked for me so many times.

Mumfun, no idea who your helper was but I'd gladly have him help me any day of the week.

Getting, I have laughed so many times today about your window cleaner. Was also thinking when lack of sex hits hard he could start to look like a v attractive offer yet

Waves to Happy, Armbow, LC et al

teaandcakeplease · 27/07/2010 22:01

Getting at the top right now as you read this thread just below mumsnet talk is a little tab called "Customize" go in there and go down to "other options", then look for "messages per page" and select "Unlimited" no more page scrolling.

teaandcakeplease · 27/07/2010 22:03

Party is tomorrow Starting, just been running about organising today and making the cake.

startingovernow · 27/07/2010 22:08

Oh Tea, I never knew you'd set up a profile. You are stunning looking & your dc's are gorgeous. I absolutely cannot believe you managed to make such a fab cake, you are brilliant. You're dd will be so so happy with that, what a superstar mum! Three cheers for Tea's brilliantness . Thought party was today but have a super time tomorrow.......

beebers · 27/07/2010 22:18

bloody hell teaandcake i am impressed, if i had known you had those sorts of skills i would not have shelled out £26 to waitrose the other week.

toe is ok, it appears to have its own pulse though. i have eased the pain by purchasing a new mirror off ebay which is a little bit over the top. my bedroom is starting to resemble marie antoinette's boudoir.

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 27/07/2010 22:20

This is a test

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 27/07/2010 22:21

Ah it works

startingovernow · 27/07/2010 22:22

Dumplings a strange thing happened this morn. You might recall I posted that xh had won a prize & that I'd emailed letting him know how to collect it & then got twuntish email back from him. Well this morn I received a cheque in the post for £75 from same place, at first I thought it must be some error & that it was xh's prize. When I checked it further it was amazingly a second win from same place but this time I was the lucky winner. I was so amazed after all our years of doing this that we scooped two prizes in one week! It gave me a real feel good factor all day as I thought it was the universe's way of thanking me for doing right thing with xh's prize (had been tempted to keep it ).

Also from what I can gather maintenance cheque bouncing was an error.

Eldest dd was going to the cinema this evening so despite xh's twuntedness decided to text to see if he wanted to see other two before holls. It would have been a good opportunity as eldest dd does not want to see him atm. Nada response, which I more or less expected. Still I try to live by the philosophy of disregarding the other person's behaviour & just doing the next right thing so I wasn't too bothered one way or the other. However he did send out envelopes with pictures drawn on the front for each dc with spending money for holls inside so not all bad I guess

startingovernow · 27/07/2010 22:26

Actually Tea I genuinely mean this but I really think you could make a lot of money by making party cakes like that to sell.........

Beebers, glad you're finding appropriate ways to ease your suffering

Testing 1,2,3, Happy..........glad to report we receive you loud & clear

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 27/07/2010 22:28

Ground control to Major Tom

beebers · 27/07/2010 22:30

Can I ask your opinion ladies.

My dad who is a lovely man but at sixty five is still somewhat a mummy's boy still (he is lucky enough to have both his parents still) however, they are both quite elderley and are frail, they also upset easily.

I have refrained from telling them what is happenng as I don't like upsetting them, it all but near killed them when i got divorced.

My dad is insistent that I don't tell them, however, I am worried about the kids dropping me in it if I visit. My nan maybe frail but she it is nigh on impossible to pull the wool over her eyes (I assume this is from living under the stairs during the blitz ).

However, old as they maybe, they could last another ten years by which time I am hoping that I may have met someone else. I doubt they are not going to notice as I try and palm him off as 'exdp'

what do you think?

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 27/07/2010 22:35

So Beebers is an eBay whiz
Patience is top for serenity
Tea is quite naturally good at cakes
Starting can make money out of nothing
Pink can make all kinds of things
Not sure what I can do cept music
Any more for any more?

startingovernow · 27/07/2010 22:37

Beebers, I believe you are doing a disrespect to old people by not being honest with them. I do however thing when someone is elderly & frail we can spare them from the gorey details & just keep it factual. I would just inform them of split (anything else is being dishones & not good for dc's) but I would put a v v brave face on it to spare them the worry etc. My mil was v elderly & I never burdoned her with the details but did inform her that I'd split from xh but only after enough time had passed that I knew it couldn't be resolved with xh. Tbh my mil was v intune & even though I didn't give her details she didn't need to know she knew xh was v mentally unwell & we did discuss this. I was v close to her & didn't want to cause her any unnecessary pain but the truth was unavoidable.

beebers · 27/07/2010 22:40

my dad says that we should only give them good news. i know its not his decision to make but i don't think i can face telling them at the moment. i also don't want to feel judged they are very old school have been married for almost seventy years and even though they despised by exhusband they were angry at me when i left him. they can't understand why me and exp never married and do not think its right to have children 'out of wedlock' when they send me letters they address it to my first name plus my exp's surname so the postman doesn't talk!

i also have very judgy aunts, uncles and cousins and i don't want to feel their twin stares of smugness raining down on me.
