Thanks to witchmountain for the last thread and to dadx3 for Godfathering them! Also to any other posters whose ideas I have borrowed for the title.

An excellent theory Woodencat - thank you for emerging from the shadows to post that. If they eradicate Roy it would also make it much easier to airbrush Phoebe. Let's be honest, would she realistically return from Oxford to live in Ambridge anyway? Personally I would miss him - I don't want all the peripheral characters to be silent. I'd rather have Roy than Hannah for instance since he at least has a hinterland. Grey Gables is becoming the new cereal cupboard with Cathy and Kirsty locked up in silence there.

I just wonder if Lexi wouldn't be an admirable replacement for Geraldine?

But only when she shakes off this weird 'malaise' that seems to have descended on her.

She's super-driven, efficient and organised. Lower Loxley would be whipped into shape in no time

And any nonsensical histrionics from Elizabeth would be given the short shrift they properly deserve.

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2018 12:23

T'would be a problem if Lexi is in Bulgaria Baxter Grin

TheEfficientBaxter · 21/11/2018 12:38

Yes it would, ppeatfruit, but I don't think she will go back.

I can see her marrying Roy and bringing her daughters to live in Ambridge.

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2018 12:46

That would be nice, and makes sense, but maybe not dramatic enough for the producers Grin

Ye gods, that Gucci outfit is hideous. It reminds me why I don't follow the diktats of fashion! (It is current fashion, isn't it. Or is it a photo from the 80s? Or fancy dress?)

TheEfficientBaxter · 21/11/2018 13:08

We'll have to wait and see, I suppose Grin

It could go either way ⬅➡ Hmm

witchmountain · 21/11/2018 15:24

R4 who knows? It’s what happens when you type ‘blue jacket big lapels’ into google images Halloween Grin

TheEfficientBaxter · 21/11/2018 16:01

OMG! 'diktats' sent my mind veering off at a tangent for which I was woefully unprepared 😲 🤭Blush

I need Wine

TheEfficientBaxter · 21/11/2018 16:05

Or better still ☕ and 🍩

TheEfficientBaxter · 21/11/2018 16:09

No, Wine!

< whispers > can chaps even have that bit of them tattooed? I dare not google it.

TaurielTest · 21/11/2018 16:24

I thought that Lexi's sudden lack of brio, along with the tiredness, was meant to signal pregnancy. If it doesn't (and it seems not to unless she's deliberately misleading Ian and Adam / she's not yet aware of it, neither of which seem likely) I agree that it's a bit rubbish. She's suddenly all huffy and petulant.

EBearhug · 21/11/2018 16:29

can chapseven havethat bit of them tattooed? I dare not google it.

Yes. There are some very elaborate ones out there, which can be found by googling (though not while at work. )

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2018 16:32

Oh I suddenly got what you meant Baxter purleeese no no no Aaaaah brain bleach purleese!!

And yes you probably (well not you obviously) can get such bonkers things, there's nowt as strange as folks. Women have them ""down there" don't they? I'm just guessing of course I know they have jewellery. .

Lexi can’t go to work at LL; she and Lizzie would never be able to look each other in the eye knowing that they had both experienced Roy’s manhood being unleashed from his polyester slacks.

Minimammoth · 21/11/2018 18:59

I apologise for this very bad thought. Perhaps Adam and Lexi might try a bit of natural insemination. I’ll get me coat.

visitorthedog · 21/11/2018 19:00

Hello, I don’t post very often school you don’t mind me joining in? I was thinking that Jenny and Brian might decide to take Peggy up on her offer of helping to keep the farmhouse but she’ll not have enough money if she keeps paying for Christine’s care?

JessieMcJessie · 21/11/2018 19:04

mini Lexi was clear that she would only carry an embryo from a donated egg, so she wouldn’t be biologically related it it.

Minimammoth · 21/11/2018 19:15

Oh thank you Jessie, I can erase my wicked thoughtGrin

InkySplatter · 21/11/2018 20:17

It's likely Peggy won't be able to do it all and how will she explain her sudden lack of funds?

I can't bear that Christine's pride is the only reason Peggy has to fork out for her care. Her shame about Matt Crawford wouldn't have to be public, but Lillian & Justin should be the ones supporting her.

AngelinaNeurosurgeon · 21/11/2018 20:28

I thought Lily got a combination of A* and As.

MadameButterface · 21/11/2018 21:20

Lexi will probs be a brexit bride

MadameButterface · 21/11/2018 21:24

Agree that auntie cardboard’s care home fees are going to put the home farm rescue down the shitter and everything will kick right off.

DadDadDad · 21/11/2018 22:10

As an aside, after @Eastpoint cast aspersions upthread on my actuarialness (totally a real word), I've started a thread from our Liverpool conference. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3430246-Liverpool-ACC-for-a-conference-today-Any-other-MNetters-there.

I think the consensus is that Lexi is not pregnant, but I feel like the SW are hinting there's something else that she's not telling us - a new man back in Bulgaria? - or is it genuinely that she's done a Shula and is just not feeling it anymore?
