Oooh, DDD!

Cryptic and pertinent - I like it!

< Cambridge, obviously 😁 >

Getabloominmoveon · 20/11/2018 21:24

Agree with you echt , and actually think Brian probably has 'still got it'.

MadameButterface · 20/11/2018 21:37

“Thinking a bit longer term are they setting up a conflict between the twins at LL? Agree Lily will stay as the new Geraldine. But when Freddie gets out he's going to need a job and won't have much chance of a decent one because of his conviction. Job at LL would be the answer (heir apparent etc) but it cant support both of them.”

Lily can take a year out then start again when Freddie gets out. He will annoy her hugely by not being as clever and efficient as she is. Someone will say ‘hey aren’t you that famous drug dealer’. There will be problems with the licence. Elizabeth will be useless. 🔮

No one would call their tutor “in this daynage”. An email to explain missing an actual tutorial, maybe, if they’re well brought up.

LassWiADelicateAir · 20/11/2018 22:19

Were Tom and Roy always besties? What was all that rushing to console Roy all about?

JessieMcJessie · 20/11/2018 22:56

Wasn’t Roy Tom’s best man for his non-wedding to Kirsty?

witchmountain · 20/11/2018 22:58

Roy was very supportive of Tom after the jilting at the altar incident, wasn’t he?

BOOP for Brian tonight, I enjoyed that!

KingscoteStaff · 20/11/2018 22:59

So whose was the pickup?

LassWiADelicateAir · 20/11/2018 23:09

Brian and Will were both good.

BertrandRussell · 20/11/2018 23:23

Why does Will appear to have forgotten how to be a gamekeeper?

C8H10N4O2 · 20/11/2018 23:32

Why does Will appear to have forgotten how to be a gamekeeper?

He is capable but had the kind of momentary panic which bad managers can induce. He was prepared for this kind of situation but works for someone who neither understands his work or cares about it beyond the bottom line and would dispose of him without a second thought. That doesn't engender confident staff willing to take a risk or make late changes.

I wouldn't work for someone like Martin.

C8H10N4O2 · 20/11/2018 23:33

Were Tom and Roy always besties?

They go back a long way as good friends - back to John's death and Roy marrying Hayley I think. Its not a friendship which the LSWs have really used much in recent years.

C8H10N4O2 · 20/11/2018 23:37

She was sharp, funny and acerbic and they've turned her into a moaning wet weekend.

I don't like the transformed Lexi either. I find it quite credible that she has been away at home and Ambridge/Roy is no longer what she wants but I don't find the avoider aspect credible.

AlecOrAlonzo · 20/11/2018 23:51

Is Lily still at uni do you think? Could she have crashed out already and just be waitressing or something to fund The Lecherous Lecturer's louche lifestyle?

DadDadDad · 21/11/2018 00:16

AlecOrAlonzo - bonus points for the alliteration - always appreciated round this parts.

Fink · 21/11/2018 06:05

I take the point about not being missed for a few days - although some of us went to universities where you were required to be resident a specified number of nights in order to complete the year, which meant not much scope to be elsewhere.

We had this. I can't remember how long it was before I worked out that nobody actually stuck to it, nobody told the porters if they were going home for the weekend. No hard-core Maths lectures for me, I had the laidback lifestyle of a humanities student.

BitOutOfPractice · 21/11/2018 07:16

Remind me what Lily is studying...

Eastpoint · 21/11/2018 07:23

We’ve never been told what she’s studying, or even worked out which A levels she did.

BolleauxtoBankers · 21/11/2018 07:32

Did Lily not do at least French and German A levels? And maybe English or History?
I'm just back from visiting my own child at Manchester University - frankly, it's a marvel Lily managed to get out of there alive if she was driving - the road-works, traffic, and lack of respect for other road users were shocking! Though mine is post-grad, taught, I would be surprised from what she said that anyone would notice if she didn't attend a couple of classes, even though they only have 8 lectures/classes (no seminars) a week!

BertrandRussell · 21/11/2018 07:46

She did French,German and Geography, didn't she? Two As and a B.

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2018 08:57

Ref. Susan ...total self delusion .. sums her up most of the time Baxter !!

Coming out of lurkerdom as I have a theory about Roy ... he will leave for Bulgaria as this completes the editors’ / an editor’s (VW?) desire to write the Tucker family out of the Archers. Since moi Beddy died, they have got rid of Brendurr, who is never mentioned, gave Moike an interesting storyline with remarriage and Bethany but exiled them to somewhere, split Roy and Hayley, who could have been brilliant local community stalwarts, exiled Hayley, and that left dull old Roy. He’s hardly the character to carry any sort of storyline other than being the butt of comic jibes about his dress sense, so he can be exiled to Bulgaria and the whole family has been disappeared, but so gradually that no one noticed.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 21/11/2018 09:24

I agree Roy might go. Then Phoebe will live with Jenny they will all stay at Home Farm.

But before he goes, Roy will tell The Truth about Tom's blue jacket, and the scales will fall from Tom's eyes.

Fink · 21/11/2018 09:29

She did French,German and Geography, didn't she? Two As and a B.

I thought it was Biology, German, and English lit.

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2018 09:37

But we can't have the 'silent' Kathy managing GG. She's annoying, maybe Kirstie could take over Roy's role there.
