And there’s some rubbish about an ex-stripper policeman?

Freddy's a little shit and I have no sympathy for him.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 06/08/2018 10:41

Shula will be insufferable. I can't wait.

She'll be smug as anything about Dan 'turning out so well' and it will seep into everything she says and does with Freddie even if she doesn't utter the words.

But Freddie should be grateful - doesn't he have his own pony? He could ride and make himself useful. Lots of people would be very envious!

Do you think Adam will cop on about Freddie dealing to the pickers and sack him? Leaving eth crops to rot, of course, since everyone else has also left.

ppeatfruit · 06/08/2018 11:39

If he's on bail now how long before the real truth is revealed and he's back inside? Would he get bail again?

Bekabeech · 06/08/2018 12:16

Freddie's Horse (kind of) died last week!

ADarkandStormyKnight · 06/08/2018 12:33

He had his own - Casper?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 06/08/2018 13:10

Freddie got his own pony and Lily got to go on the school trip to Paris.

Which seems fair. Hmm

MrsArthurShappey · 06/08/2018 13:29

I don't know any posh entitled teenage boys - how realistic was that whining? Bloody annoying however realistic it was.

MrsArthurShappey · 06/08/2018 13:29

Also, Elizabeth didn't sound nearly angry enough did she?

Minimammoth · 06/08/2018 13:46

Picturing Adam toiling in the fields alone, Poldark style, trying to attract the attention of any remaining pickers

Bekabeech · 06/08/2018 13:51

I think Elizabeth was poleaxed and just doing what needed to be done. She hasn't had time to take it in, but she does need to make him confess to everything.

MrsArthurShappey · 06/08/2018 14:10

Beka yes you're right, having to sort out solicitors completely out of the blue must be a nightmare.

mini ew

Bibesia · 06/08/2018 14:24

I don't understand why Freddie wouldn't have been allowed to return home. I thought it was normally a factor in refusing bail that someone has no fixed abode? Why create precisely that situation?

Gruach · 06/08/2018 15:00

Bloody annoying however realistic it was.

Harsh, MrsAS! Grin

Tbh I’d have expected him to be either too terrified to speak at all or to have succumbed to old-fashioned hysterics and threatened Terrible Things. So his actual response seemed restrained.

And Elizabeth - well, she’s seen tragedy already - she must be numb with shock.

EBearhug · 06/08/2018 15:03

I don't understand why Freddie wouldn't have been allowed to return home.

In case they need to search again, in case he has other supplies hidden about the place?

In any case, he has plenty of options round the village. I suspect that if everywhere else had burnt to the ground or something, the Bull or Brookfield would have put him up; they said no, knowing they weren't his last resort. At worst, Elizabeth could have afforded him a night at Grey Gables or Ambridge Hall or even a Premier Inn or Travel Lodge on the Borchester bypass.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 06/08/2018 15:15

Lily sounded angry more than she sounded surprised - Elizabeth might pick up on that eventually.

Gruach · 06/08/2018 19:16

Who was the clever person who predicted that?

Travelledtheworld · 06/08/2018 19:16

Well surely the big Asian wedding will be alcohol free anyway ?

Stickerrocks · 06/08/2018 19:20

Alcohol flowed freely at a big Sikh wedding I went to.

So Lily, Lizzie & Kate all know for starters that it wasn't an isolated incident. Kate is renowned for keeping her mouth shut. It looks as though Freddie's troubles are only just beginning.

Mootsie · 06/08/2018 19:45

Quick Kenton, get in there with an outside bar licence.

Kerrrching!

I used to know lots - I was the mother of one. I think Freddy is the most realistic character in the cast. It's exaggerated as the ones I knew, including my own, were not quite as whiny as Freddy and not as selfish but the tone of bewilderment Freddy gets when he has to sort things out on his own is realistic.

Gruach · 06/08/2018 20:25

Oh. Here’s something I hadn’t seen on the death of the actress who played Ursula Titchener.

MikeUniformMike · 06/08/2018 20:27

Thanks Gruach.

LassWiADelicateAir · 06/08/2018 20:31

Thanks Gruach. Ursula was deliciously horrible.

D0do · 06/08/2018 20:34

Oh, that's sad. I dimly remember her from Crossroads, as my mum watched it for a time in the early 70s. It was dire, but I expect that paid the bills and enabled Ms Jones to fit in her NT work as well.

DowntownDallas · 06/08/2018 20:39

Same at Hindu plus bottles of spirits on every table to be drunk neat.
