And there’s some rubbish about an ex-stripper policeman?

Clever DDD. Grin

BikingBeatrix · 17/08/2018 19:38

That was indeed a tedious episode but it is great to hear the groom solving a crime.

glamorousgrandmother · 17/08/2018 19:53

Wueen's navee - Queen's Navy as per Gilbert and Sullivan I would assume.

DadDadDad · 17/08/2018 20:27

Doh - Queens is totes obvs now you say it. I'm an idiot.

witchmountain · 17/08/2018 20:42

As an aside I listened to Barbara Taylor Bradford’s Desert Island Discs episode earlier and she really reminded me of Lynda Snell. It’s in the podcast archive 2000-2005 if anyone’s interested.

echt · 18/08/2018 03:04

I rather liked it: low-key, a bit daft.

BertrandRussell · 18/08/2018 06:32

Surely the Susan /llama thing is complete bollocks. Why on earth would she do something like that?

Gruach · 18/08/2018 06:55

Can’t help thinking none of the SWS were at all interested in the wedding. The most exciting preparatory event was choosing Jazzer to be bridesman - but it was a silent role! And writing the wedding day as a quest to make him dull and ordinary ...

Have almost given up hope of there being some actual point to the llama business. Harrison as Sherlock is not sufficient.

Travelledtheworld · 18/08/2018 07:24

Susan wouldn't even go near a Llama, let alone steal one. She would be afraid of it spitting at her, smelling nasty etc.

Otherwise I enjoyed the wedding. But there didn't seem to be many people at the reception. Thought it would be the sort of thing the whole village would be invited to.

DadDadDad · 18/08/2018 08:04

Also, Jolene quickly changed the subject when the llama came up. Maybe she instigated it but got Susan involved - I can imagine after a few drinks and encouragement to “live dangerously” Susan might have helped with llama-jacking.

Been away for a few weeks and just catching up on bits and pieces (Ignoring the episodes that seem boring - rather nice way of doing TA). Don't really understand the posters saying that a spell inside would do Freddie P a world of good. What possible value can accrue to him or to society in him being beaten up, terrorised and bum-raped in a violent, drug-filled institution? For selling pills that no-one, but no-one, has been forced to buy and take? Also agree it is inconceivable that the Pargetters would not have instantly hired the best criminal legal advice and representation that money could buy and worked out a strategy, rather than leaving Freddie to flounder alone without representation and then hoped for the best at the magistrate's hearing. But I suppose the script writers couldn't actually show how money buys better legal advice (I know! this is shocking news!) and therefore better outcomes for richer, well-connected young idiots.

Quite looking forward to the Lily-Russ denouement. Couldn't give a toss about Fallon and her boring husband. Keen to see whether Home Farm actually gets sold.

Peartree17 · 18/08/2018 10:44

Also, has Lexi just upped and left for good? without telling Roy?

extinctspecies · 18/08/2018 10:55

No, Lexi has just gone home to Bulgaria for the summer to see her daughters. Roy took her to the airport (and Ian & Adam said a protracted goodbye).

We expect her back at some undetermined point.

extinctspecies · 18/08/2018 10:56

The llama episode was just there to inject a bit of humour wasn't it, which has been notable by it's absence?

Although I missed the theft episode, just heard the aftermath.

R4 · 18/08/2018 11:03

Although I missed the theft episode

There was no theft episode. it was a Saturday night. The listeners didn't know the culprit until Harrison said.

I'm not sure that Lexi is coming back.

extinctspecies · 18/08/2018 11:11

But we haven't been told Lexi's not coming back, have we?

Although i haven't been listening much lately so could have missed this.

But did hear the one where she went to the airport.

BikingBeatrix · 18/08/2018 11:36

I’m not sure Lexi lurves Roy quite as much as he lurves her, and certainly not as much as she lurves her girls and mum in Bulgaria.

AND a conception in autumn will mean a birth after Brexit. Could that be significant to the surrogacy arrangement? I really don’t know but I imagine there could be a problem over her residencyafter she loses FOM. She won’t have the income level to meet requirements of most countries where you have to apply for residency if there isn’t FOM etc. It could of course happen in soap land that quickly though l think TA team strive for realism in all things. Ha ha, hope you an all decipher all that..... l’d like to think it won’t happen so quickly for real people but who actually knows, even the ppl who ‘organised’ Brexit don’t know what’s going to happen.

BikingBeatrix · 18/08/2018 11:40

Plus Lexi and Roy won’t have a future if they can’t live in the same country and l can’t see Roy moving to Bulgaria, can you?

Peartree17 · 18/08/2018 11:50

Can't see Roy moving to Birmingham, never mind Bulgaria. OK, I just thought the way Lexi fled at the airport indicated that her real intentions were to go and not return, and she was avoiding uncomfortable confrontations with Roy and Ian/Adam.

DadDadDad · 18/08/2018 11:52

So, maybe Lexit means Lexit.

BikingBeatrix · 18/08/2018 11:59

Grin for both of you. I’m all typed out - it’s such hard work typing comprehensible posts on MN.

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/08/2018 12:05

The 🔮 predicts that Lexi will not be returning.

Gruach · 18/08/2018 12:09

D’you think she’s a victim of 97 editors pulling in different directions?

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/08/2018 12:13

Absolutely Gruach

TigerTeatimes · 18/08/2018 13:18

I totally agree peartree Freddie's incarceration would do no one any good.

Surprised at Kirsty's reaction to the lama episode.
