And there’s some rubbish about an ex-stripper policeman?

While I’m here -

  • I guess on her eighteenth birthday Rosie Ruth (poor cow) will decidede she hates her first two names and will only be known by the third from that day forward.

Jill (still rocking silently in a corner near the Aga) will rise from her chair and bake all her hatred into a cake. All lemon, no drizzle.

Exexexcel · 18/08/2018 15:07

😂😂😂

CraicMammy · 18/08/2018 19:01

Rosie Ruth is the name you’d give to a heifer

CraicMammy · 18/08/2018 19:02

Or an Eddie Stobart lorry

cheminotte · 18/08/2018 21:29

Just caught up with the wedding. Felt a bit sorry for Jazzer with his wardrobe and like pp am a bit sceptical about Susan as the llama kidnapper.

Guienne · 19/08/2018 00:53

rather than leaving Freddie to flounder alone without representation

He wasn't left, was he? He was represented by Usha's firm. Though I agree it seems highly unlikely that someone like Lizzie would have gone for the local all-purpose general practice law firm rather than an expensive barrister instructed by expensive specialist solicitors.

Bekabeech · 19/08/2018 07:39

I think peartree has a too negative opinion of British Prisons they are nothing like as bad as US ones. Anyway Freddie would surely go to a young offenders institution, which are aimed at offenders aged 18-20.
Although these are not necessarily much better, they are supposed to give more education.

DadDadDad · 19/08/2018 09:09

The perfect punishment for Freddy: two more years of studying... Shock

Stillnotready · 19/08/2018 11:48

I love lurking here, and just wanted to agree, Freddie is such a great actor. He is totally convincing unlike Pip, the worlds worst radio actress despite the unconvincing. story line that she’s some wonderous thing of Beauty and a gift to the future of farming.

Peartree17 · 19/08/2018 12:17

Well, unless 12 months has brought a radical and comprehensive change, it seems the prison inspectorate agrees with me:

BikingBeatrix · 19/08/2018 12:21

I’ve had a very confusing morning. Just as Jazzer introduced the band at the wedding, l heard a pipe band. I thought that’s odd, l don’t recall that from Friday. Yep, it’s highland games day here. Grin

Saffkat · 19/08/2018 14:05

He'll be fine in Felpersham YOI Peartree - different system in Borchester

MikeUniformMike · 19/08/2018 14:08

Have I mentioned that I hate Pip?
Jill will find out soon enough about Heifer/Eddie Stobart's other middle name.
Rosie Ruth is awful. I have nothing against either name but not together.

BikingBeatrix · 19/08/2018 14:25

Same here, MUM, l don’t mind the names - l’ve even got a personal connection to one of them - but together Rosie Ruth Archer is awful. Too many r sounds IMO. Grace is altogether a nicer name, even with its r, though l can see why they might not want to use it here. Though as Jill is being such a cow to Alistair maybe they should just call the child Grace and dig a hole at St Stephen’s church yard.

Has the child’s birth been registered yet? Was that delayed due to the farm meeting? I wasn’t paying attention at that bit. Is it normal to have to make an appointment with the registrar? I could imagine it happens in busy cities but really in rural Borsetshire?

Guienne · 19/08/2018 14:38

I think the registration duly went ahead immediately after the farm meeting.

dairyfarmerswife · 19/08/2018 15:00

*Is it normal to have to make an appointment with the registrar?

Yep even in Rural Not-Quite-Borsetshire we had to make an appointment to see the registrar, though with our second we registered him in the hospital on the day of birth, no appointment that time.

The conversation about adding Grace into the name happened while Toby and Pip were in the waiting room at the registrar.

TigerTeatimes · 19/08/2018 15:31

Haha and there was me thinking it was inconceivable they'd their next appointment on the same day. You have to wait weeks in our fair (ahem) capital.

cheminotte · 19/08/2018 16:53

That was a very depressing read Peartree but thanks for posting it.

MikeUniformMike · 19/08/2018 19:29

If Harrison is so good, how come he's still a PC?

Karting1967 · 19/08/2018 19:31

He’s doing his Sergeant’s exams next year.

MikeUniformMike · 19/08/2018 19:34

But isn't he in his mid-30s?

BertrandRussell · 19/08/2018 21:35

The continuity guy had the bit between his teeth tonight!

echt · 19/08/2018 21:50

I think the sergeant's exams is the get out of Ambridge card, as he might be posted elsewhere, like in Hot Fuzz.

How is the bad feeling about him being voiced, e.g to his face? If so, then they need to be reminded of exactly what Harrison said about dereliction of duty...but then Lynda Snell would say he's doing that by not hunting down the abductor of her llama.: o

DeusEx · 19/08/2018 22:50

@MikeUniformMike

Quite agree. She is single handedly driving me away. Even her voice sets my teeth on edge before we even get to the content..

DeusEx · 19/08/2018 22:52

And Rosie Ruth being a heifer - yes!! Spot on!! Or a very short, difficult, but pretty, pony.
