And there’s some rubbish about an ex-stripper policeman?

The income from Kate's cottage is keeping Spiritual Home afloat, isn't it? If she takes it back to live in the business goes bust.

IAmTheWifeOfMaoTseTung · 09/08/2018 20:32

So, and I realise this may take a while to explain, why are Brian and Jenny selling the Home Farm farmhouse anyway?

DadDadDad · 09/08/2018 20:38

MrsMao - the one sentence version: Brian has a massive bill for the toxic waste clean-up so needs to sell some land, but his original proposal would have had a disastrous impact on Spiritual Home, so (oh, the irony) Kate insisted that they consider selling the house instead. Howzat? Grin

TigerTeatimes · 09/08/2018 21:08

Just so satisfying Bolleaux!

I think Kate is actually hilarious - homeless indeed. Gave me a good chuckle. Nicely done Roy.

IAmTheWifeOfMaoTseTung · 09/08/2018 21:35

Thanks DDD.

Roy could easily have been the poster of a MN CF thread and we’d have been cheering on his adamant refusal to be CF’d. I guess he’s had a lot of practice with Kate’s nonsense.

echt · 09/08/2018 21:45

If I had the technical skills I'd like to do a mash-up recording of Freddie's whining and Kate's self-pitying incredulity as Nemesis descends on the pair of them.

TigerTeatimes · 09/08/2018 23:39

What is CF?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 09/08/2018 23:45

CF = Cheeky Fucker

LassWiADelicateAir · 10/08/2018 01:11

Are Jenny and Brian assuming Phoebe will be permanently at her father's house? I thought she still flitted bewteen the 2.

Kate was very funny.

Re what people look like I have huge problems with Roy. I'm assuming that Roy was very , and probably still is, quite good looking. I can't imagine Kate would ever have been interested if he wasn't. Carole Tregorran made a comment to Lizzie about "the Tucker boy" and understanding why Lizzie had had the fling which also implied this. But the way he sounds....oh dear.

TigerTeatimes · 10/08/2018 07:04

Thanks darkandstormy she was definitely being a CF alright.

I've only been listening for 3 years and without knowing his history I'd always assumed he looked pretty much exactly like Mark Benton although know you mention it I can't see Kate & Mark together at all Confused

Bekabeech · 10/08/2018 07:09

Roy must be quite good looking. Evidence: Kate, Elizabeth, Hayley, Lexi, Tracey and numerous on line women all swiped right. But he doesn't sound as exciting, but then the men I've met with the sexiest voices (on the phone) have often been disappointing in person.

CraicMammy · 10/08/2018 07:28

It’s slim pickings in Ambridge when it comes to available men.

Is the Home Farm kerfuffle supposed to be like Brexit, and Kate’s the leave voter who didn’t think through the consequences of departing the EU before voting?

If so, that would make Ruth Nigel Farage, Alice a remoaner, and Ruaridh the NHS.

CraicMammy · 10/08/2018 07:28

No, the NHS is the land.

Saffkat · 10/08/2018 07:45

Also surely Freddie will go to prison now
But won't the poor boy have suffered enough, enduring however many months up to his trial living with Auntie Smug?

C8H10N4O2 · 10/08/2018 08:37

Kate’s the leave voter who didn’t think through the consequences of departing the EU before voting

That was Adam - banging on about new opportunities beforehand and then endless whining and nagging of anyone with breath in their body to pick his fruit afterward. Apparently unable to join dots.

ppeatfruit · 10/08/2018 09:02

I don't get the problem with cream cardigans I LIKE them!

Brilliant scenes with Jenny and Roy spelling out reality to Kate, will she understand them or continue to be deep in that river in Egypt? DUH

BertrandRussell · 10/08/2018 09:05

Am I the only Roy fan?

birdsdestiny · 10/08/2018 09:19

Possibly. I find the way Roy behaves in relationships very odd, hundred miles an hour, can't live without you, makes me very uneasy.

ppeatfruit · 10/08/2018 09:25

I'm not a FAN Bert he's just a bloke, I have no extreme feelings either way about him. Though he was being too diplomatic with Kate, she's so bloody dense!!!

TigerTeatimes · 10/08/2018 09:31

I would say I'm a Roy fan, though I'm also a Mark Benton fan from the little of his work that I've seen.

I think I first me him taking care of Kirsty and the wooing of Lexi did not put me in mind of a Casanova Wink do love hearing the backstories!

chemenger · 10/08/2018 10:03

Poor Kate, so utterly unable to see beyond the end of her own nose that she completely failed to think things through ...again. The scene with Jenny was possibly one of the best Archers scenes ever.

Scoopofchaff · 10/08/2018 11:00

Yes I must confess to be rather enjoying TA again currently!

(Another one here who can't see the attraction of Roy.)

bluerunningshoes · 10/08/2018 11:12

Also surely Freddie will go to prison now there is possibly a deal to be made if he agrees to dob ellis in?

loved the kate scenes 'what about me me me me'

DadDadDad · 10/08/2018 12:09

But is Jenny really facing a house move with such equanimity (from her high status farmhouse with that kitchen that she is so proud of to a presumably "characterless" estate home) or is she playing the part because she wants to skewer Kate with the reality of what she has set in motion?

I find it hard to believe it's the former, but would expect a clue (eg a conversation with Brian) if it's the latter.

C8H10N4O2 · 10/08/2018 12:28

But is Jenny really facing a house move with such equanimity

No but she won't show how she feels to anyone except Debbie. Its what Jennifer always does in a crisis - grit her teeth and get on with doing what she thinks is best for the family.
