I am eagerly anticipating Pip's downfall.

I've just caught up too.

Others had predicted Matt's return, I took his continued presence on the cast list as evidence. By which token there's hope for the return of the other Tuckers (outrageous they were moved on) and also that whatever bee or other conservation/wildlife thing Kirsty gets in into now, there's a chance she'll hook up with Patrick.

Matt isn't as bad as Rob in that he didn't target and manipulate women - he really didn't undermine and control Lillian. He's a shit and sometimes a bastard (though both the old people renting and the sending Paul a heavy seemed out of character to me) but he's not the same sort of psychopath.

With that, Pip exits, pursued by a bull. The CA excels again. :o

Phew, thank goodness Pip has finally owned up. But she's not responsible for the whole mess. David is responsible for the IBR at Brookfield. David and Pip are responsible for the IBR at Bridge and Home Farms. Pip for failing to mend the fence, David for bringing IBR to the area in the first place. In fact it beats me why David isn't more angry with himself.

Just heard this evening's . Pip's acting is going from bad to worse ( i was wiling to give her chance but it was chronic today).

It's nice to hear more from Usha. Yes bringing back the Mike and family would be a good move.

Aww, that was disappointing. I was hoping that David was furious because he found out the truth from Ed. Pip still has a very slight moral high-ground in that she confessed.
Is Alan going to be away when internecine village war breaks out.

redshoeblueshoe · 14/04/2017 19:50

Snap R4 I was disappointed. Especially if he has calmed down by Sunday Grin
I did expect it to come from Ed

Ceto · 14/04/2017 19:55

David said the other day after checking the paperwork that the cattle transaction was definitely down to him.

I'm wondering how come Usha can get time off at such short notice. After all, she and Helen and Rob's respective solicitors are the only ones in Borsetshire.

yikesanotherbooboo · 14/04/2017 19:57

Me too R4

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 14/04/2017 20:12

Thank goodness for that.

JessieMcJessie · 14/04/2017 20:24

Usha's a partner in her practice. She can take time off whenever it suits her, provided her clients are not disadvantaged, and she'll have juniors to delegate to whom she can manage remotely.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/04/2017 20:27

I wonder if Hereford beef makes good humble pie?

I hope Ed doesn't get it in the neck from Tom and/or Adam (does he do work for both of them?) for not warning them about the Brookfield cows escaping.

newtlover · 14/04/2017 20:28

so, we'll get the fallout on sunday evening

selsigfach · 14/04/2017 20:48

Oh that was so unsatisfactory. I got all excited at the beginning with David raging and Pip shitting herself. I thought he'd been on the phone to Ed!

ErrolTheDragon · 14/04/2017 20:51

No, David had to go ballistic with Tom first to make Pip's fall maximally hard. Hahahahahah

mummytime · 14/04/2017 22:18

I'm wondering if Alan is heading for a breakdown/heart attack. I wonder if Aisha knows enough to call the Archdeacon/Bishop/ Alan's spiritual advisor about the way he is blaming himself over Rob.

I'm hoping HC doesn't let Pip be forgiven too easily.

echt · 14/04/2017 22:50

On top of Pip's having concealed CowGate, when will her having loaned the cow money to Toebee, and it concealing being condoned by Ruth come out?

Ceto · 14/04/2017 23:13

Usha's a partner in her practice. She can take time off whenever it suits her, provided her clients are not disadvantaged, and she'll have juniors to delegate to whom she can manage remotely.

But that's the point, it's not necessarily that easy to take off in the middle of a case or a transaction and avoid disadvantaging clients, many of whom don't take to being fobbed off with a junior at short notice. And not every practice has juniors.

IAmNotAUserNumber · 15/04/2017 08:29

Do we know what area of law Usha does? Or her firm? We never hear about the stresses on her (not that I'm particularly interested) but legal aid has gone down the pan; and I'm not sure a small country practice will be in the best position to compete with larger practices where everyone specialises. Perhaps her practice is very niche, e.g. Agricultural, with her partner dabbling in crime (Helen)

user1471452804 · 15/04/2017 08:40

Perhaps Usha is working on the Justin/Miranda divorce - I am sure that will make for lots of fees!

BertrandRussell · 15/04/2017 08:55

And I know we're all supposed to think it's brilliant and yay for women and double yay for older women that Susan's good at cricket but Christ on a bike it's such a tired trope. And the whole thing was a let's all laugh at the feminists getting organized ................grrrrrrrr

Ceto · 15/04/2017 09:21

USA seems to do virtually every area of work except, presumably, crime and family as she passed Helen on to her colleague.

VictoriaMcdade · 15/04/2017 09:22

David and Rooth will find a way to excuse Pip the Super Farmer.

The big question is, will they admit it if it means that Bridge Farm and Home Farm can sue them for compensation?

Or perhaps David will show some element of backbone and demand Pip use the money she mad from her herd as part of the compensation package, and she'll have to 'fess up that she gave it to feckless Toby.

I also am finding the cricket storyline a bit dull, but at least it managed to involve some more characters. We've had Jolene and Chris, as well as Usha and Lily. It's a wonderful departure from the days of SOC and the shrinking cast.
