He was also pretty upset when, having traced his mother, she didn't want to know.

I think he waited and hoped and wished that Lillian would say something about the affair, so he could forgive her and they could move on. But she never said a word and he became bitter and twisted instead.

I don't know why Brine allowed himself to be wound up by Matt. He could so easily have come back with a comment about men who disappear with large chunks of their partner's money, or a question about when he was going to pay back what he stole.

I am hoping tonight's episode was just setting Pipsqueak up for a massive, humongous fall into the Mariana trench , fall from grace .

Absolutely loved the golf scene last night. Fascinating to hear those three dinosaurs battling it out with their really different and incredibly well written characters. The sum of years of experience playing out for each of them.

I'm hoping Pip won't confess but Ed will spill the beans. Perhaps David will say something to Ed that makes Ed think Pip has already told him, so will say something in reply that tells David the truth.

I must have been listening to a different episode then. Matt sounds like a character out of a bad Guy Ritchie film.

I agree with Bertrand and IAmNotAUserNumber- Lilian's 'employment " as "social secretary" was sleazy.

No-one, just no-one, would either say things like that or tolerate someone saying things like that to them. Makes me appreciate Susan's subtlety.

Matt is nothing like as bad as Rob. Rob was a rapist who tried to cut Helen off from her family and friends, and estrange her from her own son.
