Thank you R4 for the title.

What happened? I didn't hear the first part. Her voice seems deeper than ever

TheAntiBoop · 13/03/2017 19:15

I guess granny Jill is going to get tapped for £5k

VictoriaMcdade · 13/03/2017 19:16

Pip is such a spoilt brat!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 13/03/2017 19:24

My listening has been rather erratic of late.

No bouquets to award, but brickbats for Jenny (hypocrite) and Pip (petulant entitled brat). Mini brickbat for Ruth for being an indulgent enabler refusing to see what an arse her daughter is.

No good ever came from spoiling a child.

PrincessFiorimonde · 13/03/2017 19:25

D3 Grin

Mini I agree! Grin

Shallishanti · 13/03/2017 19:29

what about Peggy? she has loads of cash doesn't she?
I don't get why David didn't just say- well you don't need the money do you, because you sold the other lot

R4 · 13/03/2017 21:13

Pip lied about where the money went (loan to Toby).
She lied, by omission, about the cows getting out the other morning.
Lying to the parents is turning into a habit.

I'm so glad that Emma is seeing the Grundy ostrich attitude for what it is. I hope she comes up with a sensible, long-term plan for their finances.

Anyone think that the expensive super-ram that Ed bought is a dud?

TheSilveryPussycat · 13/03/2017 22:52

FFS you lot. I'm wading my way slowly through 2 previous threads (or is it 2 ? - it may be more). And I'm only very mildly concerned with what has happened in Ambridge in the past month...

Talk about being overinfested

Imbroglio · 13/03/2017 23:00

Poor Ed. I'd forgotten about the ram.

StiginaGrump · 13/03/2017 23:37

Actually I wish Ed did get some major luck, not going to happen though is it. Him and Em a perpetual warning of the folly of farming without landed gentry origins and with a working class turn of phrase.

StiginaGrump · 13/03/2017 23:38

Can anyone else remember cool fit Ed in the White t-shirt, ahem just me then.

LillianGish · 14/03/2017 08:50

Pussycat Pussy at where have you been? (Sorry couldn't resist that - I love your nickname).
Enjoyed last night's episode as lots of agriculture and farming sounds, but no cricket.

Megatherium · 14/03/2017 09:10

How could Pip be so utterly stupid as to assume she'd get a loan without David asking what happened to the profits from last year? Surely if she had any sense she'd have gone to a bank?

Megatherium · 14/03/2017 09:14

Is there really this much heavy duty demand on B&Bs in the country in March? We never really heard about Ambridge Hall being constantly busy before.

ppeatfruit · 14/03/2017 09:44

I rather like the BNB wars (if Clarrie wasn't being exploited). It could be a good way of getting more income for the Grundies, if they handled it better. Lynda is usually compassionate except where they are concerned.

I'm also liking the more detailed view we're getting of the stables and vets.

GrumpyOldBag · 14/03/2017 10:08

Yes, the B&B demand is weird.

It sounds as if they are very much catering to the tourist market, but B&B's have much more widespread use than that.

When I stay in a B&B it's normally because I have to be nearby for work or attending an event, e.g. a wedding.

If I wanted a weekend away with DH in a B&B we choose somewhere where there's a really good local pub or restaurant too. Not at this time of year. And certainly wouldn't want a birdwatching tour.

Megatherium · 14/03/2017 14:08

Yes, I must say if I was staying in a B&B and had to contend with someone doing a hard sell of a birdwatching tour, I'd make a mental note never to return. I'd probably say so on TripAdvisor as well.

Mootsie · 14/03/2017 14:17

How much money did Pip give/lend Toby? Was it just the profit she made on the cattle or the whole lot including David's start up contribution and her management fee?

Surely David's money wasn't hers to lend in the first place and the management fee can't have been all that much as it was only a small herd.

I wonder if Ben will turn out to be as grasping and devious as his older siblings?

redshoeblueshoe · 14/03/2017 14:26

In my head it was 5 thousand, but on reflection I've no idea if I made that up Grin

IAmNotAUserNumber · 14/03/2017 14:30

Mootsie, I think she spent all of David's contribution and what came out the other end as profit is what she gave to Toby. I have the figure of £5000 in my head but I could be imagining that. She told Ruth that she kept the mgmt fee but used it as "income". Does she pay rent on the cottage?

Minimammoth · 14/03/2017 14:37

Pip is exasperating , so entitled, and obvs. is keepingbherself and Toby, even if the cottage is rent free she will have bills. I sense Heathe'rs legacy being unlocked from the safe.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/03/2017 14:42

Ruth colluding in deceiving David is bad. At least she hasn't immediately gifted some of HP's legacy to Pip.

LillianGish · 14/03/2017 14:51

I thought it was rather like Toby having his allowance cut off! Pip just blithely assumed Daddy would sub her some more cash after she gave the previous lot away to Toby - they already get free accommodation courtesy of Brookfield. She'd also obviously spent the management fee maintaining their lifestyle. Will she finally start to question what she's doing with such a freeloader? Almost certainly not - she'll just strop off in an almighty huff with David.
