Thank you R4 for the title.

I agree about Lil - definite reluctance it reminded me of this .
I thought the same about Linda - but do they still make Reveals? I haven't seen them for years.
The only thing about Usha is the racial stereotyping (if she is any good).

IAmNotAUserNumber · 13/03/2017 09:18

I got the same impression JeNeSuis and Mummy

ppeatfruit · 13/03/2017 09:19

Yes Lil obviously prefers the chase to the catch doesn't she? Like an effing 16 yr old, she should act her considerable age.

TheAntiBoop · 13/03/2017 09:24

I should imagine the blood stains from many a mistresses face when her beloved turns up on her doorstep with a suitcase

IAmNotAUserNumber · 13/03/2017 09:30

Drains, not stains?Shock

TheAntiBoop · 13/03/2017 09:31

Drains not stains!!

LillianGish · 13/03/2017 09:34

Lillian definitely not keen on moving back to the Dower House and shacking up with Justin. Who can blame her? Justin hasn't exactly covered himself in glory recently and Miranda's description of his string of affairs, confirmed by Justin himself hardly makes him an appealing prospect. I think the shine has worn off (could never see what the shine was in the first place). As for the suggestion he would continue to pay rent ...

IAmNotAUserNumber · 13/03/2017 09:34

I think the SL would have been a lot more interesting if Miranda had been made a likeable character. Presenting her as unlikeable is lazy, and I don't think it's the case in RL that only unlikeable wives get cheated on. Wasn't it similar with Rob and Jess, that Jess was shown as being unhinged? I appreciate that will be the perspective of the husband and the OW of course, but doesn't mean it's true.
I blame SOC

TheAntiBoop · 13/03/2017 09:41

I don't think they needed to introduce Miranda at all.

And I don't think I would be pleased that he had made the choice after being given an ultimatum. He would have been quite happy to string her along of that hadn't happened

JeNeSuisPasVotreMiel · 13/03/2017 10:25

There was a scene a few weeks ago when Justin was ordering Lil about in a very grumpy fashion.
I thought at the time; "Oh, he's treating her like a wife"....

redshoeblueshoe · 13/03/2017 10:30

Jenny Shock she was disgraceful.

ppeatfruit · 13/03/2017 10:49

But it seems that Lil would've been happy to continue 'being strung long' . I think she preferred it. The way she referred to Home Farm as her 'home'.

Jenny should chuck her out immediately. She would drive me up the wall with her fags n booze. Sister or not.

redshoeblueshoe · 13/03/2017 10:53

But Jenny was delighted that Lillian had won

ppeatfruit · 13/03/2017 11:02

Yes so she could get rid of her probably. Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 13/03/2017 12:54

Lillian was decidedly taken aback, and didn't seem at all keen to me. I don't think Justin had ever given the slightest hint that he might leave Miranda, it simply doesn't seem to have crossed his mind that Lillian wouldn't be delighted.

Megatherium · 13/03/2017 13:43

I think when Justin was being grumpy before, it was when Miranda had turned up and plainly had suspicions, so they were trying to convince her that Lill really was no more than an underling.

TheAntiBoop · 13/03/2017 14:09

Jenny's need for the details was a bit grim. Has she forgotten who her husband is?

PrincessFiorimonde · 13/03/2017 15:11

At the risk of outing DadDadDad - did anyone else notice the letter on the beauty of spreadsheets that appeared in Saturday's 'Guardian'?

www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/mar/10/giving-with-one-hand-taking-with-the-other (third one down)

DadDadDad · 13/03/2017 16:26

Good spot, Princess! (don't worry, that letter wasn't from me - it insults actuaries for a start...).

Spreadsheets are the first refuge of the actuary, but I do agree they can be a thing of joy. I suspect the average accountant makes very bland use of Excel; we actuaries are the ones with exciting projections, non-linear functions, offset and indirect to do scenarios and coordinate several workbook calculations in one result, IF statements that boggle the brain, goal-seeking and VBA macros...

I suspect accountants think pivot tables are the height of sophistication. What people don't realise is that this kind of work is highly creative, working out how to implement a complex model across several worksheets.

Minimammoth · 13/03/2017 17:21

We are lesser mortals Dad3Grin
I now feel sorry for Lill. oh how the SWs toy with our emotions, she is trapped. And Jenny, really! Of course we women's have to be eternally grateful that such a man as Justin might choose us. Oh Purlease! Take a stand Lill.

ppeatfruit · 13/03/2017 18:08

Ermm Minamouth I didn't notice Lil taking a stand before when she was crying over Justin each time he wasn't around. She ain't the type.

IAmNotAUserNumber · 13/03/2017 18:33

D3 - tell us more, it sounds fascinating

Who'd have thought it? Pip storms off when told 'no' for the first time ever.
