Sorry for the poor title - the end of the last thread has arrived sooner than I thought and I haven't had the benefit of hearing all of the last 2 nights....

It's a good title :)

Thanks Pseudo

EBearhug · 04/10/2016 10:05

Thanks pseudo.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 04/10/2016 10:09

Thanks Pseudo!

trevortrevorslatterfry · 04/10/2016 10:12

Thanks for the new thread!

Jill definitely WNBU and I hope this doesn't turn into a storyline about old people only being non-compliant if dementia is setting in. I'd love to see Jill stopping being a martyr!
Tbf carol is pretty assertive and so is piggoi and it was out of character for Jill.
Wtf were her family were thinking blaming the situation on her though! Pip is a knob

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/10/2016 10:18

Thanks Pseudo

Greyandyellow · 04/10/2016 10:26

I have a theory about Jill's outburst.

When SOC started as editor, the storyline gave a bit more attention to the more mature of Ambridges' residents - Jill, Peggy and bringing in Carol, giving a bit more time to Jim and Christine, and concentrated less on "da yoof" such as the Will-Emma-Ed stuff and Amex.

Now SOC has gone, maybe the elder residents will get less storylines and have their characters altered for the worse.

Gumpendorf · 04/10/2016 10:35

Thanks pseudo. Title is spot on.

Didn't SOC want to develop storylines for the new generation of Ambridge and bring in younger, radio listeners. Which is why we have the Fairbrethen, with Dorothy and Freddie and possibly the Sacha Locke story bubbling under.

ppeatfruit · 04/10/2016 10:37

OMG The Archers can never do right WHATEVER they do Grin

Thanks for the new thread psuedo

My dsis gets very grumpy (tantrummy) for no reason, as does my dm . It's the acid in the joints and brain IMO

Gumpendorf · 04/10/2016 10:39

Anyone else struggling with the Mumsnet app? It's a lovely app that makes phone posting much easier but it also encourages multiple posting. Hmm

RockNRollNerd · 04/10/2016 10:39

I like the title - I also like the way we're still keeping a good pace going on these threads even without the constant HelRob stories.

Butteredparsn1ps · 04/10/2016 10:41

Thank you Pseudo.

Whether it is or not. I don't want this to be a storyline heralding dementia. It would be nice to think that even Jill can give her Granddaughter the arse ripping she deserves, without it being put down to senility.

bilbodog · 04/10/2016 10:46

Thanks pseudo. Jills outburst made me think about possible medical problems too.

BitOutOfPractice · 04/10/2016 10:55

Hello! Very behind with listening but just popping my marker in the sand on the new thread

enochroot · 04/10/2016 11:21

Good title.

I prefer to think that Jill's outburst was all the more vehement because of the chutney debacle which she found deeply mortifying. It would stick in her craw to have Toby waltz in breezily to her party when she blames him for being flaky enough to cause her so much embarrassment.

SingingAvocado · 04/10/2016 11:37

Place marking. Thank you Pseudo.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/10/2016 11:38

Grumpendorf - yes, if you've got a dodgy connection and it fails to post it seems to have buffered it somehow (like a printer queue) so the message to retry is misleading and leads to multiple posts. Generally hitting the X to leave the new post screen and pull down to refresh works, though I guess if it's a long post then copying it and pasting into a note might be prudent.

Gumpendorf · 04/10/2016 11:42

Ah! Thanks, Errol. I get the message every time and I close the app as it seems to freeze. Glad it's not just me, though.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/10/2016 12:18

This is odd...I posted re grumpendorf's comment about the app from my ipod...with a dodgy connection so I had to follow my own advice. My post duly showed up. Now I'm on my pc using browser - when I go to threads I'm on it lists that post and one from grumpendorf in response but when I open the thread I can't see either of them. Confused

CeciledeVolanges · 04/10/2016 12:20

Thanks Pseudo :) I approve of the title. Beginning slow handclap myself here and now.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/10/2016 12:20

oh - and now the posts are showing. Some sort of delay syncing the mobile and browser content maybe.

CeciledeVolanges · 04/10/2016 12:21

Thanks Pseudo :) I approve of the title. Beginning slow handclap myself here and now.
Also Gumpen yes, I think I've made my struggles embarrassingly obvious all over several threads today

drspouse · 04/10/2016 12:40

I was curious if Jill would have made such a fuss if it had been Rex.

I initially wanted Pip to get together with Rex but she's being so dense over Toby (does she really think he wants to play happy families? he doesn't care in the slightest if he sees his own family it seems) I no longer care.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/10/2016 12:42

Good title! Thanks, Pseudo. Had I but known, I could have blamed the app for my embarrassing mishap last week, but I'm on a laptop. I just have an internet connection that seems to drop out a lot and my laptop has a hissy fit every time it happens.

Anyway, back to TA. There's some good stuff at present on the spoilers thread, but just a reminder that Olivia will have our guts for garters if we dare mention any of that filth on this thread. Grin

ppeatfruit · 04/10/2016 12:59

Oh and another thing ('m getting grumpy too, oh dear Blush ) Toby and PIP placed the jams in the wrong place at the Flower and Produce show.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 04/10/2016 13:06

Talking of the F&P, didn't Joe Grundy eat Carol's entry for the gingerbread class last week? No fallout from that?
