Sorry for the poor title - the end of the last thread has arrived sooner than I thought and I haven't had the benefit of hearing all of the last 2 nights....

Fiderer - google will explain... I didn't get very far into the website before being diverted by learning that Lord Nuffield was actually William Morris (as in cars not Arts&Crafts) .

Fink · 05/10/2016 10:02

Looks like the Plarchers people can't tell Kenton and David apart either, only David is with Jazzer, Rob, and Emma outside the Bull. I can usually tell them apart but I only thought one of them was in that scene (Kenton) until the thread told me otherwise, I probably wasn't listening very carefully.

enochroot · 05/10/2016 10:18

Perhaps Kenton didn't go outside and stayed inside to keep an eye on his till!

Ursula's tone to Pat was much more aggressive and outrageous than it was to Helen. She seemed to recognise that Helen has the upper hand now, at least as far as access to Jack is concerned. She still thinks she can bully Pat though.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/10/2016 10:44

Fiderer have you discovered The Ambridge Observer yet?

You can curse me again Grin

CeciledeVolanges · 05/10/2016 11:26

I find it hard to ascribe an age or provenance to Pip because everything - accent, tone, pitch - just sounds affected. As in put on, not like the Margaret Thatcher kind.

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2016 13:19

Hello Fiderer Grin Dahling we mustn't meet like this Grin. I take it you don't listen religiously to TA !

Swannykazoo · 05/10/2016 14:10

Pat needs a huge dose of MN "That doesn't work for us. "

Swannykazoo · 05/10/2016 14:13

Oh actually hurray for Helen. Though Pat's wet blanket wittering about how AMAZING Helen is after it is ripping my knitting as they say in these parts.

StVincent · 05/10/2016 14:59

Surely Matthew would have been expected to come to the party because he was living and working at the farm? Not because he was gracing Pip with his favours.

Agree with Francis about this: "That was rude, and treating Jill like a small child who isn't capable of issuing her own invitations. I think that as people get older they can become sensitive to being treated like their views and opinions carry less weight or like they need to be handled and looked after. This must be particularly hard for Jill on the day that she becomes another year older, living in the house where she was once the matriarch, but where she is steadily becoming of less significance."

I do wonder how many of these people saying Jill should get over herself would react kindly to their own child bringing someone they know you hate to your birthday tea. Is it just because she's gran, not mum, that she should suck it up?

I never got Charlie mixed up with anyone, his voice was well sexy Blush

Can anyone help me out by explaining what Oliver and Caroline decided to do about Grange Farm? Somehow I managed to totally miss that despite listening every day (or so I thought). One minute it was Whoah Is Joe, and the next minute they're "still celebrating".

StVincent · 05/10/2016 15:04

OMG this is Charlie.

I actually think Adam and Charlie were brought together by their sexy voices.

StVincent · 05/10/2016 15:08

BTW - can't believe I forgot to say this. Did anyone else notice how Helen came over all Labyrinth last night?

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2016 16:07

St Vincent Oliver and Caroline, have discovered that by some "financial flexibility" (or something) they can afford to buy the place in Tuscany and rent Grange Farm to the Grundy family.

Fiderer · 05/10/2016 16:43

Bord Shall curse you later. For now I am resolute to first finish some work - after a brief geek at MN

pleat I was for years. My children all recognised the theme tune as babies :)

Stopped listening after Nigel. Listened again till Rob got nasty.

Re Nuffield I wondered what Tom is doing or planning.

Fiderer · 05/10/2016 16:44

Bore

Fiderer · 05/10/2016 16:47

ppeat First and last time I post from my Kindle.
Plus it takes me ages

LowDudgeon · 05/10/2016 17:29

Frances Bryan, StVincent?

Francis, surely? (That mistake is generally made the other way round Grin)

StVincent · 05/10/2016 17:46

Worse, it was actually Emily who posted that. Sorry Emily! And sorry Franc[insert relevant vowel]s

Given the number of characters over 80 (Peggy, Jill, Carol, Chris, Bert, Jim and Joe) I'm slightly surprised there isn't at least one character showing signs of slight dementia.

We had Jeck Wolloi who went from being sharp as a tack to full on Alzheimer's in an unrealistically short period of time. The scriptwriters have probably thought 'dementia: done that one already.'

LowDudgeon · 05/10/2016 18:45

Emily? Confused

Gherkinsmummy · 05/10/2016 19:10

My problem with Jill's behaviour was that it did seem like a tantrum. Toby is annoying but Jill loathes him for reasons that are not his fault. As Pip's bf and a brokefailed tenant, it's not unreasonable that he might come to her party.

TheAntiBoop · 05/10/2016 19:13

The Johnny Tom scenes were a bit weirdy somehow!

They moved in quick didn't they!

TheAntiBoop · 05/10/2016 19:14

What was that music Adam was listening to?

Gherkinsmummy · 05/10/2016 19:14

Do you think Charlie kept the eye patch? I'm imagining him saying all his lines in a pirate voice 😀

LowDudgeon · 05/10/2016 19:17

Just listening to Adam talking to Alice about not learning from mistakes

I called him a rather rude name & DS2 (23) said "but he has such a lovely voice - he sounds like god" Shock

(DS2 is not even slightly religious Grin)

I agree about Adam's voice being lovely though.
