Sorry for the poor title - the end of the last thread has arrived sooner than I thought and I haven't had the benefit of hearing all of the last 2 nights....

ppeat I may be remembering it wrongly, but as far as I can remember Jill asked Pip what was going on, while they were still officially FWB but after Jill saw Toby sneaking out of the cottage late at night, but Pip lied to her and said they were just friends and nothing was happening.

I think toby wouldn't give a monkey's if Pip has been blamed for the chutney, he was quite happy to put all the blame on pip for doing all the chasing when he was justifying himself to rex.

He sort of has, by lying to Rex about the circumstances in which they got together. Rex could well react quite badly to that and it could have put an end to their friendship.

The debacle with the chutney was an honest mistake, and one made as a result of Pip and Toby helping Jill. Indeed I'm not convinced that it was actually Toby's fault. Both Pip and Toby owned up to it (which was rather sweet).

Yes and no. It wasn't deliberate, but it was a product of Toby being a careless twat who can't be bothered to think things through, and who didn't care how much trouble he could cause if he got it wrong. He was probably inwardly sneering at the local yokels and thought that the task was so far beneath him that he needn't expend any thought on it. It was pretty obvious that when Pip owned up to it she was doing so in order to save Toby, and Toby was the only person responsible for the mistake.

If the flower and produce was so important to Jill then she should have checked that the jars had been set out properly.

The issue for Jill was that the mistake directly put her into an extremely embarrassing situation. She had no reason to expect that to happen, so no reason to try to anticipate it and guard against it.

If Helen owns a share of Bridge Farm she may be the only one with assets. Would Rob get a share of that in the divorce?

Hope she doesn't die in a freak car accident/ tornado/ alien abduction before the divorce or he could get her share.

Crikey, TakingTheFifth, that's a thought. I know nothing about divorce law. Does it make any difference when divvying up the assets that they were only married a year?

I think it does make a difference that it was a "short marriage", and English law certainly takes into account any children of the marriage's needs. So the person who does the bulk of the care for the children usually gets over 50% of the assets.

I think that Jill had every right to be annoyed at Pip's rudeness. She really is the most self obsessed young woman and her parent's ought to have put her straight. The Dopeys surely reap what they sow.

I agree Emily about Carol's treatment of Jill over the F&P mix up. It was cruel and unnecessary and showed Carol's rather nasty side.

According to the first Solicitors I googled, for "short marriage" that is less than 5 years, normally assets before the marriage are retained by the original owner. However this becomes trickier when there are children.

Hope you are correct, mummytime. Would hate to think that Helen and the BF crew got gouged by Knob for any share of assets.

Pip's an arsehole and deserved a dressing down from Jill (it wasn't any worse than that). D&R's reaction was totally OTT - surely they have noticed by now that their daughter (and quite probably their son - well, one of them anyway) is a shithouse. They should have taken Jill's side - Pip was out of order and should have been told as much, not pandered to (again).

Not at all sure Rob would have much by way of 'occupational pension' after his years of working overseas - he might or might not have savings from then. And if he did, wouldnt Jess have had dibs on them? Doubt his job at Berrow would have had a particularly generous scheme and he wasnt there for long. Whereas the bridge farm lot have probably been doing something sensible over a longer period.

Good on Helen! had an awful moment when I thought she'd dance around Knob (sorry for mental image there) again.

Isn't it weird though that an extra room can be built on BHC but not on Bridge Farm? And the latter is probably more spacious already.

Oh dear, I don't suppose this is going to do much for Rob's blood pressure. Would love to hear the conversation between him and Ursula when she broke the news to him.

At least if Tom moves back to the cottage, Rob can't ask Will for a tenancy (although he would be loath to have a Grundy as a landlord anyway).

I hope they consider more than just a rape charge against Rob. Having highlighted the new law it would be a shame to abandon that storyline now. And surely there's more evidence that might secure a conviction? Another great episode I thought.

If I were the social worker for Jack I would be recommending that contact were taken back to
Court based on the fact that rob refuses to use his correct name. It's emotionally abusive.
