So Pip would leave Brookfield to go and sit in a remote cottage whilst Matthew spent his days a-milking?

BertrandRussell · 24/05/2016 23:06

"So Pip would leave Brookfield to go and sit in a remote cottage whilst Matthew spent his days a-milking?"

Yes of course she would. Because TASWAMA.

NotdeadyetBOING · 25/05/2016 05:59

Sorry - that was officially the worst episode ever

DaisyArcher · 25/05/2016 07:21

Do you think Matthew is trying to wheedle his way into Brookfield? It doesn't seem he's got much of a career; moving all over the country just to milk cows. Maybe he wants a share of what Pip has

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/05/2016 07:42

I wasn't actually listening to what Matthew and Pip were saying because it was so dull and unengaging. I am just clinging to the idea that Pip will leave because it would be a little chink of light in the darkness.

The other thing keeping me going is the hope that Rob in his overweening arrogance will delay going to the Registrar and Helen will get the birth registered first, because the Registrar will come to her in the hospital or the MBU. I don't care what he's called as long as it's not Gideon and ideally he will get the surname Archer. That might make Rob self-combust, so good result all round.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 25/05/2016 07:43

So what was the actual.upshot of the Pip Matthew thing?.I half heard some "oh I love you but...."

birdsdestiny · 25/05/2016 07:47

It was left as a cliffhanger smallLegs, when I say cliffhanger I mean TA's idea of a cliffhanger.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 25/05/2016 08:03

Oh another will someone/everyone leave BF cliffhanger.
So far we have had Jill, all of them, Ruth, Pip and Pip again.

Has Kirsty not told anyone about Helen seeing Jess? Shock
This storyline is such bullshit

lljkk · 25/05/2016 08:29

Although Kirsty strongly suspects abuse, Hell has never confirmed anything worse than a single slap. Hell stood up for Rob at every turn insisting that he was wonderful. Hell was ANGRY at Kirsty for implying the relationship was less than perfect. All Kirsty knows is that Hell planned to leave him, but Hell was going to do Rob the curtesy of talking things thru first (like you would in a respectful relationship).

Maybe Jess encouraged Hell to get revenge. Maybe Hell told Jess that Hell felt furious towards him and so Jess can confirm Hell was feeling murderous. Kirsty doesn't know those things aren't true. There are cans of worms in every bit of info they might have. Look at Pat, who was sure she could be open & honest & give all info and that never hurt Helen.

LillianGish · 25/05/2016 08:43

I thought Hel told Kirsty she'd seen Jess and that she was leaving as a result of what Jess had told her. Kirsty suggested she leave there and then, but Hel said no thank you very much I'll cook him a tuna bake and make some custard first. Please can someone with encyclopaedic knowledge confirm (or correct).

BYOSnowman · 25/05/2016 08:45

I think you are being very generous lijkk!

Kirsty did know that Helen had met Jess and that she might have called the helpline. She suspected ea. why would she have not mentioned that at least?

There's so much that people know that they could tell Anna which would give her a lead. Eg he has an ex wife

I find it really depressing that soc now sees himself as a champion of dv victims. No doubt he will be called on as an expert on the subject by the media

lljkk · 25/05/2016 09:17

Kirsty SUSPECTS Hell called that line, Kirsty doesn't even know for sure? Talk about hearsay. And it matters not a jot unless Helen starts recognising she was emotionally abused and tells everyone as much. Helen is the one who has to drive this. Nobody else can do it for her (isn't that what we were saying 1 yr+ ago?). Almost the last thing I wanted was H. to be "rescued" by someone else.

Would women in MBU be offered counselling? Else talking to other abused women might be the only way for Helen to finally realise she was a victim of crime, too.

How many people know that emotional abuse can be a crime? Morally wrong, sure, but a legal defence for murder/assault? I wouldn't have known that without the TA SL. Where does a relationship cross the line from being irritating & selfish (Helen) to being mentally abusive? I don't know the fine distinction, do most people? It sounds very fuzzy.

Kirsty knows nothing.

Thymeout · 25/05/2016 09:28

We know more than anyone else about the cc. But there's no independent evidence of it. Giving up driving ,(supported by Pat), reducing her hours, the phone-tracking - Rob can explain everything by citing her psychological state. There is evidence for that - the emergency appointment with the psychiatrist and the prescription for a-d's. She wasn't locked up. She still had access to money.

I really doubt that she'd win a case for cc, let alone be let off a custodial sentence for attempted murder on those grounds.

LyndaNotLinda · 25/05/2016 09:28

According to mustard land, Kirsty does know that Helen met Jess. Perhaps it's slipped her mind?

LyndaNotLinda · 25/05/2016 09:29

And actually I think Helen told her she'd called the DV line

LyndaNotLinda · 25/05/2016 09:29

LyndaNotLinda · 25/05/2016 09:31

I'm not that certain!

redshoeblueshoe · 25/05/2016 09:38

Lynda why don't you tell us what you really think Grin

PseudoBadger · 25/05/2016 09:53

Titles please? Thanks to Lynda we'll need one soon!

Vango · 25/05/2016 10:14

Pseudo I was thinking about you earlier and couldn't think of any current storyline that you could embrace so I'm going to suggest "Like The Archers cricketers, we're stumped". Archers

AskingForAPal · 25/05/2016 10:43

"Will Helen's defence go down the elfin toilet? Listen to the Archers if you can bear to find out."

AskingForAPal · 25/05/2016 10:44

Or even: "Will Pat carry on wailing? Do elves poo in the woods?"

PseudoBadger · 25/05/2016 10:45

Judging by the thread i think a HelRobPat-free title would be best....
