"Get outta my village" screams Peggy Mitchell

OP posts:
SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 19/05/2016 21:29

Oh but that is her secret lesnian affair with Kirsty phone. What's to check? Hmm

I thought Peggy was brilliant. But yy wtf was Tony on about and he's the one that has nearly died twice in the last few years. Surely what you say is "I don't know what I'd do without you"

FabFiveFreddie · 19/05/2016 21:51

Namechageroo here, regular delurker (may as well just come out at this rate).

Wasn't Kirsty jilted at the altar by Tom a mere nanosecond ago? Wtf is she sitting having "perfect" cups of tea with him for?? Plenty or other people she could speak to about the phone.

Also, wtf with Tony asking his mum how he will cope when she's dead!!! Jeez, makes me wonder whether I'll ever be shot of my kids if it's still possible to behave this way in your 60s.

Finally, I think Pat and Tony should be incarcerated for being so utterly fecking useless. I say this is every single post, in the vain hope that someone who matters can just kill them off. They're driving me round the bend. How do they make it through a single day with all their pointless whining and hand-wringing and general uselessness?

AugustaFinkNottle · 19/05/2016 22:09

my own mother used to come and babysit for me and do my housework and helped my brother move house at the age of 93. Thinking about it, that's a bit unusual, isn't it?

Just a bit. My mother's 90, and she mostly sits around all day complaining Sad.

YY to PatnTone's uselessness. When Tony started moaning today about how the rules should be changed just for his family I wanted to slap him about the head.

enochroot · 19/05/2016 22:14

Ah, yes. I had forgotten that Rob's invented a lesbian affair and the police have accepted this and ceased to investigate.

SOC must have annoyed several professional bodies lately with his handling of this story.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/05/2016 23:05

Did anyone else wince at the Public Service Broadcast way "coercive control" was finally shoe horned into the plot?

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/05/2016 23:07

Oh and were Tone and Peggy staying at the Crossroads Motel? I can't think of anywhere else that would have that back ground music.

Minimammoth · 20/05/2016 07:44

I reckon tonight's the night for birth.
Oh how I look forward to those days when I'll be sitting in my chair complaining. ( not long now)

spiker · 20/05/2016 07:51

Have finally caught up with you lot - with the thread that is, have stopped deliberately listening, catching maybe one TA a week as RL has gone silly recently. I can only echo the frustration and bewilderment expressed on here as to how TA is being written now - it is bizarre. I have decided that being forced to go cold turkey on TA was an an actual Good Thing coming out of silly amount of RL work at present. I'm feeling pleasantly detached from it all. Still, glad you lot are telling me what's going on Grin

Gumpendorf · 20/05/2016 07:56

Peggy's 'I plan to outlive the lot of you' coupled with Lillian and JD 's chat and Brian's exotic holiday does imply JD is errr 'vulnerable'. Shock

Will Tom give the same attention to the WA helpline as he did to calling the chicken suppliers?

ameliesfolly · 20/05/2016 09:35

Delurking again - I loved the Brian & Adam chat. As if Brine would have to ask advice on whether Jenny Darling would like a relaxing exotic expensive holiday?! I thought he was going to suggest a renewal of vows which would have been more surprising and very notBrian. Also enjoyed the idea that Alistair would send a text before 6am about the cricket. What with the clunky references to David for whom there was no budget this episode, it's getting more Acorn Antiques by the day...

Gruach · 20/05/2016 09:40

Must say I struggled to see the point of "David going with them" when he didn't appear and there was no indication that the trip changed anything for him. It wasn't necessary for Brian and Adam to have been waiting for him for any of their conversations to happen.

What will I do when you're not around? Shock

LillianGish · 20/05/2016 10:02

It's getting more Acorn Antiques by the day Grin I didn't think Brian was asking if Jenny would like an exotic holiday, but more whether she would like to be whisked away with no notice (not something I would appreciate - personally I think looking forward to it is half the pleasure - or am I just an old curmudgeon?)

Marchate · 20/05/2016 11:49

LassWi Maybe Nigel (#1) still works at Crossroads Motel!

ppeatfruit · 20/05/2016 11:49

Well that one was better than most recently, and we found out where Eddy and Joe were selling gnomes yesterday, that was very unclear. I thought how obvious it was that whoever is directing now thinks we're watching telly or something.

BYOSnowman · 20/05/2016 12:49

Was it really a good idea to nominate Helen? The press will have a field day!!

LyndaNotLinda · 20/05/2016 14:13

JD is the sort of woman who likes to plan her wardrobe. She needs notice

BYOSnowman · 20/05/2016 14:27

Definitely - and she would be booked into the salon a couple of days before

shinynewusername · 20/05/2016 16:35

I'm really going to miss you when you die, Mum. Who's going to look after me now my wife has been replaced by a moanbot?

Bet Peggy regrets relenting on the will now Grin

Thymeout · 20/05/2016 18:16

Except the idea of Rob inheriting half of her house, as on the original will, would be a bit of a downer. When H has a spare moment, she needs to get cracking on a divorce.

DaisyArcher · 20/05/2016 18:32

I'm starting to miss Rob and Ursula. Think we need an update from Blossom Hill Cottage.

BertrandRussell · 20/05/2016 18:44

We're not going to have a full on live birth with sound effects, are we? Oh, please God, no!

KingscoteStaff · 20/05/2016 18:50

But they've got all those calving sound effects - seems a pity to waste them...

AugustaFinkNottle · 20/05/2016 18:56

I fear they're saving up Knob and Arsula for the big dramatic scene where they turn up at the hospital and demand to see "MY son" and "MY grandson" and make a hell of a fuss that Tony and Peggy have seen him/her first.

But I'm not looking forward to the wailing from Pat because she couldn't hold her grandchild. Though I suppose there's nothing to stop her visiting him/her so long as she doesn't see Helen.

AugustaFinkNottle · 20/05/2016 19:07

Why the hell is Helen asking her expensive QC whether she might have a Caesarian? Why on earth would she know?

shinynewusername · 20/05/2016 19:13

Argh the Pip & Matthew saga is yet another completely unconvincing storyline. We all know it's going nowhere, just like the road, the move north, Ruth's mum etc etc.

I get SOC is all about drama over credibility but this is just shooting themselves in the foot. There is no drama if none of the listeners believe that any of these scenarios is actually going to happen.

PS As I typed this, Pip gets dumped. You could have knocked me over with a combine harvester.
