"Get outta my village" screams Peggy Mitchell

Gumpen you would certainly hope so, but I don't have enough confidence in Anna/the SWs to believe it until I hear it!

Is there a reason she wouldn't ask anything further of Helen herself, if that's what she's thinking?

TheSilveryPussycat · 16/05/2016 14:07

Archers and bull shit in one emoticon Archers

I am no longer listening (did try 5 min yesterday but arrgh) but seem to be overinfested nevertheless. I still cannot quite believe this has happened to My Programme Sad

BYOSnowman · 16/05/2016 14:27

So is the jolene and Wayne 'girlfriend' sl going to be 'humorous'? Yawn

NotdeadyetBOING · 16/05/2016 14:33

Helen is giving Anna so little, I wouldn't be surprised if she is wondering whether Rob isn't really a perfectly nice man who has been wronged and whose only crime was being keen to become a father.

Henry loves him, he is a great father etc.

CheesyWeez · 16/05/2016 14:36

Augusta I was hoping Tom's meeting was going to start proper support for Helen / or that he would point out that they can fire Rob, what with the shop being shut and there being no work for him to do, and him having no contract, or a contract too recent to have any rights. I'm bored with the pigs. But maybe Johnny is going to come up with a bright idea.

ppeatfruit · 16/05/2016 14:52

I'm sticking with it though I DO feel a bit like you lot. But once tweedy twatfacesoc has gone it'll improve won't it?? The swallows are arriving gradually; Peggy?

AskingForAPal · 16/05/2016 15:22

I'm still listening and I'm happy to go against the grain and say I'm enjoying lots of it, in the usual grumbly sort of way.

Plenty of farm business back on, and while we obviously have Helen, it's a lot more absorbing and (occasionally) believably than the endless Route B/Prudhoe chapters.

tibbawyrots · 16/05/2016 15:28

Instead of phoning an ambulance Kirsty should have dragged Rob's body to the pigs who would have eaten it. Helen would then be an abandoned woman as Rob had clearly walked away and never seen again and we wouldn't have to listen to Pat sobbing about how unfair it all is. I get the urge to lob something at the radio when she starts! Archers

tibbawyrots · 16/05/2016 15:33

Some kind of karma thinking that Rob would be made into scotch eggs. Archers

💀

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 16/05/2016 15:48

Every time Helen says, in tones of absolute surprise that anyone might think such a thing 'but I'd never hurt anyone!', I just want someone to say 'well.... obviously except with the stabbing though, right?'. Pat and Tony's astonishment that anyone might think their stabby daughter might just possibly have a violent bone in her body is bizarre - I mean yes, they know her, they feel there are probably mit circs, but surely they would have some sense of how it might look, just on the face of things, to a disinterested judge, you would think!

enochroot · 16/05/2016 15:51

I wonder if Anna has in mind for Pat to make a statement that would make the prosecution side drop her as their witness. I have no idea what though and Pat would probably mess it up.
The baby is due on Thursday so, whatever it is, she'd better do it fast.

enochroot · 16/05/2016 15:54

OTOH, Helen might go into labour in the van.

The baby will be wrapped in a towel at Trowell at the exact same spot where HeatherPet shuffled off TMC.

ppeatfruit · 16/05/2016 15:57

Why the fuck didn't Hell TELL ANNA THAT THE BABY WAS CONCEIVED BY RAPE?????????????

AskingForAPal · 16/05/2016 16:00

Me too Seek! Much as I think Jazzer etc have been a bit twatty about it, the fact that somebody has been arrested for nearly killing their spouse with a kitchen knife MIGHT make you doubt their pacifistic tendencies.

drspouse · 16/05/2016 16:06

Has she admitted this to herself though?

AugustaFinkNottle · 16/05/2016 16:07

Another one here thinking along those lines, Seek. The other day when Helen was asking (with ref to the Mother and Baby unit) how anyone could possibly think she might be a danger to anyone else, I was muttering at the radio "Well, you did sort of stab a man, that might get them just a tad worried."

Toomuchtea · 16/05/2016 16:14

Yes, me too, Augusta. It's not the sort of thing you'd miss on the submission form, is it?

And just because I can Archers. Thank you Olivia.

rissabirnie · 16/05/2016 16:14

Is it possible that Helen could sign something to say that she doesn't dispute Pat's statement? Surely then there would be no reason why Pat couldn't be Helen's birth partner.

Minimammoth · 16/05/2016 16:33

The sign looks a bit like a nuclear hazard sign to me.
Not caught up at all yet. Let me know when something happens.

AskingForAPal · 16/05/2016 16:44

Thank you mini! I knew it was some kind of warning sign but couldn't remember which one.

NotdeadyetBOING · 16/05/2016 17:18

Absolutely, Seek!!!! With bells on.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 16/05/2016 17:22

I'm basking in having posted something people agree with! Grin

NotdeadyetBOING · 16/05/2016 17:31

Bask away…. It really is absurd.

And I guess all this 'she couldn't hurt a fly' nonsense is being enabled by the fact that she is refusing to refer to 'the incident'. Clearly if she doesn't talk about it then it didn't happen ….

Can't decide whether I feel huge sympathy for Anna or contempt for her inability to do her job.

PeaceLoveGonk · 16/05/2016 18:00

If Helen says Rob raped her then everyone wil know that her baby was conceived through rape which will be awful for the child as he grows up. Imagine the gossip and the taunts in the playground.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 16/05/2016 18:02

Not much worse than being taunted cos your mum's in prison for stabbing your dad though!
