What do we think Anna's plan is re: Pat-at-birth?

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/05/2016 12:52

Peggy will be birth partner.

Except she won't in the end, because Prat will somehow manage to be allowed to be there (hinted at by Anna yesterday)

Which will be a load of [bull]

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/05/2016 12:54

Oh no! It didn't work Sad

How do we get the Bull emoticon?

redshoeblueshoe · 16/05/2016 12:54

Maybe its for when we call BS.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 16/05/2016 12:58

Anybody got any idea how/why Anna thinks Pat can be there? That confused me!

AskingForAPal · 16/05/2016 13:00

That's what I was wondering, Seek.

I think she'd have to get herself disallowed (football fan not lawyer) as a witness, wouldn't she? But no idea how. Or why Anna wouldn't have suggested it earlier if she could?

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 16/05/2016 13:15

yes, it's hard to see how Anna came away from that conversation with Helen with anything helpful on that score, yet we seem to be being told she did! Especially as Anna never seems to follow up on the hints Helen gives her in between maundering on about toffee.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 16/05/2016 13:15

I'm drawing a complete blank!

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 16/05/2016 13:25

Grin Grin at Seek's excellent summation of what passes for a script three nights a week at the moment.

Archers isn't on the emoticons on the mobile site yet. But then neither are some others like Bear Torch Tardis Dragon etc. Exclusive like.

enochroot · 16/05/2016 13:29
Archers

Just to see if it works.

EsmesBees · 16/05/2016 13:35

Oooh Archers I love it!

AugustaFinkNottle · 16/05/2016 13:39

When the blurb said that Tom was calling a meeting, I foolishly hoped it meant a get-together to galvanise everyone into doing something about helping with Helen's defence. Instead of which it's sodding pigs. FFS.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 16/05/2016 13:44

Augusta I thought that too!

DadDadDad · 16/05/2016 13:55

Whaaaaa? I'm sure I was one of the originators of this idea: "Emoticon would be very exciting! I'd like The Bull, a tiny pub. MNers would LOVE a pub emoticon, I'm sure."

This is so exciting, I've never helped invent an emoticon before.

Asking - I share your excitement! On this thread I wrote: (so I'm acknowledging I was promoting suggestions other had made):
How about this: make it a picture of a pub displayed by [inn]. As was said on other thread it could stand for community spirit / peace and love / keep it friendly, like a collective Wine. That could be used across mn.

On TA thread, we could then use this and write shit after it. We would know it stood for bullshit but it wouldn't have that connotation to non-Archers listeners.

So I celebrate the collective spirit that us brought us here: nearly 56,000 posts and our own emoticon! StarArchersStar

BYOSnowman · 16/05/2016 13:55

Just checking the thread on phone and wondering why you are all posting mini diagrams of a woman's reproductive system....

Gumpendorf · 16/05/2016 13:57

it's hard to see how Anna came away from that conversation with Helen

As northernlurker said last night, Anna is supposedly an experienced DV barrister so she will have pieced together from

  • I'm not looking forward to seeing this baby
  • I didn't want a child so soon after we married
  • Rob wanted us to have a baby straight away
  • I'm pregnant now so no point in talking about it

That Helen was raped and she finds it difficult to admit it.

I'm sure it's slow progress in RL cases but it doesn't make for good drama. Are we supposed to get cross about women in the CJ system now? If so, I'm cross bemused that they are taking Helen on a 2 hour drive in a prison van within days of her due date.

NotdeadyetBOING · 16/05/2016 13:58

They made a big point of Tony telling Pat that it was possible to volunteer or train (?) to be a birth partner for prisoners. I wonder if Pat isn't planning on doing a crash course - claiming she is suddenly deeply concerned about the plight of pregnant women in custody - and then, by astonishing coincidence, appearing at Helen's bedside in the nick of time….

Gumpendorf · 16/05/2016 13:59

Oops. Well done on the Archers

If I had been more alert in my last post I would have said this SL is a load of Archers

AskingForAPal · 16/05/2016 13:59

I've missed a lot of the discussions on here recently, but wouldn't someone - presumably Anna - have got some kind of abusive/controlling relationship checklist and put it in front of Helen before now?
