Ha, cross-post with three of you who obviously are listening!

changingnameforthispost · 10/04/2016 19:12

Anyone else hearing pennies dropping. I heart Tom too

GypsyFl0ss · 10/04/2016 19:13

I know! It felt like SOC having a right old dig Grin

Minimammoth · 10/04/2016 19:14

I am here but not listening. They are doing an item on DA on countryfile. Helrob and soc, and personal story.

Gruach · 10/04/2016 19:14

I am.

But when they replayed last Sunday on Pick of the Week I had to walk out of the room with my fingers in my ears.

Today is better. Village reaction and domestic disagreements over degrees of guilt. Although I doubt that Eddie would truly be so cheery with all this going on.

Empressa · 10/04/2016 19:18

I'm here but haven't listened yet - sounds like I'm in for a treat! I'll have to catch up tomorrow as I'm on a plane tonight...

Amnesiac · 10/04/2016 19:19

I know - is it turning into a meta-script? if I understand the meaning of meta correctly?

Pat'n'Tone are doing my head in. Little Henwee keeps having all sorts of bad dreams, going to P'n'T's room ... and they send him back. It took Henwee to have the bright idea of "why doesn't he stay in our bed". For all her protestations, I don't think Pat has a maternal bone in her body.

mummytime · 10/04/2016 19:23

Questions for Bridge farm including MSP Tony.
Why is Henry so upset about school?
Has anyone checked the shop including books?
Has anyone talked to the wider family about Rob? Shula had more than one reason to have doubts, similarly Adam.

Gruach · 10/04/2016 19:24

I'm seriously beginning to wonder who on earth they thought would find this entertaining. Lord knows, life is hard enough. I want some reflection of human misfortune in TA - but this isn't TV; it won't all be forgotten in a couple of weeks.

redshoeblueshoe · 10/04/2016 19:24

I wondered why Pat didn't think about what Henwee has been saying, she said he keeps dreaming he is being chased by a baddie.

PAT LISTEN TO HIM

It seems to me that after a late start total oblivion PatnTone are going to realise that Henry was being bullied and abused by Rob as he reveals his fears of the Ogre. That will help when they discuss it with Nadia his Social Worker. Hopefully they will tell Dominic the Solicitor too as I will be critical information.

EsmesBees · 10/04/2016 19:28

Nice to hear references to the church funds and shepards hut storylines. Bit of respite from the horror.

EmilyDickinson · 10/04/2016 19:28

I found tonight's episode with various people starting to take sides very interesting.

Tom - firmly in Helen's corner.

Tony - seems to still find it hard to believe Rob wasn't a nice guy. I found his, pregnancy does strange things to women stance extremely annoying.

Clarrie - I love her. She's so loyal. She said she'd known Helen since she was a little girl and something must have happened to make her "lose her rag". Nice bit of understatement there!

Eddie - bit shocked that he's condemned Helen so quickly.

We already know that Susan's on Rob's side and that Pat seems to think that Helen's actions were due to mental illness.

Poor Henry, being chased by an ogre in his dreams. Will anyone work out the ogre is Rob. Is Henry upset about school because he thinks he's being sent off to boarding school right now? I do wish the Bridge Farm lot would talk to Henry a bit more.

Minimammoth · 10/04/2016 19:29

Surely bridge farm will want a sick note by nowGrin

EBearhug · 10/04/2016 19:30

Why would Rob's bank account be stopped? I very much doubt anyone has thought of contacting the bank. They freeze bank accounts when someone dies (which he hasn't so far), but you still have to inform them first.

But yes, I would expect the rent to be paid by DD, and it will carry on until someone informs the bank otherwise. If there's no income coming in - and that depends when pay day is - if it's the end of the month, probably no one will think about it until they come up to sorting out that month's payroll in a week or two.

Ursula will just be thinking of it as Rob's home, so of course it's all right for her to stay there, especially as it's only a couple of weeks since she last left.

EBearhug · 10/04/2016 19:31

So did I!

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 10/04/2016 19:33

I don't think I can bear to listen any more. It's just so tortuous without anything much happening other than the bloody obvious being treated as utterly remarkable and wrong.

Now I'm no child psychologist but I would expect most children experiencing the sort of trauma Henwee has (they know he witnessed the stabbing) would have nightmares and it's not exactly that unusual to start wetting in the day time after such upset.

I don't think I can stand Tony's selective memory either about Rob. Rob who's always been an arrogant bastard and had a temper even outside of Bloody Hell Cottage.

Let me know when it's back to egg laying hens and Shepard huts. Oh and please let Bert be the fire starter with Freda as his accomplice. Or so he says. Or maybe Daryl in revenge for the great wrongs visited upon him? Anything but poor little boys suffering the aftermath of emotional abuse :(

kesstrel · 10/04/2016 19:34

I took the "chased by an ogre" thing to be Rob turning on him and shouting/rushing toward him just before the stabbing. It's pretty clear the social worker didn't get that out of him - she said herself she was concerned that she hadn't pushed him enough. But if he doesn't tell the social worker before Pat and Tony see Helen, Rob's side will be able to say that Pat and Tony put it into his head, to agree with Helen's story. Worried...

Gruach · 10/04/2016 19:36

The things they're making Tony say are very interesting. (Not the women and hormones nonsense ...)

Did they give Helen enough reassurance as a child? Does he think Pat favoured her lovely older son?

To lose another child ... Is he cutting Helen off, emotionally?

And Tom must wish he'd stayed in that log cabin. So much pressure on him now as Tony's "only" child.

kesstrel · 10/04/2016 19:39

And I thought that Tony's and Eddie's attitudes were good illustrations of how people are still so ignorant about domestic abuse, and how they still believe someone as personable as Rob wouldn't be guilty of it. Which is an important point to make.
