BBC summary of Facebook chat

SOC will return? Shock

Is there therapy for Archers Addicts? I need to wean myself off this drug now.

MrsArthurShappey · 15/04/2016 08:23

creme damn you, that'll teach me to be a smart arse! Grin

Minimammoth · 15/04/2016 08:32

I am cross, I will sit in this small huff in the corner, and mutter.

Boomingmarvellous · 15/04/2016 08:38

The truth about DV situations are they do run for year and years. Fights and mind games over custody and access. Stalking. Warping children's minds Sad

They don't normally have an attempted murder in the middle

R4 · 15/04/2016 08:44

The Helen and Rob story having years to run - how depressing.

Not at all. Storylines should run for years but they should be part of the warp and weft, not headline-grabbing to the extent that they elbow out all other stories.
However, does SOC not realise that he is no longer in charge?

What's wrong mammoth?

Gruach · 15/04/2016 09:04
Grin

What are we muttering about?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 15/04/2016 09:22

Has anybody suggested the possibility that Rob in addition to tracking Helen may have had her under surveillance at home? He might have recorded the whole thing.

Bit Eastenders though anything is possible these days.

ElgartheCat · 15/04/2016 09:30

I think there was a bit of Cabin Pressure crossover. Was the social worker who didn't do her job properly while interviewing Henwee, played by the same actress who played Linda, the pride of Penicuik, and First Officer in Air Caledonia?

AugustaFinkNottle · 15/04/2016 09:45

It was a police officer interviewing Henry, not a social worker.

Gruach · 15/04/2016 10:05

They're talking about children who live with DV at home on WH right now.

ElgartheCat · 15/04/2016 10:29

Sorry, so the police officer was .....

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 15/04/2016 10:30

I thought I'd heard they would be exploring more the impact on Henry so I'm going to keep checking in here first before I listen. I honestly can't bear hearing the impact on him.

I'd like more cows please. And maybe sheep or chickens. Or maybe debates about whether the bed in Lynda's Sheperd's Hut is going to the big or strong enough for an amorous encounter.

MrsArthurShappey · 15/04/2016 10:40

Well unless there's some handy Rob-installed surveillance cameras in the cottage, Henry might well be Helen's best chance at being believed. Children pick up more than many people give them credit for, so he's probably witnessed all sorts Sad. I think we need to hear him being 'interviewed', and it needs to be spot on.

2rebecca · 15/04/2016 10:45

I'm preferring this week and actually listening again. I want to hear more characters again and the usual variety of stories not just HelRob melodrama.
If they cut down the endless birthday celebrations and comedy Grundy storylines it would be even better.

MrsArthurShappey · 15/04/2016 12:42

2rebecca me too! But (oh the irony) I've just listened to last night's and at the end I though 'Oh, is that it? Bit dull!'. SOC would be so proud Angry Blush

mummytime · 15/04/2016 13:37

Last night wasn't dull. There was lots of subtle foreshadowing.

Shula still thinks of Dr Locke as hers, and will be very miffed when she realises another old bf prefers her sister (last one was Nigel). Especially if Lizzie and Locke getting together partners Shula and Alastair's marriage falling apart.

MrsArthurShappey · 15/04/2016 13:44

I did 'enjoy' Susan gossiping away again as well.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 15/04/2016 14:26

booming indeed. Indeed.

A positive resolution for women in DA is leaving and coming to terms with it and trying to give their dc time to heal. It is not narrowly getting off a murder conviction having given birth in jail.

Clearly just boring old DA on its own is not enough for a woman to go throughHmm and surviving that is not enough of triumph.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 15/04/2016 14:28

I keep asking myself why I don't just leave, I know SOC is not good for me, he doesn't make me happy, he lies to me, he makes shit up, he belittles me by making out he is cleverer than me, he is sexist and overbearing. So why, why don't I just leave him stop listening to TA.

But I loved TA. I really loved them. It makes it so hard to leave. I keep thinking if I just stay a bit longer maybe he'll change and it will go back to the way it used to be.

I don't recognise myself the characters anymore.

I'd like to leave stop listening.

But I am worried about him getting custody of the characters. I used to think he was a good editor and he loved the characters. But now I am not so sure. He just treats them like property and is only interested in them when they fit his plot.

I think hope he had another woman show behind our backs. Enders or something her name is.With any luck he'll just leave us.

But then I worry he will still be interfering in the characters lives for years.

I've tried contacting the police Feedback but they just don't seem to care. They said they'd take a note of it and to phone back if the ratings go down.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 15/04/2016 14:39

It's the cycle of abuse rebecca. He's hoovering you back in againWink

They're talking about children who live with DV at home on WH right now.

Interestingly (or maybe that's not the word) my dc have started asking more questions about their dad since hearing bits of Rob. I said nothing about their dad and any similarities to Rob.

It think it has been good for them to think about some of these things in a fictional setting.

The stabbing sl not so much.

One of them asked me 'did you ever want to kill dad?' Sad (No of course not. I may not like him but still.)

MrsArthurShappey · 15/04/2016 14:40

SmallLegs take a bow!

2rebecca · 15/04/2016 14:41

I thought he was imminently getting the chop/ being redeployed elsewhere in the BBC/pretending he's chosen to leave. That's why I'm optimistically listening again.

AugustaFinkNottle · 15/04/2016 14:50

I don't think we're going to hear any interview with Henry, because they'll probably draw the line at getting a small child to read lines about stabbing and blood etc.

AugustaFinkNottle · 15/04/2016 14:52

One of the things I've always found vaguely surprising is that Elizabeth made no move to build on the alleged success on Loxfest. OK, it's got unfortunate memories, but it doesn't seem like good business success to waste all the know-how and all the work they did in building up contacts, finding out what worked, developing publicity etc. So how does that demonstration of business acumen get her into the position of being runner-up for Borsetshire Businesswoman of the Year?

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 15/04/2016 15:00

Just realised in my head Rob looks like Dominic West

Augusta she gets nominated for being A Woman in TA with A Business. Apparently this is not common.
