I can't listen to Adam/Ed conversations without picturing Ted and Ralph from The Fast Show

All that innuendo laden talk of Ed being 'up for new experiences' and talk of 'a weekend away'.

DadDadDad · 14/04/2016 13:21

Did you call? I shall check the spreadshit shortly.

sorry but I have to say it - SOC & LP ON Newsnight could easily have been Rob & Helen' Grouch

I haven't seen Newsnight yet but I had a similar thought when hearing the WH interview. In fact you don't usually see an actor being interviewed alongside an editor anyway.

MrsArthurShappey · 14/04/2016 13:22

Grin Winterlight

LillianGish · 14/04/2016 13:32

I can't be bothered to trawl back and find it, but many threads ago I said I thought Knob was SOC (At the time I thought that was why no one in the SW team or cast dared to speak up and say such and such a character would never behave like that or put SOC right on any points from the archive - that's how Dr Lock's comment about having met Knob before slipped through - no one dared to contradict or feared suffering the same fate as old Tom, old Pip and all the other characters who never speak anymore).

Gruach · 14/04/2016 13:43

Indeed, Lil'G. It does make me abnormally curious about what, exactly, is going on in a certain corner of Birmingham ...

Winterlight I knew you were going to say The Fast ShowGrin. Oh dear. D'you think that's how they'll end up? (Except, Ed is never going to be the smarter of these two.)

DadDadDad · 14/04/2016 13:48

Lillian - I remember now that comment, so please don't think I was trying to palm your theory off as my own - it's difficult to remember everything that's been said!

DadDadDad · 14/04/2016 13:54

Anyway, for MrsShappey (or can I call you Arthur), here's a graph.

Mark my words. Annabel is winning Borsetshire Businesswoman is the Year. Lilian putting Elizabeth up was just a means of Justin getting there. And. Why isn't no.1 The Green ready yet? They need a visit from Sara the Ambridge Building Fairy.

Putthetulipsthere · 14/04/2016 14:08

Just watched Newsnight.

oh dear - SOC is becoming more & more like Rob! Maybe he doesn't realise it.??

Agree with earlier poster that this weeks episodes have been better written. Although I'm surprised we haven't heard Adam or Ian mention Helen yet.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 14/04/2016 14:09

LOVING your graph DDD

Putthetulipsthere · 14/04/2016 14:10

Thanks for the graph D3.😀

DadDadDad · 14/04/2016 14:27

OK, question for Putthtulips.. (or anyone else): how do you add a smiley to your post the way you just did. It's not one of the MN ones using [ and ], so I'm curious how it's done, and whether there's a list of the smileys available - I must have been away the day MN did the training on this. Confused

Gruach · 14/04/2016 14:44

Like this❓

They're on my iphone keypad.

(No idea if that will come out.)

DadDadDad · 14/04/2016 14:45

OK, thanks, if you could just send me your iphone keypad, I'll be sorted. Grin

Anyone know how to do it on a PC?

TheSilveryPussycat · 14/04/2016 14:52

Like DDD my view is probably shaped by Lillian's earlier opinion. And as I've said, means I feel (kind of) abused by SOC.

After all my vows and raging above it is just possible I may listen to the film this week. Thanks to those on this thread who have listened, so I don't have to! Now thanks to your reports, I feel I do have to...:)

LillianGish · 14/04/2016 15:48

And now they are not mentioned. We are forced to believe SOC's highly edited history, which seems to have been re-written such that these things never happened. brilliantly put. That seems to be exactly what has happened. And once the Knob and Hellin audio book thing comes out history will have well and truly been rewritten - SOCs hasty departure is rather like Knob's departure from Berrow before questions could be asked.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 14/04/2016 17:26

I presume Rob will be awake now.
Will be interesting. He probably doesn't realise he is abusive ao I wonder how he will rationalise Hel stabbing him. Obvs there will be what he believes and what he tells the police and neither will be what happened.

DadDadDad · 14/04/2016 17:27

I wonder if Rob SOC complains about those harpies on Mumsnet who just want a nice middle-class drama to play in the background while they cook supper on the Aga for their little darlings.

DadDadDad · 14/04/2016 17:34

Will Rob swing between...

"this is why I was so concerned about Helen - I really could see she was in danger of a breakdown, but I never thought she would snap like that; if we can get the right help, maybe we can get through this and rebuild the marriage"

and (in his head or to Helen)...

"I was right that she needed to be kept in her place - more fool me for underestimating how dangerous she could get without a firm line being taken. How are we going to make sure she's locked away, Henry's palmed off and I get to keep my real son (once he's grown into a strong lad, my mother can look after him while he's a baby)?"

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 14/04/2016 18:18

📊👏

DadDadDad · 14/04/2016 18:22

MOMO - I think you are both applauding me and taunting me with my inability to do emojis. Confused

Eastpoint · 14/04/2016 18:37

Love the graph Dad^3. Thank you. I am listening again as I assume Rob is now a silent. I'm really not sure how Elizabeth can be nominated as Businesswoman of the Year, she hasn't done anything new since she had LoxFest (double intendre unintended).

AnnieNoMouse · 14/04/2016 19:09

Shula - do they employ lady scaffolders?
Yes Shula, we are no longer living in the 1970's (a time when yellow towels were plentiful in every department store in the land) so it is a possibility.

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 14/04/2016 19:12

Shock laydee scaffolders Shock

I hate Shula
