Helen knows she's not cracking up - Knob is an eggomaniac.

Are we eggshausted with this storyline?

Farms are not like other businesses when it comes to divorce. The courts do not like to break up a farm as it may make it unviable.

In knobs case he will have very little claim on anything unless he gets both children Shock
If he doesn't he will be deemed able to support himself.

The marriage is very short lived so assets of both parties are taken into account and as Hellin has nothing but her share of the farm I can't see how he will be awarded very much. Especially if a it is proven he has been controlling and abusive and possibly his one aim was to gain control of the farm?

Twowrongsdontmakearight · 26/03/2016 13:35

I hate to go against the grain here but I think that Rob has hoodwinked everyone so well that nobody will believe Helen. They all think he's such a good chap etc and Helen has had MH issues in the past....

And as the editor (?) is ex Eastenders or Corrie we're not necessarily going to get a realistic outcome, more of a headline grabber. So will Helen be sanctioned under the MH act and give birth in a MH ward....or even lose the baby?

Boomingmarvellous · 26/03/2016 13:39

I think knob will 1471 her call or redial as Hellin hasn't learned yet how to cover her tracks.

If she has any sense she will deny outright. Getting into a conversation/argument always ends with Rob coming out on top. Lying outright is a very effective tactic as knob knows

Putthetulipsthere · 26/03/2016 13:40

recycling glad to hear Knob didn't actually hear her speaking.

I wonder if he will go so far that he takes away her mobile and house phone? I guess he is getting desperate now & will do anything to reassert control.

Boomingmarvellous · 26/03/2016 13:40

Kirsty believes Hellin. So does WA.

Once Hellin realises all the gas lighting she will calm down and act like a rational human being again.

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/03/2016 13:42

I don't think Rob has hoodwinked everyone - a lot of people have reservations about him - Jennifer, Shula, David, Tom, Kirsty, Adam, Ian, PC Burns and even Carol.

It is just that none of them seem to talk.

Gruach · 26/03/2016 13:44

Another thing ...

It's not just SOC and Timothy Watson who are doing well out of this. Louiza Patikas has had her profile well and truly raised by Helen's plight. The Telegraph article points out that she's been doing other stuff here and there - but I'd imagine she's come to the attention of a good few more directors, producers, companies, etc. Her acting has been compelling, her photos are increasingly glamorous and she's being interviewed everywhere.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if Helen finds herself called away from Ambridge for extended periods quite soon. Just hope it will be a happy story.

lljkk · 26/03/2016 14:24

Imagine how bad Pat is going to feel when she realises. That could be a fury like no other...
Pat felt so bad for sheltering Sharon (who was perhaps unfairly blamed for John's death).
I'd feel simply horrified to find out my daughter had been abused under my nose by a man I trusted.

DoSomethingKirsty · 26/03/2016 14:40

Thank you Recycling and Booming - that's good to know.

I think Helen will have plenty of people on her side when the truth comes out. Adam, Shula, Kirtsy and Ian have all seen the nasty side. Tom is suspicious. Who knows what Tony thinks? It's only Pat who is too stupid to realise at the moment.

Fallon and Emma saw the controlling side at the tea shop last week too.

I still wonder why David and Jennifer didn't do anything about the blocked culvert and the disappearance of Stefan. There are so many story lines that need to be brought to an end...

ColdTeaAgain · 26/03/2016 14:58

Thank you for new thread. No time to post much but am trying to keep up! Last nights was brilliant.

Still keeping fingers crossed for total public shaming of Knob over the coming weeks. I think it will be either prison or he will just cut his losses and run, never to be seen again. hopefully prison!

EmilyDickinson · 26/03/2016 15:45

When Rob returned to the cottage after dropping Henry at Bridge Farm and took Helen's keys from her bag, he said that he'd been discussing Helen's behaviour with Pat and Tony and implied that all three of them had come up with this scheme to protect Helen from herself by confiscating her car keys.

I just wonder how much truth there is in that? I don't think that Pat and Tony would be quite so high handed. I suspect it's part of Rob further isolating Helen from her parents by making her feel that they will side with and believe Rob rather than her if she kicks up a fuss, thus preventing her from seeking their help.

I wonder if in fact Pat expressed concern about Helen after seeing her distress yesterday, asked if she was alright etc. And Rob said, "Yes, Pat, it was very worrying Helen flying off the handle like that, and driving whilst she was in such a state too. She could easily have had an accident. It just doesn't bear thinking about. Don't worry though, I'm making sure that she has plenty of rest, and I won't leave the car keys lying around, just in case. (Mirthless chuckle.)"

lljkk · 26/03/2016 15:56

I thought Knob meant "Pat & Tony agree you over-reacted", not something about car keys. Probably another bald lie anyway, possibly exchanged no words at all with either of them!

I was surprised that Hell still had car keys. It's expensive to keep a car parked on the drive for months & bad for the car. Does anyone ever use Hell's car?? Then I was surprised that Hell even protested about the keys she's been told not to ever use.

Knob's brass is amazing. To Hell: "Pat, Tony & I agree..." To Pat "Helen and I feel..." Lying scoundrel. His downfall will be delicious.

Who was it removed the wheels from Knob's car? Kenton? I really should have enjoyed that more at the time...

Do we still think Hell has possibly been drugged? I know Knob fecked with her by hiding things (like the chequebook), but other times when she was so wildly fatigued for days solid, making it hard to function. That wasn't coincidence, was it?

drspouse · 26/03/2016 16:08

I'm really sorry to hijack, or possibly sidejack, but I think I've just seen a shepherd's hut. Like a small, dull traditional Roma caravan?

Stickerrocks · 26/03/2016 16:11

How can I possibly be making the 90th post on a new thread on a Saturday afternoon when nothing has happened since last night? Start thinking of new titles Pseudo.

DoctorTwo · 26/03/2016 16:16

Thanks for the new thread Pseudo, and congrats on your 50th Archers thread. Thanks Star Wine Bear

Eastpoint · 26/03/2016 16:44

Thank you for the new thread Pseudo.

MargieBargie · 26/03/2016 17:21

I feel nervous about the next episode; I loved Helen telling him to cook supper himself but it will probably have enraged him. I guess he's going to hit her again, possibly worse than last time, and then he's going to be sniveling and crying, buying flowers blah-di-blah.

I think that's basically what's going to happen leading up to Women's Hour. Afterwards he's going to keep on at Pat and Tony about how unstable Helen is, and he'll try to keep her shut up at home. But hopefully it will be enough to really make Helen see what a psycho he is and she will (please!) realize she has to get herself and Henry safe, and finally reach out to Kirsty.

lljkk · 26/03/2016 17:43

I think we're all nervous about tomorrow's episode. :( It could be a build up to nothing "for now" & to be honest that would be good too... keep us guessing. Just like Knob keeps Helen off balance.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 26/03/2016 18:00

I have finally caught up after a massive listening session today and de lurking.

I keep shouting at the radio as well as it is very frustrating to listen to!

I like the idea of the Fairbrothers moving into the Bungalow and keeping Burt company.

And will it be daggers at dawn when Shula realises Richard has the hots for Elizabeth?

GypsyFl0ss · 26/03/2016 18:03

I think Lizzie has the hots for Richard and how can Shula complain about that? Grin

northender · 26/03/2016 18:24

marking my spot

FiveGoMadInDorset · 26/03/2016 18:26

Because I think Shula has the hots for Richard as well and all doesn't seem quite right at the riding stables

Imbroglio · 26/03/2016 18:47

More sibling rivalry - just what we need....

glowfrog · 26/03/2016 18:50

I was reminded yesterday that Rob opted out of adopting Henry because he didn't like the amount of background checking involved. What could he be hiding that no one else - incl Jess - knows? A child somewhere that he already pays out maintenance to??

That could explain his suspected thievery.

Or maybe he's just paranoid nut job. Grin
