No more walking on eggshells for Helen! Heading for an eggsplosive Easter weekend in The Archers - will Helen Archer be resurrected by the end of this thread?

Helen knows she's not cracking up - Knob is an eggomaniac.

Are we eggshausted with this storyline?

I see Dorothy in red shoes with a small dog named Toto.

The comment about DDs and gravy is all too true in my experience!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/03/2016 22:22

Well, Pollyanna here thoroughly enjoyed tonight's episode. I like Dan and I thought Dorothy sounded fine. No reason why she has to drink. As for the separate rooms thing, I don't think it necessarily means they aren't sleeping together at all, just that for the time being they're not doing it under their parents' roofs. From the sound of it, she works in Birmingham - my guess is she's a nurse.

As for not eating lamb till the summer, didn't half the country just have it for Easter lunch/dinner?

We usually have coffee (decaff) after our evening meal. Don't often have mints, though. Sad

GypsyFl0ss · 30/03/2016 22:27

I thought St Shugs fed the Doc lamb on Sunday too , followed by Jill's apple pie.

GypsyFl0ss · 30/03/2016 22:29

Pseudo please can we have the cuntery , folk title?

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 30/03/2016 22:36

Gypsy - she did. Perhaps tonight's lamb was leftovers...

Either that or she's a shockingly unimaginative cook.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/03/2016 22:38

Another vote for cuntery, folk

Can't remember who came up with it originally but it was inspired

DadDadDad · 30/03/2016 22:43

As next thread will number 51, could make a reference in title to Area 51 - was in the news the other day, as Clinton says she will open up its secrets. What secrets are about to see the light of day in Ambridge?

magnificatAnimaMea · 30/03/2016 22:43

Doesn't a lot of lamb in the UK supermarkets come from NZ? Plenty of grass-fed lamb round here at the moment (well at least, before Christmas, but one assumes it gets long-term frozen before ending up on a supermarket shelf in the UK) to bung in plastic and ship to Tesco...

Swirlingasong · 30/03/2016 22:44

Actually, I thought the Dan, Dorothy, Shula scenes rang true. It seems my mother may be a real life Shula. I t hink I'll need some time to process this realisation.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/03/2016 22:48

Shula said right at the start of the episode that it was unimaginative to have lamb twice in a week, and Dan said it was fine because it was delicious.

I like that Area 51 idea, DDD!

Gruach · 30/03/2016 22:48

You have been missed Lil'G. Good luck with the wi fi recovery.Brew

Pseudo mentioned above that the inspired thread title is awaiting its moment - so we need not fretGrin.

PseudoBadger · 30/03/2016 23:08

Hopefully the new thread can wait until morning at least....

ds has asd and can be a little , erm, insistent with dd. he was demanding something of her and I told him that he sounded like the baddie rob. that shut him up. even a seven yr old knows rob is a baddie.

there may have been several outbursts of shouting at the radio and discussing what is wrong with his behaviour.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 31/03/2016 00:11

Ah, Gasp0de - that explains it. We were in the car and I was trying to get DH and DD to shut up so I could hear what was being said. Yuck, lamb - greasy and fatty. I think I'll give Shula's a miss then.

PresidentOliviaMumsnet · 31/03/2016 00:29

Apols if this has been posted but just saw on twitter this feature saying that Boarding School Alliance claim plot is damaging
NOT once do they mention that they would barely take a reception aged child?!?

Putthetulipsthere · 31/03/2016 01:22

Like DDD's suggestion of Area 51

Dot & Dan not wanting to share a bedroom is odd if they do normally sleep together. And yes to earlier poster saying Knob has made us suspicious - she's far too nice not to be a psychopath.

Have just scrolled through posts from last night & I was very sorry to see tone of thread had changed. 😩

Putthetulipsthere · 31/03/2016 01:26

Very interested to see the link re boarding schools Olivia! That story line was unbelievable.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 31/03/2016 07:07

Dan and Dot don't live together, though. It's a long-distance relationship and they have only known each other a very short time.

Colabottle10 · 31/03/2016 07:11

Could Dorothy be a midwife? And thus have another use in the current Hel/Rob SL?

Scarydinosaurs · 31/03/2016 07:18

Not odd if Dot is religious?

bakeoffcake · 31/03/2016 07:39

Oh yes, maybe Dotty is a midwife it may well all tie in with Helen and the baby. or maybe it won't

Butteredparsnips · 31/03/2016 07:43

I wondered what Dorothy's ethnic background is? As pointed out, it is an unusual name for a British 20 year old, but might be more popular in Africa or other parts of the commonwealth. This of course could fit with religious beliefs.

Does Ambridge have any other ethnicities apart from Amy?

Kr1stina · 31/03/2016 07:54

Clearly I live in Ambridge

I know one 20 something called Dorothy

I know quite a few 20 somethings who are religious and don't plan to have sex until they are engaged or married . And a lot more who would feel uncomfortable sleeping together at their parents house , especially if they are just dating and not actually living together.

But weirdest of all - we have YELLOW towels . From John Lewis . Because our bathroom tiles are yellow and black . I know it's unusual but they ( the tiles not the towels ) were here when we bought the house and are very old so I refuse to rip them out .

Just thought I'd mention that

redshoeblueshoe · 31/03/2016 07:57

Area 51 good
Does anyone know any Dorothy under 60 ? Which means its probably due for a comeback.
Olivia nice to see the BSA (good acronym Grin ) object to lack of consent from Helen, not Henwee's age.

redshoeblueshoe · 31/03/2016 07:59

Kr1stina is your DH called Keri ?
