Helen knows she's not cracking up - Knob is an eggomaniac.

Are we eggshausted with this storyline?

I'd assumed she was Dorothy because it's the closest they could get to Doris. (Dan + Doris ...)

But now it looks as if Pseudo was right all along.

Would be very odd.

sunnydayinmay · 30/03/2016 19:22

Hmm, I know a few girls like Dorothy. Will be interesting to see her family background.

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 30/03/2016 19:23

"You have such a lovely warm home St Smugula I can see why Dan is so..."
"So, what?"
"gay nice"

Stickerrocks · 30/03/2016 19:25

At least Dan has confirmed that Alistair isn't under the patio, but that opens thing up for him to have stolen the money from the vestry to pay his gambling debts.

I'm sure Adam & Ian are the only gays in the village. SOC thinks we need a wholesome couple to bring back all those listeners who have protested at the other storyline.

Dorothy, Dot, Dotty? Wants to 'save herself', maybe bad things have happened to her? Maybe a cultish upbringing? The truth will rise out like an infected spot. As it seems to be at the moment in TA.

AnnieNoMouse · 30/03/2016 19:27

DH listened tonight - he's a non-listener but heard Friday's very chilling episode so is getting sucked in - and his prediction is that Dorothy will shag Alastair. Hmm

What is Dorothy's job? Do we know?

Who today calls their friends' parents Mr and Mrs, my kids and their friends certainly don't - I'd be very taken aback if they did. In fact I remember over 20 years ago a friend telling me that her parents expected her fiancé to call them Mr and Mrs whatever, and I thought it was old-fashioned then.

Alf did not take the ££, but he's working class and an outsider so I guess he's fair game Hmm

AnnieNoMouse · 30/03/2016 19:30

Dorothy sounds like Ellie who sounds like Sasha - TA casts from a very narrow gene pool I think.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/03/2016 19:33

Smugula was not above a bit of sexual shenanigans in her heyday though.

And she so would with the vicar, even now.

SaffyRosie · 30/03/2016 19:33

No, its not.because he's working class or an outsider but because he has previously stolen, George's pocket money and money from Clarey's purse.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/03/2016 19:35

Ooh Annie your DH may be on to something there!

Alistair rather likes very young women - according to the execrable Ambridge Extra that was on a few years ago.

AnnieNoMouse · 30/03/2016 19:35

But the SW have made him into a character who steals because he is working class and an outsider?

AnnieNoMouse · 30/03/2016 19:36

Tell me more Bore - I never heard AmEx

Shallishanti · 30/03/2016 19:37

well, to be fair there are plenty of wc/outsider characters who ARENT thieves

Minimammoth · 30/03/2016 19:44

I got drawn into listening to today's repeat. Why did Helen not say 'I have been advised by the consultant'? why is R so insistent on home birth? So many questions.
I think H will run away / escape and then be castigated by family for leaving the best husband ever, before the truth truly outs.

AugustaFinkNottle · 30/03/2016 19:44

Aww to Eddie and Clarrie. Another compare and contrast to the HellRob relationship.

WipsGlitter · 30/03/2016 19:45

I think she's maybe a wee bit old fashioned but you only have to read threads on here to see separate rooms are not unusual when girlfriends/boyfriends visit. The not drinking and the nervy driving though... Epilepsy?

Do we think Rob has stolen the church money?

recyclingbag · 30/03/2016 19:46

To be fair to Helen, Rob didn't exactly give her a chance.

I'd be fairly insistent that I was the one giving bloody birth too, rather than spell out a logical case.

AugustaFinkNottle · 30/03/2016 19:47

Looks to me like she is falling for it again. can she really be that stupid?

As pointed out before, it's not stupidity. She's been thoroughly gaslit into thinking that Knob must be wonderful and any problems are all her own fault, and she desperately wants her suspicions not to be right because otherwise she has to accept that the man she thought was absolutely wonderful is in fact the absolute reverse. Therefore any evidence that her suspicions aren't right will inevitably come as a massive relief. However, she clearly hasn't completely given in again, given the way she was so firm about going with her own instincts about a hospital birth and is hiding the fact that she's talking to Kirsty.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/03/2016 19:52

I didn't listen myself Anne but I heard about it. He developed a thing for Dan's teenage then-girlfriend, Erin, who was getting work experience at his vet practice.

Found. transcript of the episode

ponderingthearchers.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/ambridge-extra-tuesday-6th-december.html

Don't think it went any further but pretty sleazy.

KingscoteStaff · 30/03/2016 20:00

Very lovely shepherd's hut in the Evening Standard this evening. French doors painted in Farrow and Ball gray and I think I can spot the flue of a wood burning stove inside.

No Llamas, though.

bakeoffcake · 30/03/2016 20:02

I was listening to Dorothy thinkiing, she doesn't drink, is very kind and polite therefore she must be another psychopath.. Rob has a lot to answer forSad

AnnieNoMouse · 30/03/2016 20:05

bore interesting, what a creep.
But now I want to know about Catherine as well. She was Amy's mother and Alan's wife? What happened to her? I assumed Alan was a widow, but that link suggests things happened that even Alan didn't know about. What were those things?

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/03/2016 20:09

Alan was indeed a widower.

I have a vague idea that it came out that Amy's mother was a drug addict/ alcoholic or something similar but may have misremembered.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/03/2016 20:11
