Chocolate Chip cookie anyone?

I think the glow is a reference to putting on weight which i still think Rob will manipulate her with somehow, there are constant references to food from him. #omlettegate

What do we think the Alistair storyline is leading to?? Gambling again?

mollie123 · 12/08/2015 12:14

Shula and Alistair?
she was wittering on about wanting to change her life Shock a week or so ago
will Alistair have an affair or will she have a mid-life crisis now Daniel is away learning about guns and there is an 'empty nest'

WipsGlitter · 12/08/2015 12:21

Not another affair!!

I think she will bid on a property in Italy and then find the coffers are empty.

ppeatfruit · 12/08/2015 12:24

Yes I agree Wips and The original But Hell had eaten an 'eggs benedict' with Ian hadn't she? I don't have too many eggs in a day either. Grin

Dumdedumdedum · 12/08/2015 12:27

Hello! I didn't see you there! I'm a long term listener to The Archers but I'm another who hides behind the sofa when Rob and Hellbent are about. Thank you for keeping me up to date on the tabards, though, brilliant thread title!

Icimoi · 12/08/2015 12:32

If anything, it will be Shula having an affair with the doc.

I agree that Henry's friends won't be allowed to come round to play - Knob will be sneering about how common they are and claiming that they are a bad influence, as he did with Emmur's kids. He won't want to take the risk of Helen getting pally with the other mums.

NotdeadyetBOING · 12/08/2015 12:32

Hurrah - found new thread. Loving Helrob saga. Managed to persuade DH to start listening and he is already sending me outraged texts about the horror that is Knob. But I'm afraid Hellin has become totally insufferable so my sympathy for her is waning in a major way. Agree with PP about growing crush on Charlie.

enochroot · 12/08/2015 12:33

I think Charlie's investigation will culminate in Rob being given a warning and he will resign then fall back on managing Helen's share of the farm. He's keen for Helen to get pregnant to give him the excuse.

squeaver · 12/08/2015 13:56

So these are the new rules Chez Titchener:

  • No phone calls before 10am
  • No playdates for Henry
  • No brunch dates/friends for Hellin
  • Cooked lunch to be provided a minimum of 3 x a week. No prior notice of lunch should be expected.
  • Post-lunch baby-making mandatory
  • All finances to be controlled by Rob

Go Team Charlie. The sooner he finds out the missing money's being sent to hush up Stefan, the better.

Hello to our new posters! Hope you stick around, these threads are great.

Yes, Rob would have to adopt Henry to become his father legally. Alistair had to do that to be Daniel's father.

mollie123 · 12/08/2015 14:57

thank you gaspode I thought that would be the case - so he is not 'Daddy' yet.
I am glad I found this forum - had been posting on Archers Addicts when (for my sins) I was a member of Gnet but they don't have the 'in depth' conversations/analysis I have found here as well as the answers to the bizarre logic behind the storylines Grin

Dumdedumdedum · 12/08/2015 15:07

Apologies if this has already been mentioned - but why on earth did the Titchenors think Henry (who is how old? Maximum 5, surely?) would be excited to learn that his Mummy had married a knob? Even more puzzling, why did Henry react as if he cared?!

Just listened to yesterday's episode. Poor Helen, she really believes she's in a relationship where what she says and thinks matters. She thinks that because she's said no to a baby now then that's the end of it Confused

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 12/08/2015 15:35

Well she could hide her pills and not say anything to Rob. I'm pleased she's holding out against knob in that respect anyway. Psuedo.

Agree about the 'dowry stuff' Toomuchtea it makes me sound like a rabid feminist (which I ain't usually Grin).

PseudoBadger · 12/08/2015 15:41

But why would she hide her pills - she trusts him!

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 12/08/2015 15:44

But she's standing out against a baybeeee. As well as the fake sentimentality, I hope he's sterile YAAAAAY!

BYOSnowman · 12/08/2015 15:46

Helen is a really nasty cow when she's not getting her way/attention

I'm thinking if the way she treated Hayley and the way she treats the people meant to be her friends -Kirsty, Emma, Ian etc

Getabloominmoveon · 12/08/2015 15:58

Sure Helen is annoying, but Ruth is even worse. Time for a trip to Switzerland with Heather to put us all all out of our misery on this dreary, repetitive storyline!

BYOSnowman · 12/08/2015 16:06

The sl at the moment are really badly written and the only ones rescued are due to good acting

ppeatfruit · 12/08/2015 16:10

But a lot of us are in similar situations and are not bored by it Getabloomin It's a very true if not overly dramatic SL.

ppeatfruit · 12/08/2015 16:11

I disagree BYOS It's better than any telly soaps that's for sure.

BYOSnowman · 12/08/2015 16:18

That's a low bar though peat!

There's a few scenes that have really made me cringe, made worse by some poor acting.

I have sympathy for the Ruth sl but it's all so farcical in its implementation. It would be far more realistic for HP to struggle on and then end up in a home and Ruth feeling bad for not visiting enough. I have a feeling they will kill her off quick to tie up loose ends and get Ruth into one of her states. Then maybe she will try and run off with another cowman

Getabloominmoveon · 12/08/2015 16:25

Yes, ppeatfruit, also been there myself in the past few years. But agree with BYOS that it's so poorly dramatised, and Ruth's tortuous self-blame is just plain grating.
