If Jim, Caroline and Oliver stopped speaking Italian they might have a conversation about Rob's temper.

PseudoBadger · 31/08/2015 14:24

So that's

Charlie
Stefan
Tom
Kirsty
Jim
Shula
PC Plot
Ian
Adam
David
Jennifer
Oliver
Caroline ...

who know that Rob's a wrong 'un - yet no one has said anything to anyone.

Come on SWs, you know it makes sense. Surprise party for Rob in a locked Bull.

Ah Fallon meets the Ambridge Fairy.

Had Kenton given Jolene the OK to divulge all that?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 31/08/2015 19:42

Since the business as far as we know belongs to Jolene and Lilian (with some sort of interest for Lucy and Jamie) and not to Kenton, I'd have thought Jolene didn't need Kenton's permission.

R4 · 31/08/2015 20:04

There is a difference between the legal position and the RL position. According to your logic, the big TV screen was a present to Jolene from the family and Kenton had no right to refuse it. But refuse it he did.

Are we going to have a SL where Jill decides that she can't live at LL (because the curtains are too big to clean. What is that woman on?Confused) and goes to The Bull instead and rescues Kenton from himself.

PseudoBadger · 31/08/2015 20:13

The Bull needs a new chef doesn't it?

I thought HP wasn't going to sell her house - but it seems she has changed her mind now she is moving south, which makes sense.

Is there some way her money might end up helping out the Bull?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 31/08/2015 20:35

Yes, when family and business collide it all gets tricky. I can't see how Heather's money could be used to rescue The Bull, though.

WipsGlitter · 31/08/2015 21:39

Might be when we uncover the Shula / Alistair storyline when she goes to get her contribution and finds the coffers gambled away!

LuluJakey1 · 31/08/2015 21:58

Surely Scruff will be found alive and well. I can't bear it!

LuluJakey1 · 31/08/2015 21:59

Why has Jill developed a high pitched shrieky voice at any emotional moment. I find it almost unbearable to listen to.

PseudoBadger · 31/08/2015 22:00

Ohh!! Jill has always done that. Oh dear!!

OP posts:
LuluJakey1 · 31/08/2015 22:06

It's the pitch. It is awful in a way I have never noticed before and I have been listening since I was little and I used to listen with my grandma.

stilllearnin · 31/08/2015 22:30

Yes - to the shula/ alistair reveal. Not that I want more irons in the fire but it is a bit of momentum to their struggling marriage. I have just come back from hols and first stop was a good catch up (preferred method is to skim read the thread for gossip and then subject the dc to listen again on full blast while I retrieve muddy objects from our van). The H&R stuff has been good. Is disorientating the right word? (I am tired and sense there is a better term I cant put my finger on), but he seems so blind to what he is doing that you cannot always tell if he is a baddy or some kind of victim of himself (again failing to be as coherent as I could be).

BertrandRussell · 31/08/2015 23:12

How much do K and J need for the Bull? 26K? It's a lot of money- but couldn't the family raise it between them? Has Jill got any money?

Mind you, I hope they give it to Jolene. If Kenton gets his mitts on it God knows what'll happen to it.

LuluJakey1 · 31/08/2015 23:50

I await the return of Richard Lock- will it be Shula or Elizabeth. Surely not the pious Shula!

Jim and Christine?

I think David and Jill and Lizzie will all rally round to help Kenton (who I like least of all 4 of the Archer children- he is quite a self-indulgent, feckless, nasty bit of work at times- but Shula will find out what Alistair has been doing. Mind you, I am not keen on Shula either.

When Helen said 'Rob' in that uncertan way I thought he was dead would have saved her years of suffering I thought he had just collapsed. No idea what the SW thought they were doing there. She didn't object to whatever he did although, typically of Helen, she is now moody and introverted. She made no attempt to stop him.

He is an absolute shit. When the day comes where she does realise she will feel totally humiliated. It is beyond me that he does not make her flesh creep and get her hinky meter going. He is such a manipulator, a liar. and a nasty bit of work. He has huge and very obvious chip on his shoulder that he carries everywhere and takes it out to whack people with - like Jim- to make himself feel big. I would like lots of very bad things to happen to him all at once.

selsigfach · 01/09/2015 00:08

Why should the Archers clan club together to bail out their SIL's ailing business? If I had a spare £26k lying about, I wouldn't be throwing it away on a punterless pub that I had no stake in.

Minimammoth · 01/09/2015 02:49

So in a way they will all be paying for Kentons fab holiday.

WipsGlitter · 01/09/2015 06:26

I think Helen is subdued. On the walk the other day he was trying to worm something out of her, forcing her to verbalise what happened so he could deny it. I think she's probably still processing what happened.

LuluJakey1 · 01/09/2015 06:31

I didn't say I thought they should, I said I think they will. David feels guilty. Jill can't bear to see him upset. Shula's Christian conscience will prick her- she just won't have any money- and Lizzie will feel fir him. At the bottom of them they won't want the status quo of the hierarchy of the village disturbed either. Wink The family will rally.

PseudoBadger · 01/09/2015 07:09

It is beyond me that he does not make her flesh creep and get her hinky meter going.

I'm certain that he does, or did. But by the time she realised what a wrong he is, she had already invested too much. Talked him up to her family, shagged him, introduced to Henry.
She is that desperate for 'normality' and so proud, that she can't lose face. So she is swallowing that feeling every day, with all of the fake conversations that sound like they are coming straight from a romantic novel, and trying to make the screwed up situation fit her idea of normal.
I'm pretty certain that Rob can't stand her either. I mean, could you?!

Ambridge faces losing its shop, post office and pub. Obvious solution: village residents club together to buy a share in The Bull and the shop/PO moves into the pub. Get Jim and Lynda on the case and it will all be sorted by the end of the month.
