Chocolate Chip cookie anyone?

OP posts:
SladeGreen · 30/08/2015 20:42

Yes, she's acting like nothing happened at all?! I think this probably the start of a very long, drawn out storyline involving DV Sad

ElementaryMyDear · 30/08/2015 20:44

David's difficulty is that he's hardly in a position to tell Pip off for changing her mind.

SladeGreen · 30/08/2015 20:47

Rickyard is too good for Pip. I think she should be given a caravan at the bottom of a windy, muddy field. It seems like she is so used to her cosy home comforts, and Jill's cooking, that she will never want to leave. Surely, David as a parent, would want the best for her, to make her own way in the world?

David annoys me anyway. I've always agreed with Kenton, even if he has made some bad financial decisions.

JustCallMeDory · 30/08/2015 20:54

Just caught up with the omnibus... not sure if this has all been done and dusted on the thread... but with Rob / Helen, surely what happened is that he DTD without contraception and without her permission?

She'd said moments before that she didn't want another child yet, whereas he clearly does.

Is this the consensus? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

TheSilveryPussycat · 30/08/2015 21:02

Pip won't be able to bring people home for a shag but doubtless will be offered one in a caravan at the bottom of a windy, muddy field :)

I thought Helen was a bit Hmm at her job noticing being dismissed.

TheSilveryPussycat · 30/08/2015 21:07

dory I think that's about it.

Opinions differ as to whether her dress was ripped off, or ripped. If the latter, I suppose poor Helen had to do the mending.

JustCallMeDory · 30/08/2015 22:56

I think I must have missed the reference to her dress actually being ripped - although I know Rob made a sleazy comment about ripping it off earlier that evening.

BiscuitMillionaire · 30/08/2015 23:00

I've just caught up too (late night listening on iplayer). I particularly enjoyed
Rob (to Pat): I would rather work at a farm like my parents', or [duh duh duuuuuh] this one [mwah hahaha]

Would Pat really fall for it? Oh dear.

BertrandRussell · 30/08/2015 23:15

God, I hate agreeing with Kenton! I don't think I've ever done it before- but he's right about R&D kicking Jill out. It's utterly despicable. How could they even contemplate doing it?

BrendaandEddie · 30/08/2015 23:18

what is Rickyard?

Gruach · 30/08/2015 23:23

Tbf I don't think David and Ruth would have chucked her out - there's just some over-excited bod in Birmingham with several plastic figurines, a mock up of the village and a long pointy stick. (Poor Scruff is probably hidden under a packet of Rich Tea.)

Gruach · 30/08/2015 23:32

Rickyard is a cottage on Brookfield land. I thnk Ed and Emma lived there (Emma cleaned at Brookfield) for a while but when D&R needed more income they erm ... chucked them out and brought in tenants. Don't think we've heard whether said tenants were affected by the flood?

Bert lived in a bungalow at Brookfield which was affected by the flood.

EBearhug · 30/08/2015 23:54

In the pictures in my head, Rickyard is sort of just the other side of the farmyard from Brookfield.

D&R didn't chuck out E&E - they just couldn't afford to live there any more (Emma had been going to the foodbank), so they moved back in with Neil & Susan.

I thought Bert lived down by the Green since retiring. I'm going to have to get my Ambridge map out at this rate...

Gruach · 31/08/2015 00:05

This BBC picture EBear?

EBearhug · 31/08/2015 00:43

Not quite like that. But near enough, I guess. I don't think I've seen those pictures before.

LillianGish · 31/08/2015 08:10

(Poor Scruff is probably hidden under a packet of Rich Tea.) Grin
I also think it highly unlikely D and R would have chucked Jill out. I think in reality she would have very much been part of discussions about what happened to HP - with no one being more understanding than her - then she may have offered to move or would have worked out some configuration in which everyone could stay. Or HP could have gone in the Laurels which is what it's there for. Gruach stick analogy is absolutely spot on - let's move Jill to LL and see what drama ensues (I just hope she stays away from the roof).

Stickerrocks · 31/08/2015 08:19

Does anyone have a link to Ambridge map which used to be floating around on the Beeb website? I'm trying to work out where all the cottages are.

Helenluvsrob · 31/08/2015 09:02

Umm gosh it's a while since I've been here. The opera was nice. Not sure why my new frock had a burst seam that I had to repair in 30seconds flat before we went though I'm sure I was ok in the shop and when I showed rob.

You're asking if I had a nice time in Thursday aren't you , not many women get a special date night do they , err.....rob says we had a splendid time......as he has Pointed it out I know I can't hold my drink....... So it's a bit of a blur ..... Yes how embarrassing ...... It's like I don't trust my memory. ..... I think I'll stick to sparkling water next time.

LyndaNotLinda · 31/08/2015 10:01

Funnily enough, it's been archived Sticker - presumably because it no longer bears any relation to what's happening in TA. Only links I can find are to wallpaper here: www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/archers/wallpaper/

R4 · 31/08/2015 12:04

Another map from saddicts here photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3250/1549/1600/map%20of%20ambridge_lg.jpg

squeaver · 31/08/2015 12:05

I sort of found myself agreeing with Kenton last night, just a little bit....

SimoneDeBeaver · 31/08/2015 12:10

YY the list is growing! As well as

'Charlie (leader, of course)
Stefan
Tom
Kirsty
Jim
Shula
PC Plot'

there's also Ian and Adam - I think from general homophobia, but were there other instances of foulness from Knob?

Now I'm fantasising about all of them in the same room, a few bottles down, someone saying 'Yeah, Rob, hmm...' And then a posse, funded by the justgiving 'Get Knob' page.

LyndaNotLinda · 31/08/2015 12:18

Here are the maps. Not sure any of them bear much relation to one another!

Thanks everyone. Spent a very pleasant 10 minutes checking out who lives where.

squeaver · 31/08/2015 12:58

Simone - also David and Jennifer, as enoch pointed out. Although Jennifer didn't see fit to mention it to Brian when he was moaning about Charlie the other day.

I would contribute to that justgiving page in a heartbeat.
