Or she'll arrange for Henry to spend more time at Bridge Farm - because Rob's under so much pressure and needs peace and quiet.

ElementaryMyDear · 30/08/2015 13:04

I too hoped that Tom would keep Rob under control, but after the shop designer's visit he seemed to be falling under his spell again.

redshoeblueshoe · 30/08/2015 13:21

I think Knob will adopt Henry, so he can threaten her with keeping him if she ever decides to leave. I also think the longer it takes her to get pregnant the more he will make her suffer. I'm expecting him to now work on the rest of her family - to make her look stupid, so they will think she is irrational. Sad

toldmywrath · 30/08/2015 13:25

BoreofWhabylon She will not leave until Knob gets physical with Henry. Even then she might remain perhaps? Poor little Henry Sad

I thought [hoped for enlightenment] some of you might have more idea at what exactly happened to Helen - I've just caught up with the film & thread. I think the rape was implicit the morning after when we heard the state Helen was in. After all you would not expect an explicit scene on the radio -shudder at the thought. It was difficult enough to listen as it was.

toldmywrath · 30/08/2015 13:26

On a BOOP point, the acting was brilliant from H&R.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 30/08/2015 13:33

I've been dipping and out a lot over the last two or three years - what happened with Rob and Jess and salmon?

toldmywrath · 30/08/2015 13:44

Yes I've been pondering the salmon incident as well- something happened at Jess & Rob 'housewarming' -he got annoyed at the poor dressed (with cucumber?) salmon. Hopefully someone with a better memory than me will be along to enlighten us soon! Grin
And is ii Tuna that Rob is allergic to?

enochroot · 30/08/2015 13:57

squeaver
Add David and Jennifer to the list. They heard what Stefan had to say about the culvert.
Jolene and Kenton might also be in the list if they didn't have problems of their own. Knob put Kenton on a train to Wales at the stag night do.
Ian and Adam were both disturbed at the dinner party when Rob insisted on men eating steaks and Rob made Helen leave Henry to cry himself to sleep.

enochroot · 30/08/2015 14:02

Caroline and Oliver know about the SAB attack.

Which just about leaves only Helen's immediate family lining up on Knob's side. How ironic.

Scarydinosaurs · 30/08/2015 14:06

What did Helen cook for his parents that time?

He really laid into her then, for daring to take some initiative and invite them over.

From my armchair, I diagnose him as a classic narc.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/08/2015 14:33

Can't remember what Helen cooked but when Rob's parents didn't turn up we were all pretty sure that was because he'd uninvited them. Can't remember exactly how it panned out but didn't Helen invite them and her parents, Rob went ape, then seemed to accept it and took over the liaison with his parents, reported that they were coming and would stay in a hotel and then - surprise, surprise - Pat and Tony turned up for the getting-to-know-you meal and ParentsOfKnob didn't. Of course that gave Helen another excuse for worshipping at his feet because he was obviously not properly appreciated by his family and she has to compensate for that. Sad

snakesandbastards · 30/08/2015 17:16

I wonder what kind of contraception they are using?

If it was a condom and H asked him to use it, my bet was he refused and carried on regardless. That would explain the upset. In effect rape but in Hs mind consent to the sex but not the risk of pg so upset and confused and not condemning the bastard.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 30/08/2015 17:35

The meal was ruined as they sat waiting for R's parents.
The salmon was because he told her he didn't want a party, he didn't want AO to cater it and he didn't want salmon. The salmon ended up on the floor iirc.
He isn't allergic to tuna. The smell allegedly makes him sick.

all so very, very like my EA x who also had a massive blow up over me buying salmon for my family on my birthday

toldmywrath · 30/08/2015 17:49

I was thinking more along the lines of the housewarming party that Jess threw (not the Rob & Helen one where his parents don't show up-?never invited anyway)Didn't Jess do something to displease Rob & he had a hissy fit?

LyndaNotLinda · 30/08/2015 18:24

Like SmallLegs said, he didn't want the housewarming party and it was really awkward because Jess asked Ambridge Organics to cater for it and he and Helen were already shagging. I think he threw the dressed salmon on the floor when everyone left.

toldmywrath · 30/08/2015 18:42

Whoops- I was getting mixed up with the Titchparents not showing up at Helen's tea party Blush I hadn't realised they were meant to come to Rob & Jess's(housewarming)

Gruach · 30/08/2015 19:02

Jess/Rob housewarming - by the time it happened Rob vey much wanted to be rid of Jess and certainly didn't want her living in Ambridge, socialising with the locals and inevitably finding out about his affair. She insisted on the party, taking Jenny's advice on the overdressed salmon. But the party atmosphere was so bad that no one touched the salmon. Carrying it back to the kitchen afterwards while defending herself from Rob's verbal attacks, Jess dropped it and seemed to collapse to the floor in tears. Rob turned on his heel and went off to bed, leaving her weeping over the corpse. (His parents were not invited as far as we know.)

campion · 30/08/2015 19:21

Why hasn't Kenton railed against his 85 year old mother being chief cook and bottle washer and general drudge for the dopeys?

LyndaNotLinda · 30/08/2015 19:22

Sorry - SmallLegs was talking about two separate events in her post :)

Minimammoth · 30/08/2015 19:24

I have not listened for the past week. I can't bear the 'we are all going to go to Prudhoe' oh no we 're not. I very got a job in Brazil, oh no I'll stay here'. I agree that the H nR storey is excellently acted but I can't bear the way no one is calling Rob out. So I will read the thread. Let me know when he's about to get it. ( hides behind settee)

Gruach · 30/08/2015 19:27

Listen to last Thursday's at the very least!

SladeGreen · 30/08/2015 19:28

I really wish David had said NO to giving Pip her old job back. He needs to stop being such a soft touch, and pandering to her indecisiveness. You can't just chop and change your mind like that in the real world!!

Shallishanti · 30/08/2015 19:59

maybe you can if your parents employ you!

selsigfach · 30/08/2015 20:13

I feel sorry for the new cowman! Bloody Pip and David.
And what is up with Helen? All hunky dory again? I was really looking forward to tonight's episode but what a let-down.

TheSilveryPussycat · 30/08/2015 20:39

Surely Pip can now move into Rickyard?
