Chocolate Chip cookie anyone?

OP posts:
enochroot · 29/08/2015 21:08

Not everyone in the TA audience spotted him as a creep though. The jury was out for some time even if we weren't fooled!

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 29/08/2015 21:13

He said "I might rip it off you again" so presumably as she wore it, it was removed hastily but not damaged.

PseudoBadger · 29/08/2015 21:14

Not even SOC thinks he's a creep Wink

Sorry enoch I get what you mean now. I'd love it if he was shooting blanks, and has known all along. I bet he would find a way to make Helen believe it was her fault 'who knows what they did to you when they implanted you with Henry, darling' and refuse to get tested.

gruach ah yes I forgot about David and Jill falling down the hole. But I don't think any questions were ever asked about that or about Ed's water source drying up. Yet another dead end storyline (unless it rears its head in the future in a soc 'you see, I am clever' kinda way).

LillianGish · 30/08/2015 07:55

Pat doesn't know about the time Rob was all set to bring in a different breed of beef cattle, does she? Or about his general sneers at organic farming. Nor does she know that it was Knob who persuaded Tom to disappear to Canada and was in touch with him throughout. I'm hoping Tom will be key here - is it my I imagination or does he seem less than keen on Knob stepping in for Helen in decisions re the farm? Wasn't it Knob who talked him into ordering non-organic pig feed? He also made the disasterous appointment of the woman who ran Ambridge Organics into the ground.

Gruach · 30/08/2015 08:40

Oh yes! Add that to the growing list of never to be solved mysteries; did Rob

a) appoint her deliberately because he knew she'd be useless?

b) drip poison in the woman's ear to encourage her in AO destroying uselessness or?

c) is he, despite overweening ambition and a punchably sneering manner, actually himself completely useless in business matters?

enochroot · 30/08/2015 08:44

C Gruach. Definitely C.

He is in fact a complete failure & knows it deep down in his subconscious. That's what makes him so dangerous.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 30/08/2015 09:38

I vote C too. Opinions on everything knows nothing. The business advice he gave Tom over ready meals was wrong too. Although some of it might also be malicious as he enjoys setting things going and watching the chaos.

Scarydinosaurs · 30/08/2015 09:49

A bit of a and c, I think he didn't care about the shop, and was happy to appoint someone who was a bit shit to make Helen even more powerless, as the shop was a symbol of her independence.

Shula will be key in the exposure of Rob. However, Iain will be the one who is hurt if Rob exposes the truth about the Charlie and Adam kiss.

GypsyFl0ss · 30/08/2015 09:52

Yes absolutely enochroot

Imbroglio · 30/08/2015 10:21

I hope we find out the truth about the Tichener Family Farm one day.

I bet Rob was sacked for a major misdemeanour.

I'd like to think it was actually and allotment but that wouldn't fit with his past with Jess.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 30/08/2015 10:54

Where is the Tichener farm supposed to be?

Just listened to the film and was rather confused about what actually happened (have namechanged post hack incidentally) so thank goodness I have you lot. Sadly I agree that he probably raped her and she knows he did which is why she was in tears the following morning. He's totally gaslighting her :(

It's horrible to listen to - particularly in the context of Pat singing his praises. Poor Helen must feel completely alone.

Pip/Kenton/Jill storylines are all awful and really irritating.

Quite enjoying the shop story though I do wish PatnTony could have a few months without drama for once

Shallishanti · 30/08/2015 11:44

what's all this about Rob 'firing blanks'? I thought we knew Jess's baby was his (have I missed something??)
Agree with everyone that this plotline has great potential- Rob has certainly set things up very cleverly and only Helen has the whole picture
do we know what contraception she uses? if I was her I would def be on the pill

enochroot · 30/08/2015 12:08

None of us can figure out how he could have fiddled the paternity test so we have to assume Jess's baby isn't his and he is firing blanks.

We're never going to know for sure what he did to her the other night that left her so shocked. It would be too explicit for TA, though my theory is that the riding whip came into play. Remember all that 'Yes, Master,' nonsense at the last hunt?

LillianGish · 30/08/2015 12:10

Rob has certainly set things up very cleverly and only Helen has the whole picture This. But compounded by the fact that all the family tread on eggshells where Hellin is concerned for fear of upsetting her so Pat has worked hard to overcome her instinctive dislike and distrust of Knob, likewise Tom. Knob is also protected from Charlie by Charlie's desire to protect Adam - info given to Knob by Hellin. She truly is the author of her own misfortune - I don't mean that in the sense that she deserves what has happened to her, but in the sense that she has ensured no one will ride to her rescue.

snakesandbastards · 30/08/2015 12:12

Fgs Helen. Get the morning after pill!

squeaver · 30/08/2015 12:13

babyb - Rob had the "wonderful, romantic" i.e. controlling, manipulative idea to get married just the two of them and they planned their mini-break to the Isle of Wight around it.

shalli - Jess's baby definitely isn't his. They got the paternity test results and we hearda conversation between him and Jess about it. She had a one night stand (possibly in Brighton with Toby Fairbrother, some of us would like to think...)

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 30/08/2015 12:14

I suppose all.this speculation about what horror Rob influcted on H goes to show that it is true inagination is often worse than graphic detail when it comes these things.

Although I suspect it will come out at some point

squeaver · 30/08/2015 12:16

But the AKA (Anti-Knob Alliance) does have quite a few members/potential members:

Charlie (leader, of course)
Stefan
Tom
Kirsty
Jim
Shula
PC Plot

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 30/08/2015 12:18

and only Helen has the whole picture not really. She doesn't know about the blocked culvert. She believed Rob that the sab was lying. She believes Rob that Charlie pucked on him and does not know about his homophobia.
Does she know that he knew where Tom was?
She also does not know about him and Jess and the salmon. Nor that he shagged Jess. (Which he admitted).
Nor that he lied about his mum.

If she knew she'd ltb.

Gruach · 30/08/2015 12:25

If she knew she'd ltb.

She still wouldn't. She'll never leave. She'll have to be dragged away from him kicking and screaming.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/08/2015 12:28

She will not leave until Knob gets physical with Henry.

Which he will.
