Hello all, back from a few days away and have now caught up with TA, so naturally my thoughts turned to this thread. My, you've all been busy and on scintillating form!
I agree utterly with Bertrand Russell (words I never thought I would type, no. 1982
) about the creepiness of Brian and Debbie - knocks David and Pip into a cocked hat! She was more upset about his affair with Siobhan than her own husband's affair!
Bert's bungalow was hard hit by the flood and isn't ready for occupation yet but he is working on the garden.
Can't remember where Dan lived at the end of his life. I was a very new listener then (although like so many of the rest of us I had been inured to it because it was often on in the background when I was growing up). I'm a bit confused about how Dan and Doris died. Did Shula find Doris dead in her chair at Glebe? This is a bit dodgy, given that Doris left Glebe to Shula.
Then I think Dan may have died after trying to lift up a sheep at Elizabeth's suggestion, although I don't believe Elizabeth benefited financially from Dan's death. David was responsible for Clarrie's father's death (Jethro Grundy) after cutting off a tree branch which fell on Jethro's head. This may have saved tiresome and lengthy negotations trying to get Jethro to retire. [Yes, I am off into the realms of fantasy now.]
If this is right, Kenton is the only sibling who hasn't got a death on his conscience, isn't he? David has two*, given that he encouraged Nigel to go onto the roof, and so (arguably) has Shula, because she was on the phone to Mark while he was driving home the night he crashed into a tree.
So good to be back!
