She's got a whole calendar to use!

I would emphasise that it's worth someone else spending a minute listening to iPlayer and following my transcript just to check I've not messed up (eg attributing a line or gasp to the wrong person).

DadDadDad · 13/11/2014 23:35

Actually, doing that exercise does make you appreciative of the good direction and acting, where they manage to take all those lines and sounds and bring them to life in a convincing and fast-moving way.

minklundy · 13/11/2014 23:55

I think it was the bull. Whatsisname? Otto. Remember the one that Tony said to Johnny something like 'you don't know if you can trust a bull' (just as the casualty theme music was starting)
The crashing is bull either breaking through a gate or clattering some1 against it.
Ed is saying move to the bull which he is trying to pen.
Hel is saying don't move to devil child.

And yes George did almost get trampled in open farm sunday horribin terrorists debacle.
And chris got kicked in hungovet horse hoof debacle.

And yes Rob will have something to say. Like you had one job and you can't even do that properly.

Persephonepool · 13/11/2014 23:57

I thought I heard Ed say "right you b*ard"
So I think Ed has given Otto a wack which has made him mad and he has pushed Tony into the gate.
Ed has been rough with Otto before. Jonnie took over, speaking gently to him and got him safely through.

DadDadDad · 14/11/2014 00:04

Blimey, I didn't get any of that, but I'm crap at listening skills - I process things visually, so if someone could draw a picture...

unitarian · 14/11/2014 00:49

I have a strong feeling that the last line tomorrow will be Peggy exclaiming,
'Tom! You're home at last!'
Unless....... the shock of the bull incident has finished her off whilst still sitting in the car.

DadDadDad · 14/11/2014 00:54

Anyway, in other news...

We collected a lot of age data on the previous thread. So from that Rosetta satellite I have produced a Philae probe of a separate thread to transmit the results from the Churyumov-Gerasimenko comet of Radio Addicts to the MNetters of mission control. (Metaphor is... breaking... up...).

In other words, a fred wot I started:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/radio_addicts/2233904-How-old-are-Archers-listeners

DadDadDad · 14/11/2014 00:55

Oh and by the way, I correctly predicted the date when the last thread would end. Grin icimoi may claim it was a lucky guess probably right

BitOutOfPractice · 14/11/2014 02:44

Oh! New thread! Not going to read it as I haven't heard last night's episode yet as I was drunk entertaining customers

GypsyFloss · 14/11/2014 05:53

Didn't Peggoi sound very cantankerous last night. I feel sorry for the party guests. I reckon she's not going too be half as gracious about them and their gifts as they all reckon. Cue the return of the Prodigal Pigman...

CuttedUpPear · 14/11/2014 05:57

Checking in...

mummytime · 14/11/2014 06:20

My FIL had a series of falls. I think there were 3 until they discovered that he'd broken a bone in his foot on the first fall (on ice) and that is why he kept falling. So maybe Peggy has done herself a worse injury than she thinks?

Maybe Helen is injured? That could put her more at Robs mercy.

songbird · 14/11/2014 08:05

Yes I was listening on a crackly radio in the bath so when I get to work I'm going to listen again with headphones - hopefully that will help work out what the jeff is going on!!!

Do you mean like in that Stephen king book mummy time?

R4 · 14/11/2014 08:53

Ah, thanks for the metaphor D3. I get 99% of my news from the radio, not the TV or print, and have been meaning to look up that meteor landing thing...
It sounds to my ears that they keep calling it filet, as in filet o fish, but I knew that couldn't be right.Confused Philae as an offshoot of Rosetta makes much more sense.

guineapiglet · 14/11/2014 08:55

I'm not sure how many of you read The Times?? however the issue of crap scripts on TA made the letters page yesterday, with readers deeply upset (mainly because it meant they had to agree with David BlunkettGrin).... It is now becoming a political hot potato and I'm sure next weeks PMQ may feature the nation's indignation..Shock

Alsoflamingo · 14/11/2014 09:32

Definitely sounded like Jonny getting squashed/trampled. Wasn't Hellin yelling at him to 'stay still'? As if he might have done something to his spine?

GypsyFloss · 14/11/2014 09:34

Oh no not Jonny . I couldn't bear Tony's distress.

PseudoBadger · 14/11/2014 09:40

I thought Helen was telling Henry not to move, to avoid pissing the bull off. Like you'd say to someone who was face to face with a shark or something Grin

OP posts:
GypsyFloss · 14/11/2014 09:45

I have to admit that is what I heard too.

mummytime · 14/11/2014 09:57

Not quite that bad - Misery. But if you read relationship thread here there are a lot of disabled/ill people stuck in abusive relationships.

I hope not though, as I'm looking forward to a really good interweaving of Blithe Spirit and the Archer's at Christmas. Compare and contrast Elivira and Jess (although given the seconds annoying acting, hopefully her actions will be mainly conveyed by others).
Oh and can we get Rob's Mum Ursula back, she sounded as though she could act.

trevortrevorslattery · 14/11/2014 10:00

Yes I thought Henry was being told to stay still, but also like other posters thought he would be using mind control on the hellbeasts cattle to make sure they didn't run him over.

I thought Tony was trampled.

I also agree that Tony shouldn't have said they could look after Henry! and also that this incident will mean Rob can isolate Hellin further from her family. Poor RichJohn - not his fault Sad

DDD maybe where you thought Ed was saying "move" he was actually saying "MOO" and trying to communicate with the stampeding herd in a cow-whisperer-type way Grin

Congrats pas Flowers Smile

songbird · 14/11/2014 10:10

Have now listened with headphones. Helen said 'Henry...darling (which sounded like Johnny)...stay still....' 3Dads got it right (or as near as damn it).

BringYourOwnSnowman · 14/11/2014 10:11

I think richjohn will get blamed and he will spiral into 'generic badness' but I hope not because I would like a nice storyline at one of the farms!!

I don't watch soaps because thy don't seem to be able to let anyone be happy and it just becomes relentless misery. Please don't do that to the archers! There must be a happy balance of happy vs miserable!!!
