She's got a whole calendar to use!

Yes trevor I thought it's Tony being trampled or trapped by the bull who he stupidly said he'd leave with the cows; because of course he's been soo happy recently and that situation cannot continue. Helen was saying to Henry to stay where he was (with Richjohn) I assumed, though maybe he was trying to help with the situation.

Thanks for the new thread Psuedo

The S.W. s must realise it's not telly so we really don't know WTF's going on , maybe that's why they like to play games with their audience. Though they should be careful because there won't be much of one soon Hmm

dairyfarmerswife · 14/11/2014 10:27

I thought it was Ed being trampled, and my mind was running through the ramifications for him and for Tony if he is injured. I didn't envisage it being Hellin's fault because she wouldn't have been driving straight into a hard with cattle in, the gates would have been shut. Maybe Henry escaped from Jonny's grasp and caused the problem, or maybe Jonny let go of Henry to try and help Ed or whoever. Hellin was definitely saying stand still darling (its not uncommon for me to yell a similar thing at my kids on the farm, its easier than telling them to stop doing something/come back/stand out of the way). I thought Ed was saying 'move' to the cattle, ie herding them towards the sheds.

I did think back to earlier in the week when Jonny's tutor told him that you shouldn't lose concentration for even a second on the farm, because accidents can happen. It was in relation to the quad bike but it's so true of animals too. It sent a shiver down my spine because we (me, dh and two DC) are out there on a daily basis. We are extremely careful but it is so true that farms can be dangerous.

minklundy · 14/11/2014 10:36

Persephonepool I just listened again and it does sound very like Ed says something like I've got you cornered you bastard....but surely not on the TA Shock so it must have been faster or pass it!?

I think it is Tony who sounds distressed. but that may be looking at the impending horror rather than actually injured.

so in synopsis:
Johnny and Henry are in the wrong place
Ed and Tony try to warn Johnny.
Too late something happens.
Hel barges in spots Henry in danger and tells him to stay still.

I predict- Henry will be fine
Peggy will blame Tony
Hel will blame Johnny but mostly herself.
Rob will try to use it to drive a wedge between Tony/pat and Johnny seeing as golden boy is in his way.

Hellin will be giving it I never should have left him, oh my darling devil child. Rob will pretend to comfort her but will be further twisting the knife. I don't understand why he was there I thought you gave up work to be with him blah blah.
Ed will get injured and/or save the day but the Bridge farm mob will largely ignore it because they are all so self centered and he isn't an Archer.

Peggy really is the biggest cow in the herd- all that I am always telling your father to fill in the pothole and one day Lyndy will leave it too late and it will be a disaster- you could tell she was hoping she would still be around to see it.

R4 · 14/11/2014 10:51

Ed will get injured and/or save the day but the Bridge farm mob will largely ignore it because they are all so self centered and he isn't an Archer.

So he will sue them and get a huge payout which means that he can buy the milk round and his own pasture and have money left over to buy gifts for Emmur and the DC and they will all live happily ever after because the Ambridge Fairy will cure him.

PseudoBadger · 14/11/2014 10:53

Right, now I've listened again and again just now. I think Tony and Ed lose control of Otto as they get to the yard. Tony shouts to warn Johnny and then Ed shouts I've got you cornered you bastard Shock
Then I think Tony has fallen or has been crushed, so is moaning, Henry is shrieking because Grandad is hurt and Johnny tries to stop Henry from going over to him. Then Helen tells Henry to stay still.

I've only just noticed that FOHMC got into the thread title. Reminder that's flounces.

I wish it hadn't been so obvious that Something Bad was Going to Happen in that episode - something like this (whatever it turns out to be), which is such a real possibility on a farm, would happen completely out of the blue with no portents. IIRC (and I probably don't ) they more or less managed it with Mark's car crash.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 14/11/2014 11:44

I don't think they do the cliffhanger episodes very well because they spend the whole episode signposting it so you sit there for 12 mins just waiting for the 'thing' to happen. Like when Jess turned up at Helen's doorstep.

The best cliffhangers are the ones you don't expect so you have 12 mins of a mix of stuff happening and then bam - crazy shit goes down. (Although not in a gangsta type way)

ErrolTheDragon · 14/11/2014 12:01

You know what - they're going to get artificially high 'listen again' stats for this episode!

I think I shall have to catch the broadcast repeat today.

R4 · 14/11/2014 12:09

Agreed Errol. I've been trying to avoid LA recently on purpose to ruin SOC's statistics.Angry

minklundy · 14/11/2014 12:15

R4 Grin
this thread is all about statistical manipulation these days.

cryhavoc · 14/11/2014 12:29

DadDadDad's Cheerful Music at the end of the transcript just made me roar.

Icimoi · 14/11/2014 12:32

Dad3, I'm the last person to criticise lucky guesses re thread ending dates, after all, it's the secret of my (very limited) success. I bow to and acknowledge your brilliance on getting the last one on exactly the right date.

Icimoi · 14/11/2014 12:34

A bit of a side issue, but I was bemused at Helen complaining that it was difficult to rehearse on a bare stage because they hadn't finished building the set yet. In my admittedly limited and third hand experience of amdram, the actors consider themselves pretty lucky if the set's been fully built by the first night.

woollyjo · 14/11/2014 12:36

Phew!
I have finally caught up. I missed 4 episodes in half term and it has taken me almost 2 weeks to catch up with the thread.

As you were

minklundy · 14/11/2014 12:38

I was bemused at Helen complaining that it was difficult to rehearse on a bare stage because they hadn't finished building the set yet it was just an in for Peggy to get her nasty gripe about Linda in.

AllThoseDirtyWords · 14/11/2014 12:39

Oh it tells you what happened on the R4 synopsis now - I won't put it here though as it could be a spoiler.

DadDadDad · 14/11/2014 12:41

cryhavoc - I'm glad you liked that touch. Eastenders has the dramatic "doof, doof, doof", but it always amuses me on TA, the juxtaposition of "David, I'm dying" - pause - Lala, lala, la, lala...

songbird · 14/11/2014 12:44

AllThoseDirtyWords Holy Moly!! Quite different to how it sounded then?

mummytime · 14/11/2014 12:45

Icimol - yes, the set is never built until after rehearsals have been underway for a while, I believe that is true for the professional stage too. (Film and TV not so much, and radio ...)

BringYourOwnSnowman · 14/11/2014 12:48

Allthisedirtywords - well that is a bit of a spoiler on their part isn't it? Surely the point is that they want us to wait to find out what happened but they have described it in detail!

How odd - surely if they wanted us to have picked all of that up from listening they should have had clear stage description like 'oh no, x has been knocked over' kind of way.

I'm starting to wonder if that scene was written for tv and they forgot we can't see it!!

minklundy · 14/11/2014 12:49

all those well we got some of it right. Otto was there.

and I had in all the trampling excitement forgotten about the George, psycho-turkey drawing. That was actually classic TA. Smile

BringYourOwnSnowman · 14/11/2014 12:53

Mink - it's turning into village of the damned...

DadDadDad · 14/11/2014 13:01

Well, we get more from the synopsis than I could glean from listening. The main point is that someone was knocked to the ground that wasn't obvious to me. (I'm being vague, but surely it's not a spoiler when we're discussing an episode that's been broadcast?)

pollycazalet · 14/11/2014 13:02

Does anyone think Piggoi may peg it post-party?

minklundy · 14/11/2014 13:05

...and everyone can say "oh well she had a lovely day" whilst secretly thinking enjoying being a miserable old bag
