Have you had your free venison burger?

Well he can't stop the family coming round can he? R4 I thought that with the takeover (does BL actually own the estate?) they'd be on their uppers. JD was totally influenced by Ian to use the people he suggested wasn't she?

I vaguely remember Clarrie or Susan beginning to say something to Pat about HellRob moving in and she brushed it off very quickly. (maybe it was about something else).

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/06/2014 11:10

There is a young British soldier on "This Morning" right now, talking about Afghanistan. He is exactly* how I picture Dan.

*Never watch it - visiting the sick.

TallGiraffe · 11/06/2014 11:22

The cereals event has been causing traffic chaos all morning according to Lynne on the Radio 2 traffic bulletins! Grin

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/06/2014 11:23

pp "The Estate" is separate to Home Farm. Brian has shares in the former (along with all the other BL members) but has always owned the latter.

I don't properly know how these things work (sadly) but Brian might well see the value of his BL shares increase if the Estate is more profitably managed under the new Board. The main thing he has lost is control.

Obviously if Home Farm loses any of the contract work it does for the Estate that will decrease HF income - but not wipe them out completely.

Lilymaid · 11/06/2014 11:29

Got stuck in the traffic for the Cereals event this morning (in real life). All roads round Cambridge had massive queues. Didn't realise there were so many Adam, Brian and Charlies in this country.
Could anyone enlighten me as to whether the engagement ring had been retrieved from Jess (and that an inscription will prove this once Helen has got a magnifying glass out to check).

RocknRollNerd · 11/06/2014 12:01

I gave up trying to get to work shortly before 8 this morning as it had taken me about 40 mins to cover what normally takes 10 (and 30 of those had been in barely moving Cereals traffic). Car loads of farmers (so they are at least car-sharing quite a bit by the looks of things) in all directions. Tomorrow I will be making a massive detour and leaving extremely early to try to get into my office. They have literally only just said that the roads are running normally and I presume in about 3 hours time it will all start up again as they leave. There had better be a bloody good Adam/Charlie storyline to come out of this

ppeatfruit · 11/06/2014 12:08

Thanks zero

I heard that too TallGiraffe and had a chuckle, i also thought how come there's enough interest in cereals to warrant a show? I mean it's just wheat, oats, spelt etc. isn't it?

LittleBipper · 11/06/2014 12:47

I think there's a lot of machinery exhibited. My DH used to work in farming and he still loves all the combines etc, as does our 1 year old!

I can't bear Rob and I don't listen to it when he's mentioned in the podcast blurb. Used to be the same about Vicky

stilllearnin · 11/06/2014 12:48

Nothing to add- except I know it's annoying that you've been stuck in traffic but it's fantastic for me to finally have proof that TA is in fact a documentary!!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 11/06/2014 13:27

... barley, rye, maize, rice, sorghum, millet, quinoa...

If we have another wet winter maybe British farmers will start diversifying into rice. You could have got a good crop going in the Somerset Levels earlier this year.

ppeatfruit · 11/06/2014 13:39

True AllMImsy there are a lot of cereals, it's not warm enough for rice unless they put it in vast polytunnels which would then shelter it from the rain!

Whatever has happened to Vickoi LittleBipper? I quite like her Grin

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/06/2014 13:40

I feel left out! Am I the only person in the world not at the Cereals Traffic Jam Festival?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 11/06/2014 13:41

I'm not there, Zero. Sad

OddFodd · 11/06/2014 13:45

Sorry that the cereal conference has ruined your mornings but I am impressed that TA is intersecting with RL!

YY, R4, that's what's irritating me. JD doesn't generally put up with shoddiness and Brine certainly doesn't. So them just standing around being slightly worried and anxious about their kitchen is not remotely convincing.

And I too demand a Greek chorus!

stilllearnin · 11/06/2014 14:20

Radio carter...what's the frequency again?

Swannykazoo · 11/06/2014 15:57

Sssssh everyone - if we keep pointing out the flaws in the kitchen plot then the one character who cannot be named who was a fine work joiner might be written back in...

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/06/2014 16:07

Grin puggle

I've just realised that of course that's where the story is leading.

Swannykazoo · 11/06/2014 16:48

Sssh-they'll hear!

PseudoBadger · 11/06/2014 16:50

Stop it right now!

ppeatfruit · 11/06/2014 17:47

Grin poor Dxxxxx I hope his wife\partner isn't an MNer Grin

R4 · 11/06/2014 18:30

Am I the only person in the world not at the Cereals Traffic Jam Festival?

No. I'm here in the Midlands wondering how on earth they managed to kill off The Royal Show since it's plainly still such a popular concept.Sad

Bluestocking · 11/06/2014 18:45

JD and Brine couldn't have used Tiger and Pusscat's contractors. One of the comic elements of the plot was that JD's snobbery meant she felt it was essential to use Kingsley who is an artiste, not just any old kitchen fitter.

unitarian · 11/06/2014 19:05

Oh, is Peggy going to be killed by a bus?

lljkk · 11/06/2014 19:12

Go Jill go! Grin

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/06/2014 19:14
