Have you had your free venison burger?

Peggy was around in the war, frugal habits in her youth, of course she'd use public transport ,free bus pass and all. And who hasn't wanted to squawk Shaddup at one of those machines?

PseudoBadger · 12/06/2014 15:40

"I'm not being a nimby" - yes you are!!

of course fine for her to use her daughters' petrol and wear and tear on their cars Wink

choccyp1g · 12/06/2014 16:11

Cambridge was auto correct for Ambridge. You'd think my tablet thing would know by now.
Then again you'd think I'd know by now to look out for it changing perfectly good words into something else.

Agree about Peggy's overnight personality change. Maybe they are saving on actors by having one sided conversations with animal noises.

OddFodd · 12/06/2014 16:15

When my parents (who are in their 80s) go away, they drive to the station, my dad drops my mum with the suitcases, drives home and walks back (it's about 15 mins to walk). They can easily afford a taxi but think it's horribly profligate. They take their bus passes wherever they go in the UK :o

ppeatfruit · 12/06/2014 16:17

Illjk Exactly Grin

PseudoBadger · 12/06/2014 16:32

Can we rename Peggy 'Crazy Cat Woman'?

OP posts:
AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 12/06/2014 16:33

Just how old are those cats, anyway?

GypsyFloss · 12/06/2014 16:45

But Peggy has become a grande dame who gets chauffeured everywhere. I just can't see her hopping on the number 59. And surely if she was very lonely for company she'd have picked a till with a chatty cashier for a natter. It just doesn't work in my head.

Yes definitely Pseudo . Hopefully Bill or Ben , I'm not fussed, will trip her up ...

GypsyFloss · 12/06/2014 16:46

On the positive side is it ok to assume that Jazzer will get his girls albeit new girls back?

ppeatfruit · 12/06/2014 17:01

Maybe the tills were all too busy Gypsy (I should get out more!) I know I'll go and cut the grass!

unitarian · 12/06/2014 18:01

My mum was a wartime lady of frugal habits and of Peggy's age but when she was elderly (and wouldn't wear her glasses outdoors) she didn't trust herself to read bus numbers or not get run over so she ordered a taxi to take her to the shops if there was no one else handy. I think Peggy's trip was totally out of character.

BasketzatDawn · 12/06/2014 18:03

It strikes me as slightly trashy SL. You'd think by now the family would know Peggy likes/needs a lift to the shops and a system would be in place to help. She's got a cheek just phoning up in the day time to ask for a lift. Lillian and Tony work; JD is VERY BUSY. Somebody like Peggy isn't going to just run out of food either. She is organised and has a cupboard or two, I am sure. As for talking back to the machines, I've done that too - so she's being entirely reasonable for once.Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 12/06/2014 18:11

she could also just ring helen and ask her to bring a few bits back from AO too (unless she wanted loo roll or something. i doubt they stock that)

WillieWaggledagger · 12/06/2014 18:12

though of course helen is VERY BUSY too atm

BasketzatDawn · 12/06/2014 18:18

And if she needed/wanted company or a few bits, as others say, she's got the village shop, the Bull, and she lives in the grounds of Grey Gables and I'm sure Caroline/Oliver would have a chat with her too. And if she's really lucky she may meet the spectre of Jeck at GG and be able to chat to him too. Smile

PseudoBadger · 12/06/2014 19:17

I bet they stock a firm organic bog roll

OP posts:
PseudoBadger · 12/06/2014 19:18

Or a reusable loofah?

OP posts:
BasketzatDawn · 12/06/2014 19:33

No way did that old bird schlepp a freezer-load of groceries home on the bus. ShockShockingly clunky writing. Is it Bill or is it Ben that's going to die?

GypsyFloss · 12/06/2014 19:36

Grin at firm bog roll. Like that shiny stuff there used to be at my granny's house in public toilets.

Charlie and Adam. Hmmmmmm. Charlie really likes him.

GypsyFloss · 12/06/2014 19:37

Dead Ben I reckon.

BasketzatDawn · 12/06/2014 19:55

Rob is quite mean and unforgiving about Kirsty. I've been thinking for weeks, why doesn't somebody stick up for her. Is he just making sure there can be no reconciliation between Helen and K?

I don't get the bog roll refs. Was I not paying attention? Wink

YY, I think we're going to see Ambridge's first gay affair. But Adam was so unbearably guilty after the Pavel ONS. Can we bear any more breast beating?

PseudoBadger · 12/06/2014 20:51

We were just pondering whether Crazy Cat Woman could et all her needs at Ambridge Organics, even bog roll.

OP posts:
Sneezecakesmum · 12/06/2014 21:01

Rob wants to keep Kirsty away from Helen and ensure Helen eventually becomes isolated from her friends who may see through him and support her.

Same as sending tom into oblivion to Canada.

He's already got her away from moany and pat and living with him.

Shoot me is you know already for stating the bleeding obvious, but Hellin is gloriously funny and not at all pathetic in Clare in the Community Grin

FiveGoMadInDorset · 12/06/2014 21:13

I am distraught, I went away for two weeks for a holiday and work have blocked access to radio played through the internet. Have to now try and find time between now and Sunday 10am to listen to last weeks omnibus.

Bastards.
