Have you had your free venison burger?

Elizabeth apparently wants to put it all behind her.

Unfortunately Roy is constantly behind her with his tongue hanging out...

R4 · 27/06/2014 22:25

I am getting increasingly weirded out by Charlie popping up out of nowhere to have five minute chats with Ambridge folk. When he was with David today I was dying for Dave to say "If you want to see me, make an appointment. If you persist in bothering me without an appointment then I shall sue for harassment. Meanwhile, GIT ORF MOI LAND!."

mrsjavierbardem · 27/06/2014 22:32

Roy was vile tonight... It was slightly implausible, her being all up for it and then nada..... Oh but it is Roy.... I said his name and the yawned so violently that I nearly broke my jaw!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 27/06/2014 22:33

I couldn't understand why David didn't point out that he's entitled to burn what he likes atop a bonfire on his own land. It was extremely weird for Charlie to drop by to scold him - David isn't an employee fgs.

Where was Jill when he met her? I thought the bees were still at Brookfield - but then someone mentioned her going to Glebe Cottage...

Bluestocking · 27/06/2014 22:46

I thought the same, Zero. As far as I know, burning an effigy of someone you don't like is not an offence. Definitely cue for GIT ORF MY LAAND.

Eastpoint · 28/06/2014 04:26

I thought Jill was at Glebe loading up her car when Charlie walked past.

Normally Ruth has been the member of the David/Ruth household who gets on with protests, didn't she organise the milk co-operative & the meat thing? And she wasn't she more upset about the mega dairy too?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 28/06/2014 06:19

Ah, thanks. That makes sense.

I slightly wish the SWs didn't feel it necessary to follow the rules and set up a conflict here. It's going to be hard to believe that Ruth feels so gung ho about having a road driven thoroughly the farm.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 28/06/2014 06:58

Listening, now, to Graham Harvey and Sean O'Connor on Farming Today... But disappointingly brief. Only time for them to affirm that farming remains an agenda setting issue so it isn't odd to set a soap in a farming community.

Sneezecakesmum · 28/06/2014 11:20

David should definitely have ORFED Charlie from his land. Bloody cheek to trek half a mile onto someone's private land to tell them they are disappointed in them. Feck off Charlie!

SWs need to be a little less clunky with their characters I think

mummytime · 28/06/2014 11:50

I don't think Ruth does feel Gungho - she's just trying to provide balance. In contrast to Jill's "I don't want to live here if the road happens". Ruth is trying to think how they can and will carry on - after all lots of farms have had great big roads put through. If someone doesn't think the "unthinkable" then if Route B goes ahead they won't have argued for bridges to get the cows across for milking etc.

Just stuffing your fingers in your ears and having a paddy doesn't get you what you want.

ppeatfruit · 28/06/2014 14:29

Yes Sneezecake I agree about charlie;it's like he owns Brookfield FGS was he just 'going for a walk" up their drive? Dave is far too nice to him.

R4 · 28/06/2014 15:21

As well as orfing, I want David to:
rant about being told what to do by a twelve year old, and
tell Charlie that if Justin has a problem then he should be man enough to speak to David himself and not send his lackey.
Grin

ppeatfruit · 28/06/2014 18:05

Exactly R4 And Roy's becoming vile; obviously thinks he's in luuuurve with Lizzie .There's no way she wants to continue the shagfest and he's too thick to cotton on.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 28/06/2014 20:18

Roy obviously thinks this is the way to woo a woman!

He'll have his best grey aertex short sleeved shirt out before you know it! How could any woman resist!

I don't find the Charlie story believable. If they are trying to play the big business running rough shod over the community storyline it doesn't really work. The representative wouldn't be gettibg into squabbles with landowners like that. I can't believe Justin Elliott gives a flying fig. Heads of big corporates don't have the time to worry about a small piece of their empire and wouldn't appreciate an employee gettibg personally involved.

It's all very soap opera

BasketzatDawn · 28/06/2014 22:58

It's got all a bit DireSoapOpera again. Sad I agree with much of what's been said above. Having said that, I will try to hear the 'film' from beginning to end tomorrow. I missed some this week.

unitarian · 29/06/2014 01:56

Has anyone else been enjoying An Everyday Story of Afghan Folk?

GypsyFloss · 29/06/2014 07:13

Yes I've managed to hear a bit of it, enough to follow the story. I rather like it.

BitOutOfPractice · 29/06/2014 11:06

I am SO bored of the road storyline.

AnyoneforTurps · 29/06/2014 11:49

So I switch on the omnibus this morning after a month away, innocently expecting an update on The Road or blackcurrant yoghurt stocks chez Pat, only to hear Lizzie & Roy in post-coital bliss.

PetulaGordino · 29/06/2014 13:48

agreed boopy. i felt my heart sink when they first introduced it. so far have not been proven wrong

PetulaGordino · 29/06/2014 13:49

there was a proper "hello you two" though!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 29/06/2014 19:20

Go Jennifer! Though I do hope she really is on the right side...

BasketzatDawn · 29/06/2014 19:43

What actually happened there? I found my attention wandering half-way through. Was Jolene putting Pressure on Fallon to think more of PC Plot? Why is he regarded as such a catch? Confused Does Fallon NEED a man? Do we all NEED a man? Wink Blimey.

BasketzatDawn · 29/06/2014 19:45

Sorry. pressure not Pressure. Smile Clearly getting ahead of myself with PPPPPs.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 29/06/2014 20:01

Joke he was going on about the spark being the most important thing. I was waiting for fallon to say she felt no spark!
