Have you had your free venison burger?

Well, I wondered about that too, but being charitable I think the idea was to reassure us they haven't forgotten that Bethany has Down Syndrome. The music group she goes to is a special one for children with DS and their carers. No idea whether this is plausible but it might be a leftover fragment of the info they got from the Down Syndrome Association before Bethany was born.

Brum is commuting distance from Ambridge. Mark Hebden briefly commuted but found it too much after a while. No one can live in Ambridge for any length of time and regularly commute beyond Felpersham. The Ambridge water saps their strength.

PetulaGordino · 24/06/2014 16:52

just looked up the map of borcetshire, realised that birmingham wouldn't be on it

has made me annoyed again about the road. it makes NO SENSE to build a new road between borchester and hollerton because THERE ALREADY IS ONE. just dual carriageway it or something. anyway storyline is yawnsome, especially with brookfield residents having almost daily "last chance" moments

PetulaGordino · 24/06/2014 16:53

obviously i am taking the map as gospel. presumably there is artistic licence

PetulaGordino · 24/06/2014 16:53

lilliangish i keep meaning to ask - how is the paris move planning going?

cheminotte · 24/06/2014 17:39

I think Ambridge is about an hour South / Southwest of Brum.

R4 · 24/06/2014 18:06

It all depends which bit of Brum you are going to but Hanbury Ambridge to the city centre is only 45 minutes. That's hardly a stop-over distance is it. You could go, have your music thing and be back before lunch!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/06/2014 19:12

Flowers Mimsy!

WhatSheSaid · 24/06/2014 19:18

All very Wicker Man with the burning of the effigy :)

LillianGish · 24/06/2014 19:39

Well remembered Petula! Not moving til August, but currently in swing of leaving parties before school breaks up. This is going to sound weird, but will miss so many RL friends keep having a little jump for joy when I realise I won't have to leave my Archers friends behind as I can take them all with me to Paris Thanks. School and flat sorted so all that remains is for me to downsize our possessions to fit in!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 24/06/2014 19:54

Thanks, Zero! Smile

Didn't expect Ruth to get on her high horse. More marital problems, as others have prophesied upthread? Oh dear.

polyhymnia · 24/06/2014 20:14

Struck by burning of cat's ashes. Is cremation a service good vets offer nowadays ? Can't imagine Peg cremating him herself. That would be upsetting.

GypsyFloss · 24/06/2014 20:22

We had our first cat cremated and his ashes live on our fireplace, inside a wooden carved cat. There's a local pet cemetery that offers a burial or cremation service for all size pets right up to horses.

unitarian · 24/06/2014 20:27

Mimsy was right about Justin being the guy.
David & Ruth's marital harmony is now a-jangle and is Tony about to have a health issue?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 24/06/2014 20:31

It's worse than eastenders with the constant negativity. It would be nice to have some positive stories thrown in the mix

PetulaGordino · 24/06/2014 20:45

There is a big pet crematorium on the A505 bear Duxford

So exciting Lil!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/06/2014 21:09

I hadn't forgotten either Lil'G!

I'm much more excited than PG - and she would be far too busy to personally deliver Archers catch-ups to your door if your internet breaks....

Icimoi · 24/06/2014 21:14

I don't think the issue about the guy is a David/Ruth matrimonial issue, it's more the fact that she has rightly clocked that making an enemy of someone like Justin Elliott isn't the cleverest thing to do. This could all get quite nasty.

Icimoi · 24/06/2014 21:15

I wondered about Tony's health also. Please don't let this be a precursor to calling Tom back to take over the new pigs.

LillianGish · 24/06/2014 21:18

WineWine Petula and Zero

PetulaGordino · 24/06/2014 21:22

It was this time 7 years ago that I moved to Paris

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/06/2014 21:30

Don't fret Pet - I think we've just scored an open invitation to hang out on the terrace of some swanky Parisien apartment, nosing first growths and discussing the post-modern significance of Les Archers...

PetulaGordino · 24/06/2014 21:52

i'm like jolene reminiscing about the days of the midnight walkers. but with fewer rhinestones

mummytime · 24/06/2014 22:11

I'm pleased Ruth spoke out, it was a stupid thing to do and could make things much nastier. Ruth is of course less emotionally involved, as its just land she married into - not the legacy of generations.

ppeatfruit · 25/06/2014 10:02

Zero are you another in 'forrin' parts then? It's only an hour and half on the TGV from Paris down to our neck of the woods; you'd all be welcome Grin
